Silly Season 2012

Well let me put it this way, if my mother had criticised the respective careers of Mick Doohan & Rossi that way I would give her a slap.

My girlfriends dad is a huge drinker and the way that is written sounds just like him,not slagging just saying it the way i see it.

Not you GB mad mary.
<
well I sounded like one too

Nothing that labels Rossi as anything but God makes sense to you so not surprised. But I will break it down for you.

Lorenzo was most likely going to go on and win championships for Yamaha for many years into the future as their lead rider because with no Stoner there is no rider including Rossi who is at the same level. Rossi, Ezpeleta and Rossi's fans will no way allow Rossi to be a number 2 rider. This will jeopardise Lorenzo relationship with Yamaha and therefore the likelihood of him staying with Yamaha and hence the reason I have predicted that Lorenzo will never sign with Yamaha again. When Lorenzo leaves and Rossi retires or goes to WSBK in 2015, Yamaha will be left without a WC rider. Lorenzo will go to Honda with Marquez and Honda will go on to win WC after WC. Rossi's legacy will be that he will leave Yamaha with no WC rider. He has virtually killed Ducati and he will inflict damage long term on Yamaha as well by making them lose Lorenzo.

Note: This is a FUTURE prediction and is 100% my opinion. No FACTS have been quoted in this post due to my lack of possession of a fully functioning time machine.

???? Rossi a god? Not from my mouth. He's a fantastic rider, but he certainly has his faults, I'll be the first to admit that.

I'm not saying I didn't understand your post, just that it didn't make any sense. The breakdown wasn't necessary.

Take a step back and look at the hypocrisy.

Many moons ago Yamaha hired a guy to make the team stronger, the top rider didn't like it, had a fit, left.

You're suggesting that if Yamaha today hires a rider to make the team stronger, the top rider won't like it and will leave.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm getting from you Rossi is the bad guy in both scenarios. That doesn't make sense to me. You can have one or the other but not both ways. You're a smart guy, I'm sure you can see this.

Difference between Lorenzo being signed to Yamaha vs. Rossi being signed now to make the team stronger is that in the Lorenzo case it was done in search for progression and talent development for a future champ.

The champ was made, so Rossi had reason to not want Lorenzo on Yamaha. Scared of the futures?? Lorenzo is now a stronger rider than his ex teammate.

If Lorenzo is annoyed, which I suspect he should be, I don´t think it´s because he sees Rossi as a real sporting threat, more of a pain in the ... constant comparo and scoutiny circus for the next year.

This is more than a little contradictory, im sure Jorge would not care at all about comparisons in the circus providing he was beating Rossi week in week out......

If he is pissed at all it would be because Rossi is a sporting threat, as he was last time they were teammates and Rossi got the better of that battle over three years.

IMO Jorge isn't really pissed, he knows the importance of having good competition next season, and having a title sponsor again.

Lorenzo did not go to Honda because he knew that Rossi would then have been in Yamaha as #1 rider, and he feels much more in control as #1 rider at Yamaha fighting Rossi as a teammate, rather than fighting Rossi on an unknown Honda, however good the bike might be.

I imagine he (and Jarvis as well) would have preferred Rossi to stay at Ducati and rather keep Spies, but at Yamaha headquarters they see big sponsorship and marketing benefits in Rossi finishing his career as a Yamaha rider, even if he doesn't win much any more.

Pretty dumb move by the doctor in my opinion. If he goes to yamaha even my dead grandfather would expect him to be competitive and being competitive in front of young brilliant riders like Lorenzo, Crutchlow, Pedrosa, Bradle, Hayden etc is hell of a Hard work. Not worth the risk he is going to take. I would like him to win 1 or 2 races next year with the red team and the help of Ducati and retire safely after two years. he has done everything and He doesn't need to prove himself anymore.

He's already had two years of doing it your way. If it's tough going, riding against younger riders while on the Yamaha - it's 1000 to 1 against doing it on the Ducati.

If you're racing - you have something to prove. Period.

so it seems dovi has signed for ducati

all brit tech3 next year then.i hope yamaha (and honda for bradl) change their mind about not having a 3rd full factory supported bike in tech3 like it was the case with spies/ sic

krops tweet.

nothing substantial let alone official, but if kropo tweets hes heard that a contract is signed i'm inclined to believe

especially given how quiet its become about crutchlows chances at duc

I hope thats true so Cal gets no1 status at T3 on a very capable bike and should be on the podium often, but i do think Cal would have gone well on the Desmo and Dovi will struggle with his style.
