I thought rather than the fragmented discussion for silly season that's going on we could have one thread

Off the top of my head. Will update when needed.

Much as I'd like to see another competitive Brit in moto gp Rea just hasn't got the extra nth of speed and talent to be worthy of the Repsol seat.

And Redding and probably Smith are goners i reckon

I think Smith has a future in being a test rider, very good at translating his feeling on the bike into technical detail.
Redding could be good in moto 2 with the bigger engine.

Smith went well at tech 3 but it's all gone to .... at KTM, it's going to be interesting to see how Zarco goes next year, they are going to have to make a massive leap forward or he might struggle to make the top 10,i think he should have gone with Honda if he was going to get Pedrosas ride, i hope they prove me wrong but i reckon KTM are a long way from having a podium bike even with Zarco on it.

Redding said last year that he would rather kill himself than go to WSBK.
So I am guessing it will be Moto2 for him.

I didn't know that Repsol were talking to Rea. Would be great to see him in MotoGP and on a good bike. He said previously that he didn't want to make the switch without a top ride, a Repsol Honda RCV fits that bill perfectly.

Mir and Suzuki is a done deal.

Iannone is going to Aprilia.

Lorenzo is leaving factory Ducati and his seat will be taken by Petrucci. He might end up on a Yamaha in VDS but that's only an idea right now.

Big question mark for HRC that is apparently not signing Pedrosa hence the 2 questions: where will Dani go (KTM tech3?)? Who will take his seat?

Things are so odd on the Lorenzo thing ...... Im starting to wonder if he will be the new HRC rider.

What a team that would be!

I'm hoping so. Lorenzo being on second rate machinery or not on the grid would be such a shame.

Can you honestly see JLo playing Dani's role of 'humble support rider' for MM? :giggle:

If this Suzuki shot is gone then JLo best go talk to Tech 3 (second factory KTM team) or start looking at MotoE or WSBK for 2019....

I cant ..... are you suggesting that you can!? Or even that you expect thats what Honda would want

In your dreams :D:D

I think HR want a rider that will listen when told to go to Mapping 8 vs one that will not.....but i am sure JLo can be humble when the money is right....

My gut reaction to what you are saying is ...... you are not right.

But really after quite bit more thoughtful consideration
, research and taking into account what you have said, I must conclude that ... you are incorrect,

No they can't. They don't care as long as they are winning riders, constructors and team titles. If someone came better than Marquez he will become the backup just as quick as he became the alpha dog. HRC are ruthless.
They will always believe that the likes of Marquez can't do what he does without the engineering prowess behind him, and they are mostly right.

There would be no elbow saves from a low side on an NSR500 or RC211V.

Based on what?

Based on the fact that no traction control system from that era was sophisticated enough to keep the rear right side up when one is at 60 degrees lean angle, saving the front and opening the throttle to shift the weight to the rear.

I'm fairly certain Marquez didn't develop that tech.
