Ducati & Ferrari get away with it, I can't see why Yamaha can't as well provided they don't make it too obvious.
Well if they run a red & white livery for Laguna ( a place where they have favoured a livery change) & then decide to stick with it for the rest of the season it wouldn't surprise me.
Or it just has to be carefully handled, they have to think of a new way around the ban.
There was an exccellent article somewhere (may have been Krop's site) that outlined the issues that would need to be faced and addressed but in essence it related to the 'sudden' change of corporate colours for Yamaha could well set off alarm bells in the relevant regulatory offices.
Ducati and Ferrari get away with it because their colours have always been red whereas Yamaha have alternated.
Additionally as you would have noticed, the level of obvious branding sponsorship has dropped and now there is no 'Marlboro Ducati/Ferrari' with the teams now being referred to as Ducati/Ferrari only.
No doubt Marlboro will try should they so choose but they may well be up against a larger opponent than the opinions of forum members like ourselves
don't often go here for MotoGP news, but thought I would throw this on the silly season pile.

considering the manner in which has frequently out-paced Rossi on equivalent equipment this season (equipment that has been desperately developed and redeveloped in hopes of shaping it to Rossi's liking).
I hope the the top ten riders that are over 5ft 5in quit and move to WSBK.. And take the motogp.con commentatrs with them .
What's so radical about a chassis? I don't think anyone has said anything about radical but most of the complaints are about not enough being done. Only a complete ..... would think a new design could be successful on the first attempt. Okay they got another company to build a frame, yeah that's radical. God forbid they do anything else after they see that the bike still can't turn. Be careful what you ask for Jums, next year you'll be the one crying about Ducati not doing anything when Nicky becomes the number 1. It looks like he's the next man up and everyone else is only going to get better, if they don't get that bike to turn it's gonna be a long year for you. Better hope they listen to JB before he's gone. Its a decent write up. Thinking out loud mostly, but it was a good recap of the situation. I'm done hoping he stays with Ducati. I'm now fully hoping he gets dropped from the factory, as God knows Nicky never leaves on his own despite as they did at HRC, have their foot on his throat. He simply isn't built to be as assertive as Ben Spies' MOM. However, I'm not so sure I'd want to see him in Wsbk. I'm now hoping he will retire from roadracing, and go back to flat track to chase that elusive mile win and etch his name into a very short list fraternity of men who have achieved the Grand Slam.
Btw, I though this quote from the article was interesting:
The article also mentions the Wsbk next generation Ducati as inspired by the now scrapped MotoGP concept. Shhhh don't tell anybody that Ducati have thrown away their long standing DNA over one man's career within 6 months. Some actually think Ducati haven't done anything radical.
