I agree that your anti-stoner animadversions are not infrequently leavened by humour and wit. You might be more credible about this always being the case if you didn't get so peeved on occasion when others reply in a manner which they might consider to be in kind, even if you do not.



What occasionally annoys me after the odd glass of wine, as it does in general in any kind of debate without alcoholic assistance, is the notion that others are biased/immature fan boys or their equivalent/lack insight/don't understand irony while the arguer is just telling it like it is.

Take the stoner and lorenzo out of it and you could say its thanks to Rossi that Rossi himself is such a great rider. Actually interesting he has continued to be motivated for so long. Despite what I figured with him being more in it for the fame he must have equal measures of inspiration that also came from within. So looks like we are just causing a lot of hassle picking on the minor differences between our chosen ones but hey what else is there to talk about?

Fair call mate, like I say above, its when someone has a go at me because in their opinion, I'm only interested in Rossi, and am blind to everyone else. I have said many times that Rossi's move to Ducati was pure vanity, and has bitten him on the arse big time. In my opinion, it was not the stage in his career to throw the toys out and storm off. It is possibly one of the worst career moves ever in the sport. I've said this many times, but still I'm a bopper who only watches because all I see is yellow. That .... bugs me.



I have also said for a long time that Lorenzo is the future of the sport, and stick by this. I have also said on many occasions that Stoner is an incredible rider, who has raised the game again, hence Jorge has had to raise his game. It's all natural evolution, that No 1 makes you a big target to the others. That is why I say that facing Rossi, as he was, was motovation for Jorge and Casey. The flip of this is that Rossi had to raise his game to beat Stoner in 08 and 09.

Sure. I have made no secret that my direct contemporaneous observation of the sport only goes back to 1986, it being impossible for australians even of my advanced years to directly follow the sport prior to then since that is when television coverage started in Australia. I hence only saw fast freddie spencer in his decline, but his pomp was spoken of in hushed tones by the commentators, and if he could beat eddie lawson, most of whose peak I did see, in 2 championships he must have been fairly good, as he must have been to beat a rider of krsr's record , of which I was aware when the only thing resembling google related to a mathematical term.

I am responding to remarks by you to the effect that Lorenzo and Stoner's accomplishments are only measurable with Rossi as the yardstick. Seem like no discussion of Stoner can be had on this forum without Boppers needing to include Rossi in the discussion. Without mentioning the name of the great one - nothing else has any context.



Your tongue in cheek remarks are hard to discern because your wit is so greatly overshadowed by the bile you display when speaking of Stoner and for that matter Spencer. That you find humor in Spencer's failings after burning himself out in the process

of a superhuman feat (two side-by-side world championships in one season) makes much of your humor seem pointlessly baffling and ignoble.

I think what we are seeing is a transatlantic humour misunderstanding of epic proportions, what may be seen as bile to some would be seen as a good bit o banter by others. I've never met Casey, how can I hate the guy? I wish no harm on a hair of his (admittedly, not very good looking) head. We have a pretty harsh sense o humour over here, it's coz we are so bitter at being cold all the time. Even worse when the crims we deported are in a sunny country. Epic fail right there.



Hey, you seem a decent guy for a guitar player, don't take it all literally. I'm taking the piss out of the ones who see Stoner as unbeatable. The ones who say crap like, if Stoner had been racing in 2002 he would have won on the Suzuki. My point is history cannot be rewritten, Stoner is human, he ..... up, Rossi has ...... up more than anyone in the last 2 years.

I did what? I didn't post a spoiler. I didn't make a mistake. I merely pointed out that reading a thread titled 'race spoiler' then complaining that people might post race results isn't the most sensible course of action.

No doubt the michelin front was a problem for him in 2006, not least by his own account after he was no longer under contract to them. He obviously never had the opportunity to do so, but he has never demonstrated he could have ridden a different 2006 michelin front better, and the tyre that suited rossi, pedrosa, melandri etc then may not necessarily have suited him on current evidence.

I put it down to him being a rookie with massive bollocks. He binned it because he over-rode what he had, not because he 'couldn't ride' what he had. He rode it just fine... just didn't know his limits. He DNF'd in 7 out of 16 races. Not a good start to a career, but he proved categorically that it wasn't that he 'couldn't ride' anything in 2007. He isn't Rossi, FFS.

In EVERY other forum I frequent - and there are many, the reason the word 'SPOILER' is put in the title is to ensure that those that don't wish to know the results don't inadvertently read them.



How about a little bit of personal responsibility?
