Stoner's mental weakness

Anyone who cries like a 5 year old when things go wrong is mentally weak. Stoner does this, he hasn't grown up properly, gets his own way and has lived a selfish life at the expense of his parents. He's still a kid - very fast and talented but not mentally in the right place. Stoner hasn't done his apprenticeship properly - through his impatience and intolerence of other riders who occasionally put him off. He got the ..... in the 125s because they were a pack of maniacs - didn't stay and win a championship. He got the ..... in the 250s because they too were dangerous - didn't stay and win a championship. Now he's in the top class and he's susceptible to things going wrong plus he hates close racing with people. He can't handle it when someone gets the better of him - Rossi 08 Laguna Seca, can't handle it when he crashes on the bike and has a bad day. He's forever giving people the finger or the fist whenever they get in his way. You can't fly off the handle or end up in tears every time something goes wrong. That is mental weakness. That is why for all the talent that he has, he loses fans. Being bullied and how you respond to it shows what type of person you are. Stoner goes away and cries.

Give one example of Stoner causing his parents undue grief.
<
What a load of ......... You're making stuff up out of thin air.

"Doesn't like close racing". Says who? Ever since the one incident where Rossi was out of control and rode off the track

and barged back on without being censured at Laguna - the Stoner haters have been using citing this incident as proof

that Stoner "doesn't like close racing." What horseshit. Stoner has had close racing with Rossi and Lorenzo many times

and any time he was beat fair and square - he was a good sport.

And so what if he gave someone the finger to a rider who was riding dangerously or irresponsibly? .... man... hardly three

days go by with me riding in city traffic that I don't flip the bird to some ....... who cuts me off while talking on his cellphone while driving his SUV through a red light. It's something guys do. Get over it.

a red light in his SUV.

Kesh, I really think we are done here.

Dude, I just got back from lunch just now. I actually just flipped the bird to this old lady who couldn't pick a lane as I tried to pass her rather nicely. For a moment I thought she was messing with me because I could see her look in the mirror a few times. When I did pass her she had some map in her lap. I flipped her the bird, and wouldnt you know, she flipped it back to me. Hahaha, this ..... was like 70 years old too. I swear it was so funny to see grandma do that it totally disarmed me. Old grandma is still living in the dark ages, I should have told here, "Yo, get a ....... GPS for Christ's sake". Hahahaha.

Compa, I flipped her the bird I started to feel a bit of shame you know, like I'm an ....... for scaring this little old lost lady. I got my nice, well defined middle finger up, the rest of my fingers smartly tucked back, you know, one of those good FU birds...then without skipping a beat, no hesitation, she flipped it back. I was stunned, mouth open briefly. And she flipped me back with that nerdy old person's middle finger that is all cheese ball looking. You know, that rather undefined middle finger with other fingers getting in the way and ..... Hahahaha. For a moment she made me double take like, 'hey, you wronged me lady, not the other way around.' ....... grandma!

Come from the one who calls me a bully.

Yeah flipping the bird is fine, its the people who loose all self control in the process that are the problem.

It's good to see a little fire in the posts.

I agree, Rossi does whine/complain do whatever to manipulate the situation and get his way. I don't think he is perfect. I just havent seen Lorenzo or Rossi in tears when they are confused. I've seen both angry and other things, I just haven't seen them fall apart emotionally. I have no time for that sort of stuff. Woods cried because his dad died (there is a reason), I can't ever remember Michael Schumacher crying but the guy was made of stone. People cry, some more easily than others. Stoner clearly does it more easily than others.

It will be interesting to see how Stoner goes on a Honda if he goes there. I guess if he starts winning there will be no need to cry.

For the record, I flip the bird to plenty of people when I'm driving. That just shows that I get pissed off and I want the other person to know that they are a tool. Falling apart because you've had a bad day shows weakness.

Lorenzo is tough and this year will be Rossi's ultimate test (one he's not winning at the moment). His opponent is on the same machinery, that machinery is working well and it will simply be who can set it up the best and then who can ride it round the track the best. No excuses if he loses. Their bikes are good, their teams are good, they are both fast. If I was wearing yellow glasses, I'd be making excuses, rationalising Rossi's performance and bringing down Lorenzo but I'm not. Should I talk about 2007 now... hehehe.

Ducati team manager and test rider Vito Guareschi says that a cold front tire is the only plausible explanation for Casey Stoner's demise at last week's French Grand Prix.

Stoner and Ducati now face the task of getting their championship campaign back on track at home at Mugello next week Sunday (6 June). Stoner won the Italian Grand Prix last year and a repeat win would be a massive confidence boost after his dismal start to the season.

Even with the cold front tire theory Guareschi says that he and Stoner do not fully understand the Le Mans crash -- it is still a "mystery" according to Guareschi.

The Le Mans crash was the third time this season Stoner has lost the front end. Twice, at the Qatar GP and in France, Stoner failed to score points and he is already 59 points behind championship leader Jorge Lorenzo just three rounds into the 2010 season.

Guareschi, Stoner, and crew chief Cristian Gabarrini conducted a lengthy debrief and analysis of data following the Le Mans debacle.

"It is strange because Casey and I don’t understand what happened at Le Mans," Guareschi said. "It is a really strange crash because normally when you lose the front it is when you are on the brake. This was a completely different crash to Qatar where Casey used too much front brake.

"This crash was on the exit and Casey had the throttle open 50% -- about normal -- and we think the front tire wasn’t hot enough. The front tire looks new and shiny but the rear is scrubbed.

"In Qatar he used too much front brake and he lost the front; the front fork was close to the bottom, 150 mm down, but at Le Mans the fork was almost fully extended and 20 mm away from the top, and Casey was not touching the brake."

Guareschi confirmed that it was rear set-up, not front, that had most troubled Stoner and the team at Le Mans. Stoner said that during practice he pushed the front to the limit trying to create Jerez-style problems but that everything was "perfect".

Guareschi explained the work done with the rear shock and the final settings which Stoner was happy with on race morning at Le Mans.

"We worked a lot with the rear shock because the problem was more in the rear than the front," Guareschi said. "Le Mans is strange because you don’t have grip in the flat corners and two corners have banking with a lot of grip. After the warm-up Casey was happy, everything was good."

Guareschi added that despite the cool front tire theory the circumstances of the crash were confusing and a precise reason still a mystery.

Dont forget, Terell Owens and Nancy Kerigan. Woods cried when his dad died, Federer after a win (tears of joy) . But Stoner cried because, he just cant figure out what is going wrong. Hell even Nancy did it out of pain. So the only one left is T.O. and like Stoner he cried because he is mentally weak. So do you cry over mental or physical pain, tears of joy, or do you cry when things aren't going your way? Like a mentally frail person.

Federer cried after being BEATEN by Nadal at the Australian Open final as well.

So where does that leave Federer?

A sore loser, mentally weak, what?

And me, I cry over spilt milk.

Yikes. I'm surprised Guareschi gave the exact suspension travel data. I hope he doesn't get in trouble.

Still good info, though. I think it was Spalding who said that the big bang engine had so much grip at the rear that it might be pushing the front. It doesn't sound like that happened at Qatar, but it is plausible for the LeMans crash. Dorna banned tire temperature sensors as well so Ducati are probably having extra problems diagnosing the temperature issues.

I just want to say I do not hate Stoner...and I really hope he gets back to form soon to run up with the front pack.....he is wicked when he has his race game dialed in and I think it will make Rossi and Lorenzo push harder and the races will be een better. Plus if Stoner is is up in the front pack...Hayden may push even harder and place higher (you know ....trying to beat your teammate first deal).

I want Rossi to get the all time wins so I will push for him to win first, but I want him to work hard for the wins and not get them from beating one fast guy (Lorenzo) all season.

Stoner’s mentality is just ‘RIGHT’ what everyone here doesn’t realize (because there either Rossi fans or someone else’s)is that Stone is a racer and a complete racer…what happened to Rossi in 2007….he tried to push the envelope & what happened or in 2006 the same…he crashed…what happened at ‘Mugello’ the same…what Stoner is & will be when that Duke comes good will be a like he was in 2007 & NO ONE will even come close to him…so plz don’t underestimate Stoner cause as he has shown at Mugello to get 4th place…HES A RACER…& that is irrespective of the equipment that he has…in aussie slag there is a saying…every doggy has his day…we have a very different attitude to all u Europeans that is why even if our resources are limited…we do well in every sport that we compete!

Put Lorenzo on a Duke & lets see how he ‘fairs’ hehehe (I bet worst then Nicky)…or why doesn’t Mr. Rossi want to get on a Duke??? After all that is his ‘National mark...or should I say the Italian Icon make’ Why??? Why??? Why does an Australian kid have to make the Duke an Icon??? I will tell u why…because Rossi will never ever be able to ride the Duke like Stoner!
