Spies says Stoner most talented ever

So Woody, are you going to ignore the elephant in YOUR room?

Sorry Bunyip, had a nightmare day at work. To answer your post, fair point, I should have said that my view is that man made global warming is a hoax. Before you say that you are correct, consider that most funding for climate change research comes from the industry itself and govt, the govt has taken a view and here in Australia suppress anyone with an alternative view. I thought we were in a democracy, not a communist country. There is too much money being thrown at it for anyone to admit that there are issues with the science and anyone in a govt funded organisation with a contrary view gets shown the door.

Anyway back to Spies comments. Stoner good, Rossi bad.
<

I don't think you in particular understand the context in which they are said. Your head starts spinning so fast when somebody gives Casey a compliment, you don't realize that they also consider him beatable. That doesn't quite paint the picture you are so desperate for everybody to buy. Did you miss that part of Spies commentary?

You may want to go back and read some of the comments by racing legends who spoke about Rossi when he captured his 100th win. They elevated him to a status much higher. Spies himself had some great things to say about Rossi. So while you're sputtering to get everybody to buy into your campaign for everybody to heed Spies as the Oracle of racer evaluations, you might want to read the bold part again. "...but like everyone he can be beaten for sure.”

Agree 100 percent Jumkie anyone can be beaten, anyone can win.

Buy the way what was the name of that Decond Tier Rider who who won the WC in 2006, i cant remember he has done .... all since...............

The problem with this issue is that it is now debated on political grounds ie anthropogenic climate change is something which people with left wing politics tend to believe in/encourage action concerning and therefore can be dismissed as left-wing posturing by those of other inclinations. Cartesian dualism aside, there does seem to be something called physical reality, and actual physics and chemistry etc which come into such things. As far as I can tell acidification of the sea seems to be a reality. Despite a fair grounding in science, and considerable mathematical ability in my youth, I don't think I have sufficient knowledge or mathematical ability at this point in time to debunk the current climate science and models pertaining to it; I am even more sure that shock jocks like alan jones (ex-english teacher, rugby coach, conservative political candidate and speechwriter), polemicists like piers akerman (current and former general dolt and corporate spokesman), or lord monckton (fine arts graduate) lack this ability. Actual geologists who disagree like ian plimer could also perhaps be considered to be prone to bias in view of their employment by mining companies, and reports (in the general press anyway) don't indicate any scientific reason for his disagreement.

Climate change has obviously occurred independently of human agency in the past, although not perhaps quite so rapidly, and I am willing to be convinced that the current climate science is wrong, but this needs to be on a scientific basis rather than a political one. I despise the australian greens party btw; they are basically imo anarchists/communists who have many political agendas more important to them than the actual environment.

You don't know them because the only thing you hear is 'Stoner good'. Barry, I don't take you seriously dude. All I use you for is my personal entertainment. Thats the only reason I actually quote you. To make fun of you.

Really who these days gives a damn what you take seriously Jumkie. You seem to be mostly just one of those annoying posters who rarely has an opinion about "the topic" rather you just like to tell everyone else how incorrect their opinion is. I have far more respect for Barry than yourself. Do I believe everything Barry says? No. Do I like all the emoticons? No. But I respect the fact that he puts out his opinion about topics that in a lot of cases (not all) have an amount of reasoning to back up why he thinks his point is correct.

On the other hand your arrogance that you believe that you are actually playing with and manipulating us is rather pathetic. Who is laughing at who? I know that Barry is laughing at you and you would probably be surprised at the number of others who are doing the same. Why don't you just piss off if this place has become so "neo"? Go start your own forum if you have so much confidence in your own place in the MotoGP community.

Please point out where I have called Rossi the goat.

Please point out where I said that 'you' have called him the GOAT. You implied that Spies has no credentials to claim Stoner as the most talented ever. I compared this to fans claiming Rossi is the GOAT and that comparison was based on Spies resume compared to any of those claim Rossi as the GOAT. I don't mean to point this just at you but in general their are posts here that are arguing that Stoner is not when someone who rides the bikes and has ridden and raced directly with and around Stoner is saying that in his opinion he is. Who do we give more credibility to? Talpa and Jumkie or Spies?

On the other hand your arrogance that you believe that you are actually playing with and manipulating us is rather pathetic.

No No ....... he's making me say everything I say and think. Which is pretty annoying cos there doesn't seem to be much, of his manipulations, I'm getting right ......... according to him! .

So if he is manipulating me to do and say just what he wants ......... either I'm pretty pathetic at being manipulated, or he's pretty pathetic at manipulating me, given that he's never happy with my "manipulated self"

Jumkie is a self obsessed "sociopath", sadly I think he has so little empathy that he actually believes that everybody else is just like him, and wants and needs everything he does, and even that they want to think like him.
<

And NEED jumkie does in spades.

Happy Birthday to an undisputed ' fastest and the most talented person that's touched a road racing bike' Valentino Rossi!

Its funny reading all these comments, especially the comments from Spies' new fans who now find it necessary to blow smoke up his arse because he complimented their golden boy!

Like others (myself included) have said, Stoner is indeed the fastest rider on the grid, his outright speed is bonkers but its not a time trial and i think he's got some way to go before being labelled as the best. As for being better than Rossi, we'll never know because your comparing 2 riders, 1 of which is at the peak of his career and the other who is winding down. Would love to have seen them race on the 500's...had both riders got into the series at the same time i don't think things would be quite so clear cut. If Rossi does indeed win even just 1 race on the Ducati, he will be labelled the best and the Stoner fans will have to like it or lump it...most probably the latter

Its party time. Lets all celebrate the birthday of Valentino Rossi--easily one of the ' fastest and the most talented persons that's touched a road racing bike'!

ITS PARTY TIME!

Damn, can you imagine if Stoners kid is born on Rossi 's birthday!. I can see him now, straddled across the birthing table, pushing on the babies head while screaming, How close is it to midnight!

That would be awesome.

I could see the seething at every bday party at the Stoner residence. Damn you Valentino!

FOAT sounds like a good title for CS. Everyone will have their own GOAT depending on what they like in their racing. Some guys have great records and accomplishments but they are hardly remembered while others get legendary status for the way they raced. All I know is that this year should be fun with closer racing and possible lap traffic to add to the race day action.

I think Ben is right. Casey has more talent than anyone in the current field. He may be closely followed by Jorge in finding a bike's limit. But, think about what such comments means from a racer like Spies' perspective. If Casey is naturally .5s better than anyone else on equal machinery, that doesn't mean he's gonna win everytime. That just means he can get closer to the limit of the bike and tires. He will be better on average, not always. Casey didn't win every race in 2007, 2008 or 2011. Racing is not time trials. It requires mental and physical preparation, discipline and fortitude. Spies and Jorge are probably the best example of why Stoner doesn't always win. Ben is more methodical than any other racer I've watched over the course of a weekend. The SBK title is proof enough. Jorge can be at 99% for an entire race. Nobody elese, save the old Nicky, is as consistent with fast laps. Nobody else I've seen is as composed.

In races like Jerez, where corner enrty is paramount, Casey loses. His advangage comes from acceleration performance.

When tire life comes into play, Stoner's brutal agression erases his gap.

In the rain, confidence and temperance matter. Hopefully, Casey remains a laggard in that department.

Stoner still behaves like a petulant child. Until that changes, he can be beat.

Excellent post Clark.

Any chance you can get down to Daytona in a month?

I dont have any statistics in front of me, but i would venture to say that Stoners wet weather results are as good as anyones., if not better

And i officially have to much time on my hands. Went back to 06-2011 and there has been 14 official wet races. Of those 14

Stoner 6 wins , 2- 3rds, 2- 4ths, 1- 5th, 1-6th,. 1-14th , and 1- taken out by his closest competitor in this comparison. It's actually not even close, Stoner is by far the master of wet weather racing.

There has never been any doubt about CS in the wet. Silverstone 2011.....................enough said.

Having said that, Chris Vermeulin was a noted wet weather freak. And then there was Ant West. On a very wet track, absolutely soaked, I could even be tempted to favour West over CS.

Aussies, in the driest continent, being fiendishly fast in the rain. Why? Apparently its all that slipping and sliding on dirt bikes for 10 years before they ever sit on a road/ track bike.

Hey Clark! Good to see your name on the board. Good post too.

Cheers,
