Stoner values other things more. His nads are as big as ever, if Sepang in February didn't already show you that.
Actually I take back the second paragraph, Synn is obviously a fan of the sport, and was also obviously running a line strongly contrary to the prevalent view on here quite deliberately and with full insight, and good luck to him or her, I have no problem with people having some fun.
What I said in the first paragraph comes out pretty strongly in Stoner's autobiography however.

Rossi's experience in MotoGP has been one of a partnership with the promoters /governing body who have artificially enhanced records and contrived a hero's narrative for consumption to increase its value; his popularity has mirrored this construct. His cult following is a product of what amounts to an Orwellian state sponsored kingship in the tiny island state know as MotoGP. All forms of doping, either it be through the mechanism of special tires, changes to regulations, reluctance to enforce safety measures including codes of conduct by its own regulatory body, and performing enhancing protocols, all of it is state sponsored by the effective governing body. We cannot begin to compare the experience of rivals, much less the designated villains of this system.

Exactly. I think Stoner's wife was quite a good friend of Marco's girlfriend as well.
Stoner also commented in his autobiography that after an interregnum of a few weeks after poor Marco's death when people/fans seemed to come to some realisation that all the riders were basically engaged in risking their lives for the entertainment of followers of the sport it was back to the usual backbiting in regard to unpopular riders.

Christ! ....... boppers are like one tired broken record. The same old ......... Stoner had the grit to beat the best on the ...... Ducati. He had the talent too. Just ask your god Vale, who said: "Stoner, he rides like a God".
You guys always view Stoner in terms of his years in the premiere class. If you read his bio, you might have a clue. Stoner put in a lot of years from a very early age, consistently beating more experienced riders, while using inferior equipment. The amount of hardship he underwent over the span of his career was phenomenal, constantly short of money for equipment and sometimes food.
He didn't retire for lack of grit. He retired because he was fed up with all the sleazy underhanded politics of racing, because of continued poor reception from Dorna regarding safety improvements, and because he was tired of all the wearisome media events that to his mind had little to do with racing. All of which, took all the satisfaction out of the one thing he cared about; racing. He met a great chick, got married and found that life as a family man, was more gratifying than racing.
There's way too many guys in racing who stick around year after year, when they're no longer competitive, because they never learned to live like a normal person, because they're not well rounded, they've become so narrowly focused on one thing and have none of the social skills required to live among people who have a life outside of the paddock. It's a well known syndrome with sports people and celebs in general who feel like they cease to exist if there isn't a a camera in their face or a crowd to cheer them on. Speaking of Rossi...

Every ....... word that comes out of your mouth - is a verbatim repetition of the same old cliches spouted by every other bopper who's come before you. You guys really need to chill on people with a different view of Stoner then yourself. People were around. They watched they can come their own conclusion but all I ever see is booper like reactions from you guy when people do. Quit trying insult your way to a winning argument. A bio is not proof of anything. It doesn't even seem to match with the reason he gave while retiring anyway. If that alone doesn't leave things open for debate then I think y'all need to take a step back.
