Things are getting seriously tight in the 250cc title hunt now. Aoyama now needs to race for big results and Marco needs to keep doing as he has been. Its the classic fast but mistake prone vs. consistent and balanced. I can't wait! Bautista has had another poor weekend, and i'm getting increasingly concerned about his lack of development as a rider since he joined the class. He's only a handful of points ahead of Barbera, who's really finding himself at the moment. Lots to play for.

Hmmm SS56 has been quite. Wonder why

well some good races this weekend! simon takes a very deserved championship! he dominated for the most part & even with the mistakes he made still won it fairly easy. he'll be another strong rider in the moto2 class next season. the 250s are really pinching up tightly now & aoyama is letting the championship slip away with his overly conservetive racing. he needs to turn it up a few notches because simoncelli is rellentless and will go balls out to win this championship! it's now within his grasp after being so far out of it... an amazing comeback & i can't wait to see him in motogp next season! bautista just seems to be falling apart. nothing has be going right for him lately with nothing but bad luck & mistakes. he needs to just selttle down & take a deep breath & collect... and then get on with it. i think his is a very great talent going thru a very rough patch.

one hell of a race, best of the gp's all year. Good on Aoyama. Battle for second place

So what happened? My man Hiroshi Aoyama won the race?? Told you all he's the real deal.

Aoyama was brilliant today! He rode a hard and smart race, championship winning stuff. Marco really didn't need to get beaten by Barbera, who rode very well again. Bautista really isn't looking so great these days.

Gotta say - I laughed my ... off when Simoncelli got bumped at the last second down to third. Never liked Simoncelli. That move he pulled half-way through the race where he almost pushed Ayoma into the pit wall was really over the line. The guy rides like a ..........

Aoyama is the only one who has played his card rights from round 1. Well effin done.

250's....What a race! kept me on the edge of my seat and what an unusual finish, in all the years I've been watching I've never known that to happen before, places determined by the fastest lap!

It happened two races ago

I was there man to cheer your man. It was the best 250 race I could remember..well repeat of Sepang MotoGP 2006 between Rossi and Capirex..

well it was about time aoyama came out guns a blazzin! outstanding ride & showing real fire in his racing! that was the ride that won him the title flat out without a doubt! he just needs to finish 11 at valencia & it's all his..................

I fully expected Aoyama to settle but he suprised me. There is some fire in him after all. Helluva race.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (SuperShinya56 @ Aug 4 2009, 01:30 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}><div class='quotemain'>With Simoncelli, Bautista, and perhaps Aoyama gone next year..... Do you guys think Hector Barbera has a chance to shine or maybe win the championship next year? And even if he is able to win it, how much weight would it carry seeing how he never got the best of the current top 3 riders?

Julian Simon is future MotoGP star, he will be a threat for the championship when he jumps to 250cc .

Uhh... I'll let you in a little secret. Just between us two. Don't tell anybody. Promise?
Okay here it is; There ain't gonna be a 250 season next year.

Moto2 yeah, I have him winning the championship next year. Julian Simon is one ugly dude, but the guy can flat out ride.

Thing about Simon, he already did 2 seasons 250 with mediocre results. So i'm still a bit sceptical about him.

RESPECT !!!!

Those results don't tell everything. You have to take into account that, for example, last year he was 10th with a satellite KTM and was actually faster than Aoyama in quite a few races (and only 30 points behind in standings). And Aoyama is now on the way to win the championship on Honda.

It could be that simon just never really got the right kind of bike for him in 250s. We'll see.
