After either of those two instances you will frequently be reminded that your opinion is no longer valid, & have your name added to a list everytime it is necessary to illustrate the point that "there are too many boppers" & how they outweigh the normal, informed, genuine racing fan that they percieve themselves to be.

Surely you're not paying attention to anything that's been said here. Pedrosa is 13lbs lighter than Elias.
In MotoGp that's huge. Why do you think they have weight minimums in WSBK and Camel Pro races?
Nobody (regardless of whether they like Pedrosa or not) is saying he lacks talent. Talent or not - nobody
consistently gets the hole-shot like on largely equal machinery - without some serious advantage - and
that 13 lbs is Pedrosa's.
To reiterate; 13 lbs is NOT "very close."
That is a pretty extreme circumstance and I'm sure if the occasion arises I may have to carefully reconsider my position.
You should know (or Tom should be aware if the situation ever arises) that I do have very disciplined bladder muscles. I have driven on numerous times from Sydney to Brisbane (10-11 hours) while drinking water and without any breaks apart from fuel. We don't have the supersized drinks that you do over there so I'm not sure how I'd go after one of them.
It's approximately 5% isn't it once you take into account the weight of the rider and the bike. If you look back, wherever there is a reasonable straight on the start finish line that's where Pedrosa comes to the front off the start. He launches well and then the power to weight advantage and smaller frame (fitting behind the fairing) plays a greater part once the speed gets up a bit.
To give the data straight off the Motogp website - Dani is 52kg compared to:
Stoner 58kg
Rossi 67kg
Lorenzo 65kg
Hayden 69kg
Doviziso 60kg
There is a massive 17kg difference between Hayden and Pedrosa which is approximately 37 pounds. 15kg for Rossi and Pedrosa or 33 pounds approximately. That is huge (almost 15%?) and will play a part for both acceleration and top speed (once the initial launch is put aside). The other factor is Dani's height is 160cm vs the tallest which is Rossi who is 182cm - big difference for aerodynamics.
On the flip side, Lorenzo, Rossi etc may be able to get the weight in the right place and outbrake Dani every time.
Your obviously not reading. I was making a point that he is not just getting the hole shot cause of his weight and i agree it helps a little. So What is is that your trying to state with your message above KEV? Are you saying that its all because of his weight? Rossi is to be admired, and many of us do, but worshiped, that's quite a different task all together. Reality, something in short supply within the Yellow Army. Are you enjoying your gulag?
The gulag is less a gulag & more of a Hawaian island, we have a Sun & Moon tiki which every night at midnight, after donning yellow grass skirts, we prostrate ourselves in front of. Celebrating by chanting Ross-i, Ross-i, Ross-i & drinking our own piss (because it's yellow).
