Nicky played a blinder from the start and in fairness handled the pressure, rode from his heart. Rossi got too greedy too soon, we didn't get to find out but you can bet he was running a hard tyre and pushed things early before the tyre 'came in'. The first few laps really didn't go his way anyway. Good to see Dani and Nicky working as a team and Rossi congratulating nicky. Good vibes restored

Otherwise a processional race.

What a great race, I was on my seat from the get go. I was almost pre-occupied during the 125s and 250s because all I could think about was this race.

First off congratulations to Nicky Hayden. I had faith in the guy since I first saw him ride and it´s really nice to see him grab a world title. I feel a bit honored, I saw him take his first AMA SBK win, his first MotoGP win and now his first MotoGP World Championship. Hats off Nicky!

Troy Bayliss... wow. I thought he would play a factor in the race but I didn´t expect him to go flag to flag. So pumped for him. When he rode by on the celebration lap he didn´t stop to do a wheelie or burn out of even wave to the fans. He simply held his head in his hands and I think he was crying. It was very emotional and honestly, I couldn´t be happier that he won it.

Great ride from Cappers and Elias. I thought Pedrosa would have more but he rode very well.

Rossi... I thought something might happen but I wasn´t sure and didn´t want to jinx anyone. I wouldn´t be surprised if it was a bit of pressure on him, especially after the start he had, that aided his fall. I think we will see a different Valentino Rossi in 2007 as he has never been defeated like this before. I´m not sure if he will be flawed but he will certainly be different and I am excited to see it. I haven´t seen the video but it´s great to hear about Rossi´s handshake. I know I´m overly critical of his antics but deep down, he´s a great guy and I have loads of respect for him.

Daz, not getting plastered... yet. Perhaps soon, we´ll see what happens. RICHO!!!!! I CAN´T BELIEVE HE DID IT!!!!!!!!!!!!

AIN'T KARMA A BITCH?

jajaja, i'm sad rossi fell, but i'm confident that nicky would have steped up, and given the scare in the last laps, i don't think it would actualy be Nicky first rossi 3erd, but it was VERY posible.

I'm happy for nick, and happy for rossi, there both winers.

It's like Hayden is the worker that always gets on time, works hard and is always reliable, and rossi is the hot shot guy that always gets the great idea, and helps the company.

They are both the type of worker that i would like to have in my side.

I've been trying to work out what to write here for a while now. I'm still spiralling through the emotions from huge grin, to nearly crying my eyes out to feeling completely sick. Haven't felt like this since Palace got promoted to the Premier League a few years back.

Perhaps it is best I just make a noise instead

i thought we were going to see the mother of all battles today but after rossi's off it was all a bit tame
<

well done to hayden if anyone deserved it (apart from vale)
<
he did

Rossi's poor start and visit to the kitty litter looked like cold tyre problems to me he was struggling to hold his place in the first lap

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (The Best Man @ Oct 29 2006, 05:55 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}><div class='quotemain'>speaking of crashey.. how many races has he finished this year?? bet ducati wished they'd waited till the end of the season to sign a new rider.. especially after bayliss' performance today! fantastic!! great ride from both the dukes!
I bet they regret it... but they signed him after he crashed sete out so they were warned and they'll take the risk...

If Stoner crashed that much on a honda... how will he perform with the duke... huh.. why didn't they signed Troy?!?!

P.S. Liked the banner...

What a great race. Who ever would have won this champ. really has earned it, and that goes to Hayden!

Now all you Dani fans can crawl out from under your pebble, and Nicky fans can uncross your fingers.

Hats of to Troy and Ducati. He is the star of the race IMO!!!

This season and next will be a good filter to show the true fans of Vale. Long live the Doctor!!

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (gx6rdr @ Oct 30 2006, 01:14 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}><div class='quotemain'>Although I think the real winner is richo. Everyone in here didn't give Bayliss a chance about winning and we did so in our own right, but richo definitely proved us all wrong...or is it Bayliss that proved us all wrong.

ditto! Congrats richo, man, bayliss was hot!

EDIT: Nice banner Ben!

Yep, Ducati did the damage today, hats off to them!

Surely theres not people out there who only like Rossi cause he's winning? But I do think next year will be hard for him, but more because of the new bikes than losing his title, I'll be surprised if Honda dont have the jump on the field on the 800s.

Keeps it interesting

I really can't say when i was screaming louder. The moment when Dani took out Nicky at Estoril or when Rossi lost it. I love this sport and i love the emotions it brings. GREAT SEASON!! CONGRATS NICKY!!!

I especially liked the post race interview from vale. It's nice to know Hayden is respected around the paddock for his racing as well as his good nature.

Thanks to all in the forum and i look forward to talking to you all next season.
