think he must be the only guy to be able to blow up a Honda ?

The race yesterday, to tell the truth I was a little disapointed.

1. For Rossi couldn't get to the front 2 guys

2. Hayden did nothing but follow didn't fight, hell he could have at least showed a wheel, or been rossu like touch him a few times or stuffed it up the inside even if he did run wide at least it would have been a little unsettling for Marco. But just to follow mmmmm

I'm extremely happy for Marco got the win, smooth pacy race, he certainly looks the goods. I heard the commentators say that this was Rossi's best chance of getting 12 and he missed it as next year thigs will be a lot tougher. Personally I still think Rossi will do them like a dinner next year again.

With a front position on the grid he would have done them yeasterday as he was catching them quite quickly in the end. But it did show a lot about how Rossi rides a race and where he is strong. Notice how early in the race when he was in 3rd he could only match the front 2 for pace but later in the race when the tyres had gone off a bit he was able to close them down. Think this explains a lot of Races this year when Rossi has been able to be so strong at the end.

Bad luck for Sete

well marbs from our point of view your correct about no duken it out between hayden & melandri. but from his point of view lets consider.1st both hayden & melandri would be keenly aware that rossi was behind in 3rd. so fighting back & forth would have just let rossi catch up & they certainly did'nt want him there. 2nd considering haydens record at valencia & also it's the most diffecult track to pass at, he just played it smart & just tried the last lap pass that did'nt work. i know u don't like the lad but cut him some slack. after all u don't get to beat rossi that much gotta be smart & make the most of a chance when ya get it !

i can c where ur cumin from but id b very very dissapointed if rossi was as close as hayden was and never stuck a wheel inside marco and as we know rossi does just that so im with marbs on this...

but thats rossi. is'nt it. he does'nt have to think about taking it safe. thats his greatest advantage over all these other riders. his supreme confidence & his never settle for anything less than a win. these others are willing to settle for 2nd 3rd 4th. they all get to a point where they slow & play it safe. rossi never does. how many times have u heard rossi say this podium is like a victory for me? like i've heard so many of these other guy's say. if he's anywhere but top box he's got that dissatisfied scowl on his face. i can never remember a racer so determined to win at all cost even when he does'nt have too.

Good point there Frosty but I still think in the last few laps there was a chance to stick it to Marco, like Rossi does. Deep under bakes even if he runs it wide he may have just pushed Marco out wide, a couple of moves like that and Rossi would still have been safley 3rd.

Agree with ya second post there though guess thats the differnce of a world champ aye.

Don't worry I'll cut him some slack when he earns my respect, last couple of races he has, just hope he's gonna be a fighter and not a follower

Think of it this way.

Hayden did not want to risk falling down late breaking like he has the last two times coming here to this track. He is probably thankful for finishing the race and even more thankful it happened to be second place.

It is a hard track to passAt. Maybe a move like that would have taken them both down.

If they would've fought each other Rossi would have caught up.

The tires were gone and from what we know of Nicky he is no good when the tires are off, it added to his fear of binning it again.

Or, Melandri just had that equal or just a smidgeon better pace than Hayden had.

I agree with you Marbs. It was smart for Hayden to follow to keep Rossi at bay up until two or three laps to go. At that point I think he should have started to line him up. He had Melandri lined up for a dive up the inside on the brakes in the final corner but he said in his post race interview that once he saw Melandri get sideways on entrance he thought he would have a better shot at squaring up the turn and getting a good drive to the line. I personally think a dive up the inside after Melandri's big wiggle would have Melandri a bit spooked and would allow Hayden an easier time coming through but it's easy to criticize knowing the outcome.
