Worryingly - word is, he was very critical of Yamaha after the crash in Saturday warm up and said a few things that he shouldn't which upset the top brass. One hopes that Sunday may have gone a long way to ameliorating any damage to his career.

good call a interview here not the best Quotes ever

and if true about the rumours Cal might have all ready lost any chance of a yam ride

talking why this why that openly saying hes talking to others and questioning peoples decisions

Cal Crutchlow, this year's hottest prospect in MotoGP, is not certain what he'll be riding next year, questions the decision of his team to sign Bradley Smith and is critical of today's World Superbike riders.

On the eve of Britain's MotoGP weekend at Silverstone, Crutchlow confesses in today's issue of Bikesport News, at newsagents now, that he is talking to other teams including Ducati, as he does not know if he will have a berth in the Yamaha Tech3 garage.

"I'm looking elsewhere. Why they gave Bradley a ride I don't really know - you have to prove yourself to be in MotoGP. Obviously the ideal scenario is for me to stay with Yamaha ... but with Herve signing Bradley it is going to be difficult.

"I'm speaking to other teams and have opportunities to go to other teams. Casey's decision doesn't really us give any breathing space - I can go to other teams in the paddock. I am outperforming other guys in the championship."

Cal would like to see more British riders in MotoGP but struggles to see where they are coming from. "I can't see anyone coming through from Superbikes because the guys there were either not good enough for the World Championships or they are content to stay where they are forever.

"But I do hope they don't get stuck there forever. I hope we get fresh talent coming through, MotoGP needs it. And Brits can go fast, there is no doubt about that!"

yeah, rea for sure is 100% happy being stuck on a fireblade in wsbk

.....Also on Nissen brakes unlike the factory machines, and by choice running a rejected swing arm which Stoner and Pedrosa have already trailed but Alvaro favours

Tellingly he isn't encountering chatter or chewing rear tyres either.

Yeah, Marco and Alvaro were on practically identical machinery in 250's - but I don't recall even Marco ever doing this.....

Maybe because Marco was about 30 lbs heavier?

i agree with what you're saying, my point is just that with lorenzos obvious immense talent i wouldn't rule out him being able to change his style to also win on a honda.i rank stoner and him as the current best. what you say leads to reasonable doubt that lorenzo would be as fast, let alone faster than stoner on the honda (i'm not talking about ducati, that was a miracle in itself). but i also have my doubts that stoner would do as good on the yamaha as jorge, lorenzo rides the bike perfectly

Imo, spiteful or otherwise, stoner and rossi have both shown limitations (stoner can't ride this year's tyre on current evidence and couldn't ride the 2006 michelins, or at least the ones made available to him anyway), and rossi can't ride 800 ducatis (or 1000 ducatis thus far) which few if any would have predicted, but jorge has shown few limitations thus far in his maturity. It can only be speculated as to whether he might have limitations on a different bike than the yamaha which has always been well sorted, by rossi and coy previously and obviously by him and his team now; if he is as smart as he seems to be he may not give himself an opportunity to find out.

I strongly doubt stoner would be as good as jorge on the current yamaha while rossi might still be; in my obviously spiteful opinion rossi wouldn't ride the current honda better than stoner but might be able to sort it so that he could.

If Jorge goes on to beat Vale's record then good on him. Like Rog I've been a fan of Jorge since his 250 days. Unlike stoner fans, a lot of Rossi fans have been following go a long time, and have seen many greats come and go. My life does not revolve around Rossi, I'm a fan of Crutchlow, Lorenzo, Elias and Redding. You guys just go for the Rossi thing because no matter how you dress it up, Stoner will never have the career of the likes of Vale. Said it before a fully fit Jorge has the beating of stoner. If you are happy with spencer comparisons, that's cool, some of us were around when he became a total joke with half arsed comebacks that achieved nothing but wasting the time and money of teams. Though to be honest, in his prime he achieved so much more than casey ever did.

I am fairly indifferent when not annoyed by yours and roger's pathological hatred of stoner as to whether lorenzo gets close to rossi or not. Both are great riders.

I am actually probably 10 years older than you and if you think calling stoner spencer is insulting him it betrays your ignorance of the sport rather than mine. He was one of the most talented riders of all time and beat at least 2 riders who rate among the very greatest for his 2 premier class championships, and I don't see that any subsequent decline for reasons physical or otherwise which I obviously also observed has much to do with his magnificence at his peak.

People always forget Hayden in silly season comments, but I think he could have chances outside of Ducati. After all, he's the last man who won a title on a Honda 1000...

Im not ready to write off Hayden just yet. I don't thing he would ever be a championship contender again regardless of bike. Race winner definitely.

In six years on the Honda, he managed three wins and twenty-five podiums, including his championship year. Since 2006 he has managed 8 podiums, three fastest laps and a single pole position.

Why on earth would you think he was able to win a race on anything? He's done.

And please people, dont ....... spoil the Moto2 result as I think some of you might not realize us Americans don't see the races in order most of the time.

Perhaps going to a thread titled "Silverstone Race: Spoilers!" isn't the best strategy...?

I didn't see the race till last night - took the decision to keep away from newspapers and forums until after the replay...

Just sayin...

Because i believe Hayden's style is far more suited to the 1000's that the 800.

We have a moto2 and moto3 spoiler forum so no need to post those spoilers in the motogp spoiler thread. We took a vote on whether to do this and the vote was a resounding yes so please respect this !

I'd agree with this if he weren't on the Ducati all this time. Talent can get you just so far on a .... machine.

A title is a title. It will keep a person around. Not to mention he out works and out sells all tthem guys combined. I would like to see him get a Tech 3 seat. .... that little ginger.

Thanks for that reply. You have confirmed what I said about Spencer, he was an incredible rider who, like it or not became a joke. Coming back, then missing races, generally ....... teams up left his legacy tainted, which as you were in your 30s the last time he tried, (was it 93?) you will be very aware of. I have no worries about my knowledge of the sport, and pride myself on not being a member of the "google gang"

Your description of Rog and I having a pathological hatred of Stoner is a bit much however. It' no secret I don't like the guys public persona, he may be a great bloke at home with whatsername an the kiddie however, and if so good on him. I actually have a lot more issue with the blind Stoner fans who spout google acquired ..... on the forum, and cannot acknowledge that he makes mistakes, and is beatable. That rattles my cage. If what I say pisses off those that think GP began and ends with Stoner, then fine, the jobs a good un.

The other pish that annoys me is that someone always says I just don't like Stoner coz he beat Rossi. As I have made perfectly since day one, I support a number of racers, but I genuinely believe that Rossi stands up there with the greats, not only for his moto gp and 500 titles, but also for his wins in the smaller classes, and Suzuka. He has brought a tremendous amount of support into GP, both financial and with his huge fan base, and lets not forget, when Stoner came to GP, Rossi was the benchmark as to who you had to beat. Stoner and Lorenzo became the riders they are today because they had to beat Rossi. No arguement there.

Funny how none of the pathological Stoner haters are neglecting to whine about Cal's whining or fainting in their hankies because of his poor PR skills.

Bollocks! They were and are both very talented riders who had to struggle against the tide of blind Rossi-mania induced incapacity in the fans that would not permit anybody to acknowledge any rider as being great other than the Rossi. To say they are great only because of him is a myth on par with Rossi being the world's greatest development rider - a fairytale that has been put to rest over the last 14 months or so.

He's not bitching he's just complaining.

I like his attitude. Closer to Colins than Stoners imo. Last year I was not a fan of Calvin, but this year hell yea. But I think everyone has sad this was a bonehead move, but it does help that he is right.

Well best change the thread title to "Silverstone MotoGP Race: Spoilers!"

Perhaps there needs to be a 'rules' thread - because forums are ever so static and everybody goes back and reads every old post, don't they?
<

.... me but I've never been to a more unwelcoming forum as this one... rules for everything, except those with post counts in their thousands.

It would be interesting to compare the number of accounts with the number of regular posters... I now remember why it was I didn't post for a year.
