<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (somedamnwriter @ Apr 14 2009, 01:15 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}><div class='quotemain'>you may be right, but it would have been incredibly great if you can provide evidences for your argument because, you see, as far as i know vale had been from one team to another even before he came to MotoGP and time and again he proved that he can be fast on any bike. Stoner, on the other hand (and this is not discrediting him), switched from LCR Honda to Ducati and proved that he was fast. So if you think about it, Vale has the better record of the two.

but like I said, you may be right. you just have to prove to us you're right.

Vale went from Honda to Yamaha for the challenge. He has made Yamaha now. Where are Honda? If Vale had gone to Ducati it would have been too easy. That Duke has KC in mind and even Hayden with his inbuilt rodeo~riding advantage cannot control it.

testing times are meaningless when ordinary rider like hayden comes into question. when the flag drops the ........ stops.

You have just proved your own theory wrong. The ........ goes on and on and on. Before during & after the race.

casey set 55.8 with full tank and on cold tyres (lap2).... 58.2 with with 20 kilos lighter bike (ok tyres worn out meantime) promising...

Ah Pinky! you are person with a "first derivative mind".
<

I'm looking at it second derivative ( with respect to his laps run ), ie. the change in Hayden's performance, over the course of the race when compared to anyone in the field ...... is pretty impressive.
<

To see what I'm on about, plug the results into excel and run a trendline ........ does anyone else show that "developing fast" slope?

No .... thought not.

SUre he's not there yet, and his performance may flatten out prematurely, but it does look good.

lol

just look at de angelis laptimes on non factory honda. in second part of the race he maintains his pace from the first part running into 57s except for last 2 laps when he settled for position. much more impressive than hayden's improvement because hayden had more space for improve after awful first 10 laps when he mainly posted 59s.

and Elias is supposed to have the factory equipment

i was really disappointed with his performance over the whole weekend.

It is way to early to say but Kallio looks set to take the seat. IMO Hayden has to podium within 6 races to be considered a contender for the seat next year. No pressure. The days of turning 150 laps to get used to the bike and its nuances are long gone. I hope he does the job but seriously there will be summer break deadline in Ducati's mind I would expect. If it is over at the end of the year he can look back and say he's had a damn good run and better than most.

That he has already had a whole year one hasn't he?

Given that this was Hayden;s first race on the Ducati, as well as Bridgestone, then the question is ..... " How is Nicky adapting to the Ducati/bridgestone ?" we have to ask "how is his performance changing ?" ..... not just "what is it at the present time?".

So since you want to make a prediction so early, you only have data that is currently available. That being the qatar race. And all that shows is that Hayden improved his lap times quite dramatically over the course of that 1 race. And that was after he had been injured just a few days before.

I am hoping he does get up to around at least a fifth place position by the next few races, as that will help Casey immensely ( wait ..... "the Professor" I should call him since Rog, hates me mentioning his name

Agreed. And usually the last few laps are slower, as if you push the bike, the tires are gone by then. It showed he was trying to recover from his high-side in practice, and was using this race almost as another test. He knew after the crash, the weekend was a wash.

casey won his first race for duc... rossi won his first race for yam... horhi as a rookie won his third race for yam... pedrosa also as a rookie won his fourth race on 990 honda...

top 5? no way... stoner, rossi, lorenzo, dovy, pedrosa, colin, both suz, kallio... impossible task... top 10 is the best case scenario for most undeserving ex title holder ever...

I was struggling ... I was in sixteenth and probably trying to hard to get a good grid position and made a mistake. I was on personal best. I had two blue helmets ... but the tire on the left was probably not so hot but just honestly it was rider's fault, really. No excuses," Hayden said. "It was in the left-hander. I flicked it left and ... it let go."

honest statement from hayden finally... his mistake nothing wrong with the bike as some of his fanboys suggested in other threads

Finally? He said this days ago.

Oh dear oh dear.....................

I cannae believe someone has a Puig quote as a sig and expects to be taken seriously.

Because obviously Hayden has nothing like the amount of Motogp titles that Dani has................

Oh sorry wait a minute, Dani is the guy who has won jack ...., and Puig is the guy who lifted no titles before hitting an air fence....Looks like Nicky has got both them beat.

Pinky, why spout the same pish with different names?
