Unfortunately in 2022 when Marky wins his 10th consecutive world title in the premier class the human race discovers immortality and we have to suffer the pain of watching Marky win every race from now until eternity.

Maybe. But at a time Lewis Hamilton looked to be a wunderkind doing amazing things in F1. It didn't work out, and now he's an also-ran. Given how aggressive Lorenzo has been with MM, I'm wondering if Lorenzo is working out how to meet MM with his own game.

what? Lewis is widely regarded as the fastest driver on the grid currently...his car just isn't up to par

By who????

Sebastian Vettel is the fastest driver on the grid. I don't think you can really debate that considering his pace difference between his teammate, whereas Lewis and his teammate are pretty close in the standings. Vettel takes his car where his teammate can't even dream of taking it.

Maybe Lewis is faster over a single lap, sometimes... but that doesn't even matter. That's like saying Cal Crutchlow is the fastest rider in MotoGP because he does well in qualifying.

Have to disagree, and I like Lewis. The Mercedes was at one point considered the quickest car on the grid. I concede that the RB9 is now by far and away the hottest thing on four wheels (In Mark's case, literally) but there was a time that he should've been beating Vettel, and he knew it.

Lewis is capable of putting in that one flawless lap where everything comes together, hence why he's so .... hot at quali, and he is currently outdriving his car there, so good on him, but on race pace, I'd put him about evens with Rosberg.

As much as I hate the arrogant bugger, Vettel is measurably the quickest (I have a crazy theory that all cars being equal, Hulkenberg may edge it, but I can't back that up). I would still LOVE to see a race with him, Vettel, Lewis and Alonso all in the same car though.

That's easy. Anyone who has a differing opinion to mine. :p

Plus Lyria wants to have Seb's babies so you can't trust her judgement. :)

Where has she got to anyways?

Race of Champions for levelling drivers. Hamilton has never done well... looking at the list of winners, they all seem to come from the same branch of motorsport. The teams champions have seen Vettel and Schumacher win it a number of times.

14x speak da trooth

i'd deffo include kimi in the list though.i rate grosjean talent  wise (anybody remember gp2 andhis first f1 stint?) very high , so him outperfroming kimi a couple of times does not make kimi look bad.

i'm fairly confident that despite being a drunken party animal he can give alonso a good run for his money next year. he is that naturally gifted.

makes up for the disappointment that he won't be racing his bff vettel next year, that duel would have been one for the ages IMO.

hülk has proven himself in every category and car hes been given, theres absolutely no reason to believe he is not able to match the likes of rosberg and co.

good to see ricciardo stepping his game up and showing he is deserving of the RB too.

on topic:

stupid thread

I so want to see Kimi outpoint that humourless ...., Alonso.

Actually, what I really want to see is Kimi with a half-empty bottle of Finlandia, with some busty half-dressed piece on his lap, nailing doughnuts and giving the finger to the ....... Victorian Police Farce while driving an Atom V8 :D

I don't know .... about F1, but I do know Alonso is a .....  I heard there are strict team orders imposed in the sport, but I wouldn't mind if they let both of them off the leash to beat eachother up.  Maybe Kimi can get one of his hooker friends to ..... slap the Spaniard.

See, I don't really get the hate for Alonso and love for Vettel. Alonso is a bit humourless, but he always comes across as a decent enough guy, and if it weren't for him, 2012 wouldn't have been anywhere near as interesting. He's not my favourite driver (in fact he'd probably only just scrape current top 5) but he's good at what he does.

I dunno, maybe it's me. I usually find myself drawn away from supporting the guy who's running away with the title and toward the guy that's fighting him the hardest for it. By that rationale, Alonso is the Lorenzo of F1.

Yes team orders are allowed in F1 and Alonso benefits from having Felipe Massa be his ..... week in week out. Although I cheered the .... out of Felipe for ignoring them last weekend, but that's not Alonso's fault. All top teams use them to varying degrees (with possible exception of McLaren)

and as much as I rate Kimi (he easily makes said top 5. In fact he's still top 2 even after leaving my team) I disagree that he's one of the quickest. When people talk to me about people being quick, I equate that to raw pace, and it's not Kimi's strongest suit. I'd say Grosjean actually beats him on that front. What makes Kimi so awesome is he's extremely intelligent and has matchless racecraft. He doesn't get drawn into stupid ...., he just plays the long game. He's also the best overtaker in the field. he can create opportunities when other drivers wouldn't even think of them, and they're always clean (if slightly rude) going from 16th to 10th in 3 laps of a ...... designed track like Monaco is impressive by any standards.

Now I've gone massively off-topic here, and I don't care. I can't find an F1 forum that's as cool and laid-back as PS. So this is kinda your fault if you think about it. I got a 'formal warning' on the last F1 forum I went to soley for taking the piss out of Hulkenberg's weight!

Maybe we need an F1 thread in the 'cafe' forum? I'm in! :)

And agree about 'raw pace', but racing is so much more than the guy that can do the fastest lap. Look at Button. :) Kimi is immense on worn tyres.

Hate to point out the obvious, but 'Race of Champions' is hardly a better indicator of driving ability than the Formula 1 World Championship. Australia's team is made up of Mick Doohan and Jamie Whincup for ..... sake.

And there is an F1 thread - check in 'Other Motorsport Chat'.

Kimi is the single greatest person ever in F1. He will beat Alonso next year.

If that's the case, why do F1 drivers perform so badly in ROC?

IMO, the best drivers are in the WRC, as evidenced by the results in ROC.

And while I might not think Kimi is the greatest driver, I agree that he is the greatest person ever! Clarkson thinks he is, but he is wrong.

Yes, the best drivers are in the WRC. Anyone who can go flat stick on gravel through a Finnish forest and then do an post stage interview still sitting in the car like it was nothing takes proper skill. McRae in a WRX are what (my) dreams are made of.

when lorenzo snitches in front of a grand jury, supports racism, conspires to manipulate the races (well how the .... are you gonna win from 15th?), steals data AND looks like ....... don quijote .....

then and only THEN, are you allowed to mention the class act and great champion that is lorenzo in the same sentence as that sorry excuse for a human being

seriously, .... alonso.
