what u guys think...........will sete race or he`ll be a test rider....plss guyz post ur views

Well I was caught a bit by surprise when Suppo said Melandri will be at Brno, most media I read gave it as a fact that Gibernau will race there and Melandri might be in Kawasaki. I don't believe it yet, when I see Marco on a red bike in Brno I'll believe it.

But Gibernau wont be a test or reserve rider, he'll go back home to his bussiness if there's no room for him in a factory team, he's not coming back to be a backmarker.

+1

If Ducati give him Melandri's seat then he'll come back but if his options are Kawasaki or a satellite Ducati I think he'll just go back home.

Just like anything it comes down to how bad you want something. About 6 years ago I was hanging out with a former AMA superbike champion. He said it was mainly one thing and it comes down to who wants it the most. This will determine how hard you push and stay in the game. Sete with all this hoopla is toying with the notion of returning to motogp. He is foolish to think that he can just waltz onto a factory squad and be a real contender. Now I like Sete and I think he has talent but in this current crop of riders he will struggle for a while. So why not take what you can get at the moment cause if you want it bad enough you will do whatever it takes to be there.

Since the rookies can come into motogp and go fast... Gibernau would be right at home in this era, he has the added bonus of experience and to ride within the limits without falling off like Lorenzo.

This guy pushed Rossi and beat him a few times head to head... like no one else has.

the fact is, he will be a lot faster than marco. his times from the last test he did shows that. 0.4 seconds off stoners fastest (on race tyres, not qualifiers)
i think a lot will depend on his times from the test this week. ducati should give a definate answer after that.

another thing, (if he came back), what number would he race with? deAngelis has number 15 right?

After FP1 they'll give his ride to Gibbers

That would be my guess too.
I was kind of hoping to see Gibernau on the Duc. just so that something happened in that area.
It would be fun to see what he could do,because i don't think he would go to Kawasaki.

Stoner has also beaten Rossi head to head - Qatar and Catalunya 07

As a rider maybe Melandri found something on his bike that makes him feel little bit upbeat

personally, I would prefer him moving to Kawasaki or Honda ASAP, and Sete takes his seat, but it seems he wants to try more. I read several times that Suppo actually likes him very much and never criticizes him openly... If Macio continues to ride Ducati, then Sete will go back to his business and perhaps finds a new wife...

I think it is a shame for Melandry riding that red factory duke to DF or second last. Both duc-suppo and melandry paid the price heavily for taking capirex seat. Juz admit that duke is not meant for melandry, it was for stoner and sete or capirex. Even checa was always in top ten unless DNF...
I would love to see Sete ride that red duke for the rest of the season and challenge Vale for the podium just like in 2003 and 2004..

I'm sure that if he threw his leg over one of the Alice bikes he would get full factory support anyway.

I also make the point that Valentino showed that experience and race craft is a way to deal with the outright pace of Casey. Sete will bring that back and has sooooo much unfinished business with Valentino it would be great to see.

Also, if Marco were American his continued riding of a Ducati would cause a constitutional crisis. You see the constitution (or bill of rights? – whatever) protects a person from cruel or unusual punishments.

Watching Marco circulate at Tour de France pace is heartbreaking.

Yes I would have to believe that Sete would have full support from Ducati. I also think with D'antin gone there will be a better situation for him to have the fingers of the factory deeper into the team. So his bike may have different livery but it should be the same thing technically. I would love to see the Duc up front in force.

I think Sete needs to take a crap or get off the pot.

I believe Ducati have stuck with Melandri b/c they don't have to tell him not to beat Stoner.

There's no way Gibby would ride the GP8 behind Stoner if he (Gibby) had better pace----unless he were contracted to the team for the 2009 season.

It remains to be seen if he will ever be at that pace again.. it was when he was on a factory supported Honda... when he moved to Ducati he was doing ok but not so much at the front.

The 800 ruling definately helped Ducati make that step forward.... but Sete might be too old now.

Sete was fast on the Ducati. He just didnt' have the tyres to make it to the end of the race.
I do believe he will be fast but not top 3 fast. I think Sete, if he were to come would be firmly ahead of Nakano and the others riders who round out the top ten.

YEah your right about that I would say. Since his times were very close to Stoners times he has a great chance of getting in the mix. I think the main factor would have to be his endurance over a race distance cause he hasn't been under the pressure for more than a year now.
