Official Assen WSBK lap records:
Superpole: Troy Bayliss Ducati 1min 38.355sec (2008)
Race lap: Max Neukirchner Suzuki 1min 39.395sec (2008)

Spies, 4 in row, again showing he is fast wherever he goes. Haga is lining up in row 2, which for him is just as good as being on pole. Hoping to see a full race battle from the lead, not a run away.

Smrz, again, why is this guy so amazing at qualifying but fades or has issues when it comes to race time. Would love to see him turn out a good race performance.

Haslam, best of the Brits, upstaging the expected to be better Byrne and Sykes. Great showing, hopefully he can turn it into a podium.

Aprilia and BMW still screwing up in the new Superpole. And what is up with Ten Kate, something is not going on well in the former world champion garage.

Did anyone notice Troy Corser sat behind a desk in his immaculate German garage. He was poring over sheets of data like some junior accounting clerk at Ernst & Young. I'm amazed he didn't have an in and out tray

Typical tuetonic efficiency. Is this what bike racing coming to?

Damn! As if Hoppers career wasn't messy enough, i hope he recovers quickly. Looks mostly like the usual suspects again at the front and i expect the races to look similar, after all the hype about potential race winners in SBK this season it'd be nice if more than 2 guys actually did it, but i don't expect so anytime soon because Ben and Nori seem to be strong everywhere.

Nice to see the Brits having another good showing is SS, at least we can do something competatively even if it is the bottom of the international racing ladder.

What a race. Spies for the win on a last lap pass. Its almost like he toyed with Haslam and Haga till 3 laps to go.He went from 1 second down in 3rd to 6/10th down in second to 2/10ths down in second to pass and win in the last 3 laps . Head games maybe, push Haga from behind and hopefully force Haga into the old Haga.

Was anyone watchng this!!!???

Jeez, that is one of, if not the the most incredible moves I have ever seen at Assen.

The glorious old original section of Assen, the final turns, it builds and builds and builds, and how many race finishes are decided at that final chicane?

BUT I HAVE NEVER SEEN ANYONE ATTEMPT THIS AT HOGE HEIDE

Sheer brilliance.

Great ride by Leon btw, after he was nearly taken out by Neukirchners runaway zook. That Honda front end looked planted..a memorable first podium for Stiggy Honda.

Another great installment from the WSB script. Can't wait for the next page..WSS

three laps of sbk worth a whole gp season.. what a race my god... spies just unbelievable! now that's racing!

Norge on top of the block again. Another manic ride by Cal after the revs dipped inexplicably and fluffed his start...anyone of those top six could were fast enough to have won this...that's the great thing about WSS - it's impossible to call.

Another great WSS race from Assen...if the new Moto 2 class gets anywhere close to this next year I'll .... in my lid.
