Calm down Esco, I've disliked Pedro because it fun to do. You should try it, you'll like it.
If Pedro had simply taken out Nicky in a crash, then I'd hav forgiven him by now. There is a long list of peeps who have used Nicky as breaks, and I don't spend any energy disliking them. But it was Pedros foul attitude about it which continue for two more years later. He and his puppeteer were a virtual sound bite machine aimed at shitting on Hayden. Not sure how you missed that.
Are you familar with the laws of physics? Yes a few pounds does make a difference in launch. Do you think its a coincidence that Pedro most always has the fastest trap speeds? No only does it help being 98 pounds, but being a large sized barbie doll helps in the aero department. Not his fault, but advantage, yes. And you are correct, it can also be a disadvantage in some aspects.
You know esco, I don't hate Pedro as much as you think. Afterall, I once wore a hat that said, Dani, I love you, and took a picture with him.

I would judge by this statement that you must have started watching MotoGp about 2 hours ago. WTF???
Take a look at photos of Hayden or Spies from 2005 and then look at photos of them this year. Both of them
have been starving themselves like a pair of coked-up New York fashion models in order to be light enough
to be competitive against the Spanish midgets on teensy 800cc bikes. This is a well established situation
in the MotoGp world - and much written about by numerous journalists and discussed endlessly by the riders themselves.
Whether or not Dani has enough weight to keep the back tyre on the ground as much while hard breaking is irrelevant as the discussion is whether his lack of weight gives him the ability to get the holeshot off the line. When it comes to acceleration, all other things being equal, the 13 pound lighter person will win. That is physics 101.
If the blazing starts are completely about Pedro's weight, how come Elias didn't get flying starts in 2009 on the Honda.
Perhaps one has a ripper launch control & one doesn't.
His weight is I am sure not irrelevant, but other factors do come into it; casey stoner was the quickest starter on the 2007 ducati but not so on the 2010 ducati. Come to think of it, this is another reason the honda may be well suited to stoner.
There's a reason I posted the wight of other riders on there and Elias and stoner are very close to dani. I believe he gets a little advantage but he's deff better at getting of the line then most of The gp boys. Just look at the distance he's making on them and tell me that it's all down to the 12 pounds. Their not fully under the fairing during the hole launch session either. He's just good at that period. He's not as good on the brakes but that's another story.

Oh I did!! that one weekend he took ole Hayden out I was hating little man but mistakes happen and he deff deserves to be were he is. Stoner will deff make him stronger.

The discussion was if Dani's has an advantage or disadvantage physically. Overall it is clearly a disadvantage but at the start he is definitely gaining something. But as people have pointed out it isn't just about weight its about where that weight is, as in Dani being short has his weight low all the time, and lets not forget the weight distribution and setup of the bike.
You have no reason to assume that all other things are equal. In fact, you know that lots of significant things aren't equal. Including Dani's techniue
I don't have too much trouble with english, althought i've never been strong with spelling. I do have trouble being patient with people who aren't quite up to speed though, i'll never be able to be a teacher.
