May as well get this .... started.

Vinales is the favorite to win this race obviously.

VR may do well here. Unsure about MM.

We'll hopefully find out something more about the factory Ducati.

Hope everyone from the forum who is travelling to TX for the race has a safe and enjoyable trip! Hoping to get out there in 2018.

Just a couple from my last year there . If the picture doesn't tell you, I am going with 93, AGAIN. In fact, I am going with him until the season ends. I have to be right once, or Vinales could get every win and a record that he may not deserve.

This is the last time before a race weekend I will pick MM to win. If he doesn't preform well here, we might as well just start every thread talking about tires. Because barring an injury or something this will be the shortest season in motogp history.

1.Marc
2. .... does any other position matter this weekend?

Marquez is the favorite to win... he's also the favorite to experience psychological trauma if Vinales wins.

Hoping both Rossi and Vinales beat Marquez... I want this forum's haters to be so pissed off they'll be busy posting 2,000 word dissertations about tire, electronic, and race control conspiracies after race.

But... but... Marc's bike only makes 100 hp and has a chassis made by Schwinn. But... Michelin must have made special tires for the Yamaha. Rossi installed ultrasonic sound generators around the track and they're specifically tuned to distract Marc's concentration. 10 years ago Rossi had a special tire, so that's proof he received another one in April of 2017.

Awesome picture of Marc!

COTA seems to be one of those circuits that just offer some brilliant photo opportunities.

Certainly most circuits have great spots but for me, COTA due to design has such a different style of opportunity due to the large levels of tarmac and paint .......... almost 'industrial' like when compared to PI for example.

It definitely does.

While the photo opportunities are quite good there, I'm not much of a fan of the circuit. It's a giant ripoff of other circuits' ideas. It doesn't have the natural flow a Phillip Island has. Being that it was the first purpose built grand prix track built in the USA in modern memory, I felt it received far more accolades than it was deserving of. But, motorcycle racing seems to go better there than any of the auto races held there to date.

I'm not even picking Marc to win this.

I expect Vinales to, but if Marc manages to extend his streak here, it will be a nice surprise.

I am going with Marc at COTA, Rossi 2nd, Mav 3rd... This is Marc's track, Rossi needs to finish in front of his teammate to save some face. Dovi has also run good here.

I agree. My pick is based on hope for a good season to come. Not that I'm type to not watch because its a runaway. Credit where credit is due. There will still be a lot of parody behind him. Oddly this is a strongest group of talent I remember seeing including how well the rookies are riding. The reason I say odd is because with all that said the early favorite is not someone expected. So to me this season is shaping up to be special regardless.

Who is hating on Vinales? We all hate Rossi, except you and those other two dummies, but that is different. Just Kidding!

I left another site because the Rossi fans cheered for other racers crashing. Do people cheer for Rossi crashing here? I don't think that I have seen that. While your fights with other members can get intense, sometimes you need to let-things-go and express your desires without the vitriol. JPSLotus seems capable of doing that. I am sure that you are capable, too.

Ugh. A run-away championship is not special, except in a truly surprising year like 2007. If Vinales runs away, I think it is the bike differences and not the rider difference, this year. I hope we never see total domination ever again, including this year.

I arrived at this forum years ago... I was a fun-loving Rossi fan just wanting to share some yellow joy. This forum has given me psychological trauma and my health insurance will not cover it.

What the members of this forum to whom you refer are mainly characterised by is a distaste developed over many years for the way other more than worthy riders have been treated by the Valeban, which it is now clear is significantly instigated by Rossi rather than him being an unfortunate bystander who just happens to have crazy fans.

So you have it 180 degrees wrong, if we hate anything it is the hatred of other riders by Rossi's crazy fans. If you are among their number as appears to be the case I guess your lack of insight is unsurprising, however.

Wrong. Your clan doesn't post countless conspiracies about Rossi's fans, Rossi is their target.

What I dont get is why these ......... dont realise yet ..... that Vinales is whooping rossi. Blinded by the hate they already know :rolleyes;

Wonder how much longer the " love for Vinales" is gunna last?

Round 4 ...... I say ..... "Vinales did this" .... "Vinales did that" will start.

I am waiting for the spanish mafia stories to start up if MM, MV and JL are seen in close conversation (which let us be fair, is not going to happen at a pre-race press conference or post race conference any time soon)

So once more in the absence of arguments we are back to that?

Dorna and Carmelo himself in particular are fairly obviously strong Valeban adherents in the view of those you dispute, what he and Dorna do is usually far from covert, and you guys haven't really ever been able to come up with any counter arguments. As we debated ad nauseum on the last race thread (you initiated hostilities on this one btw) even JPS and I don't consider any of his actual titles fraudulent, and my personal main objection is to the treatment of the winners of 9 of the last 11 titles, with your current attitude to MM an example of same in relation to the rider most recently added to the list of riders to be derided.

You also continue to fail to explain why a few guys on here having a jaundiced view of Rossi as opposed to the yellow hue beloved of his adherents is so problematic in the face of immensely greater criticism of other riders in the wider world, and your boy's own lunatic conspiracy theory, much more of the "aliens in the closet" variety rather than the "is there oil in the desert" variety prominent on this forum as Birdman has said.

Don't want Marquez to win this year or if he does it can't be more than .01 , much rather see Dani win one. And Rossi to beat Vinales .

I would actually quite like to see Dani win.

I could see circumstances in which he could beat MM actually. Can't really see him beating Vinales or Rossi though unless HRC make a major breakthrough with their bike which would have to be ECU related since the problems with the tractability of the bike would seem engine related and it is hard to do anything Rngine-wise within a season these days.
