the 250ccm could become very interesting this year too

Barbera, Bautista are my big favs for the Title
i also expect Kaillo and Pasini doing well

Yay, Bradley Smith on pole for the 125 race, he has been dominant all weekend. Also a special mention to fellow Brits Redding 4th & Danny Webb 5th.

Good show for the Spaniards 1..2.3 ahead of the 250 race.

Amazing work from Redding. A great natural talent that looks the goods to embarrass a few of the experienced guys. Contender next year and a champion of the future, no doubt in my mind.

Go 45!

Brilliant race, unbelievable debut for Redding, unlucky to not get a podium. Also a great race from Webb, huge improvement since last year. If I were Talmacsi/Smith I'd be really worried, considering how long it took Aprilia to get the bike together last year.

125: Gutting for Smith and Talmacsi, the two biggest players out with mechanical issues that scarily resemble last year. De Rosa was impressively quickest KTM by far, but looked a little wild so his result was fairly predictable. Redding did incredibly well, his corner speed was unbelievable at times, i'll be interested to see how he progresses as a rider. Totally heroic ride by Gadea, he's not a rider i particularly like but he was inteligent today and obviously in EXTREME pain. Can't wait for the next one.

250: Another thrilling race, i was disappointed with Luthi because i'm dying to know how he racks up against the others. Barbera has clearly learnt nothing from his antics last year and Debon seemed to be lacking in racecraft. Aoyama was a huge disappointment ans Simon was unimpressive, just making Kallio's ride more admirable, great job. Bautista rode in a way that i'd expect from a rookie, he wont win the world title doing that. Pasini was flawless, he looks at home on the 250 (he was too big on the 125) and he made the move when the opertunity was there, great effort.

Pesek and Simoncelli - Standard effort

125

Gutted for Smith, seems like he has inherited the mechanical Jinx from Pasini.

Redding, what a great future this youngster has show lots of speed and great maturity unlucky to get the podium. Webb probably his highest scoring position, well done.

250

Wow a good debut win for Pasini who put an awesome move on the others 2 laps from the end.

a little late i know but the lower cylinder class's again provide so much entertainment! i really was dissapointed for brad smith. man that polaris 125 squad are snake bit. how many times can you remember a steering damper falling of a bike?! talmacsi got the bad juju as well. good job by gadea especially considering the pain he must have been experiencing.
<
olive did a fine job as well. bradl were the hell did he come from. he was way down the order. excellent ride. really have to give it up to redding & webb. both these kids are on customer aprillas & did an excellent job! some fine racing indeed........
the 250 race was epic. all the doubters saying pasini could not ride the 250
<
shut them right up! i'm a big pasini fan & i think he could be in for a shot at the title in his 1st season. call me an optimist but ther you go.
<
barbera. the guys a nut but he sure makes the racing entertaining. in a elias sorta way.
<
good job by kallio he needs to run a bit harder at the start. debon did a good job but i still don't think he's the rider that should of replaced lorenzo. bautista shure did'nt look like the class dominator everyone has him pegged to be this season. luthi, faubel, simon not very impressive. simoncelli really needs to quit crashing. his career is gonna be over real soon if he dose'nt get his .... together. until jerez!
<

Gadea underwent surgery yesterday in Valencia to fix his shoulder. He will start rehab in 3 days in order to be as fit as possible for the next GP in Jerez.

well if sergio can race with a broken cllar bone then i have no doubt racing with a patched up one will be much easier.

250
During the whole race I was scared for those two in front, and then disaster. However I congratulate Bautista for reaction and that hug after, I don't think many riders would do the same. Glad for Mika, and Pasini, although I don't know how exactly that second place happened. Last time I checked he wasn't that close.

125
I cant remember the race

125's - bit disappointed about bradley 'only' getting 3rd. how funny does it feel saying that!!! he's gonna be strong. Redding is mindblowing, the boy has serious talent.

250's - i would prefer to just erase THAT incident from my mind. maybe its his hair that gets infront of his eyes so he cant see...

well chuffed for Mattia though!

Smith never had the rhthm to be with those first two guys, so we should be happy. Hopefully this is one podium of many because he can win this title if hes just consistent (and Aprilia aren't too crap).

As for "the" crash. Bautistas engine apparently broke down, so it wasn't actually Marco's fault. Still feel sorry for both of them.

Simoncelli was far too agressive, he clipped Bautista's wheel in the straight, he was far to close, the accident could have happened even without the engine issue, just a missed gear or something small and he would've crashed into Bautista.

Impressive ride by Takahashi, 3rd almost 2nd (Pasini's 2008 official Aprilia blew him in the last straight) he is using Dovi's Honda which has no development since 2006 I think. So I guess Taka is better than most thought or the Honda is not so bad as Dovi's fans wanted us to think.

The 125cc I missed most, (stupid hour change) dunno what happened to Talmacsi and Gadea. Congrats to Corsi, Terol and his team (both riders 1st&2nd)

Talma had another mechanical. Gadea was crap and crashed out of a non-points position.

ahhh come on, i dont rate Gadea that highly myself but he does have a broken collarbone!

yeah i heard that it was Bautista's engine but im still not convinced, he's too bloody nice to blame Simoncelli! im gutted that he didnt win but its positive that he was capable and running very strongly. its quite a points gap he's got to jump now though...

You are having a bubble bath if you think Bautista would lie about his engine and get Marco in on it, all out of sypathy for the rider who took him out of the lead on the final lap of his home grand prix. Rubbish.

lie, no. exaggerate the truth, i dont know. i cant say whether it broke or not, i'd have to watch it again and still i probably wouldnt know. the aprilia's are crap lately and it wouldnt surprise me but it just seems a bit convenient that it broke on the very last lap after racing at full throttle for the whole race so Mr. Crashy himself, after following Bautista for all those laps in a worryingly almost out of control manner, unavoidably crashed into the back of him...

the most worrying thing is that not one aspar bike crossed the finishline on sunday... thats bad.

Bautista himself explains what happened

I'll translate it for the ones that don't speak Spanish:

...in the last lap, in the 4th corner, my engine failed and the bike stopped. I couldn't do anything to avoid the crash. After the race I spoke with him (Simoncelli) cause I felt bad for what happened, but it's not my fault that we both went down ...

sorted then, thanks for that. those aprilia's are so damn reliable...
