Should shape up to be a really interesting year, the removal of winglets and the all the rider changes gives an element of unknown.

With the tyres hopefully much better and time passed for everyone to get their head around the unified electronics I'm hoping less random crashes and a nice close finish to the championship.

Marc is a bit of an unknown this season, he could win on just about anything but if that new big bang Honda engine remains down on power he may find himself behind the 8 ball and having to go back to his win it/bin it style to get on the podium.

Mav is an unknown also, his test times are fast but so are many others and a test is different to a race weekend but I think he will be a regular podium finisher on the Yamaha which is expected.

Jorge is another unknown, he may find his feet on that beast of a Ducati and blitz everybody but he may also struggle to adapt his style to the new bike, it could go either way.

Rossi will try hard as ever, he would have come close last year if he didn't bin it and cook his engine. New tyres may help a little but the competition will be harder than ever in which case he may have to revert to kicking other riders.

I'm really hoping Iannone surprises us and gets right in the mix of it, the Suzuki should help him keep it rubber side down which is one area he struggles with.

Pedrosa hasn't won a title in his 12 years with HRC and I don't see anything changing this year.

I think Zarco will be a stand out this season with Tech 3, I think Suzuki are already kicking themselves that they signed Rins rather than Zarco.

I don't know why everyone is unsure about Marquez. He and Honda are in a far far stronger position than they were this time last year. Pedrosa is doing much better with the new bike as well. I also wonder if Honda do hide their true potential a little during testing given what happened to them and Stoner in 2012.

It's still early but, 3 Hondas in the top 4 and Miller sitting in 8th makes me think that Honda may have sorted their acceleration. This time last year they were still struggling in testing. If Marquez has the bike that by all accounts brakes the best, holds the best corner speed and no longer struggles coming out of the corner it'll be a race for second IMO.

The Honda engine is not down on power. The big bang configuration switch was about removing the peaky characteristics of the screamer that were proving to be too difficult to tame with the spec ECU while losing next to no power.

Thanks JP, for some reason I've always thought the big bang engine config's robbed a little from the top end in doing so.

I remember one of the journos talking about how Hondas new Big Bang engine wasn't sacrificing top end power or something similar anyway.

My full prediction this year is Marquez walks away with the title taking 11 wins.

Ok, so this is pretty interesting.. 6 races of the 2017 season are at the same day with F1. I dont think that have ever happened before :eek::cool:

Marquez, if he can win on the cluster .... of a bike from last year then he'll probably win this year where Honda *should've* sorted their acceleration woes out.

Nonsense...didn't you know? "Marquez has never ridden an unfavourable GP bike" and the "Repsol Honda is ALWAYS the top machine on the grid".

Some anonymous bloke on the internet said so.

How?

Who do I think will get the 2017 title?

Valentino Rossi. He is the house, the deck is stacked in his favor, it has been and nothing has changed. It's his championship to lose.

Is it fixed? No. Is it stacked? Yes. Will VR win it? Who knows, but he's still the odds on favorite by design. The thing is rigged folks. And unlike politics in western societies, there is no citizens watchdog group (other than this tiny forum) nor is there a voice of opposition, independent media, electorate, term limits, or checks and balances. It's a small kingdom, and the owners impose their will with one incentive in mind, the authenticity of the competition is not it. This principle fact drives the design to skew the results. It's a simple concept.

So my prediction is based on the odds by design.

If you live in a glass house, don't throw rocks.

I don't understand a word of that lol - Marquez to win but
Vinalez may do it - think the Honda will be strong this year though - both class acts - Rossi for third

Bad luck for F1 - I like them both but if I have to decide, which I don't, I would choose MotoGP. I have been watching old season 2010, 2013 (until they up-dated the app and now I cannot see the 2013 season anymore) and I believe it is by far superior to F1 in terms of Racing. MotoGP does not have to be scared of F1 at all in my humble opinion.

I was/am (who knows) a diehard F1 fan that's increasingly lost interest in the sport over these last 5 years. If I had to pick one of the two to watch, it would be GP without question. GP should pay attention to F1 to avoid making a lot of the same avoidable mistakes that F1 has been making for a lot longer than the last 5 years.

Still not same hours tho, so u should be fine watching both f1 and motogp at the same day.
