Rossi's Legacy Tainted

Every year like clockwork some new-kid-in-town shows up here...

Hmmm... Cannot agree with this one Kesh. mt1960 has shown better than average GP knowledge and presented salient posts. Though I haven't (and am not going to) gone back and looked at all his posts my sense is one not of baiting but of response to typical PS posturing and pedantics. It is undeniably difficult for a newbie to comprehend the history and incestuous subtleties of our little space but I think mt may well fit in just fine!

P.S. - can't resist... mt may not be empty after all!!

Every year like clockwork some new-kid-in-town shows up here and refutes accepted logic and wisdom and goes around abusing everybody with over the top insults bravely said to people whom he wouldn't have the balls to even talk to in real life. And after a while when they realize that nobody really gives a .... about what they have to say when they realize that the grown-ups are just bored with their childish taunting - they fade away.

There are, on this forum, a number of people who have vibrant, combative discussion in the course of a thread - and when things get heated - there is an understanding that it's all in fun.

But so far all your posts have been snotty internet-.... bating of other people. You haven't yet raised a serious salient point in any discussion. You're just another internet-twit with misdirected anger that you should be expressing to Mommie and Daddy. Why not do us all a favor and go hang out on Crash.net with your fellow miscreants. While you're a legend in your own mind, we've seen your act before. It's boring and repetitive. There's no prize for making the greatest number of pointless and foolish posts on this site. There's nothing here for you to "win". Save your breath. You're strictly a "been-there-done-that" proposition. I know you think you're a rebel, an enfant terrible and that you're stirring up ....; but the reality is, to us you're more like a monkey mindlessly throwing around his feces.

This.

I didn't start anything. But I am not about to back down when a knob, such as yourself, tries bully-boy tactics. I'm quite happy to stick up for myself.

That will be you, will it? Being adult...

Oh yeah, that was blindingly obvious - that your derision was all in fun. how thin skinned of me...

Ummm - no they haven't, that's .........

Yes I have, that's .........

Mommie and Daddy died some many years ago... as a grandfather of many, I always get a laugh from internet tough guys throwing their (no doubt impressive) weight about...

Nah, I think I'll stick around - at least to keep big-heads, like yourself, honest.

I've taken the high road and ignore any post with his name at the top.

I haven't read what he posts as I prefer reading intelligent opinions about MotoGP.

...

And, like anything else in my life, if I'm wrong, I'll happily admit it... unlike some who seem to have the moral fibre of a damp piece of spaghetti with an ego the size of their voluminous arse..

Not exactly sure what raised Kesh's ire but if ya do stick around you'll find he is the farthest thing from a big-headed, bully boy, american knob - and a fit pentageneriain to boot!

I resemble that! Well, most of it... my wife thinks I'm a dork...

OK, I'll take it under advisement - they all look the same to me... thanks.

Seriously - this forum is not about popularity contests and we sure aren't a bunch of Pollyanna goody goody types - but if you want to get the most out of what is available here - coming at

every discussion with two guns blazing and every other statement peppered with insults - isn't the best way to

get this place. A lot of really cool members of this forum have left because they got tired of the endless

negativity and boring-... feuds that this engenders. And really - don't be so thin-skinned and defensive.

You might actually enjoy this community and make some friends.

Keshav .............. Talpa and Jumkie are agreeing with you .............. ( even though they fit your spiel there to a tee

coming at every discussion with two guns blazing and every other statement peppered with insults

Except I didn't.

I got the redneck welcome and a bunch of dismissive posts from some ......s that had nothing to offer except he waggle of their willy. If I am expected to just doff my cap and accept that, then maybe you need to write some rules and explain that until you have proven yourself, you are a 'prospect' - otherwise they can piss off.

I don't care who they think they are. Post counts mean nothing. If they were right, I have no problem admitting I am wrong. If it is a matter of opinion, I have as much right to one as the next guy - their longevity on here doesn't confer them some special sauce.

I don't go looking to start ..... But I am a big boy and very capable of looking after myself if some other tool decides he doesn't want to play nice. I am all for vigorous discussion, but questioning a statement is not, to me, disrespectful. It looks like some 'special' members got all twisted out of shape at being asked to justify an unsubstantiated post. If they are too much of a fanny to do so without getting all bitchy and upset, that isn't my problem.

They should grow up and realise, as you said, it isn't a popularity contest. As to being thin-skinned - I think you were reading the other guys posts... I am hardly thin-skinned. But I give as good as I get. You disagree, I have no problem with that, but you need to substantiate your argument, not just descend to snotty schoolboy taunts.

Are we done now?

This old Kropo report makes me chuckle...

How Ducati Fixed Casey Stoner's Front End Woes

Submitted by David Emmett on Tue, 2010-10-26 21:54.

Casey Stoner's 2010 MotoGP season has been blighted by crashes. Starting at Qatar, where the Australian crashed out while leading the race after dominating throughout practice, Stoner faced a number of front end issues with his Ducati Desmosedici, adding a second crash at Le Mans to his troubles.

Things started to improve from Mugello, where Stoner's side of Marlboro Ducati garage decided to go back to the narrower forks they had used in 2009, and the crashes stopped happening. This still left Stoner struggling with front end grip though, and unable to find a setup that he felt comfortable enough with to push at the front. EDIT: Sound familiar?

That all changed at Aragon: Casey Stoner's team finally found the solution they had been chasing, and since making those changes to the bike, Stoner has gone on to win three out of four races, dominating in eerily familiar form. Only an early race crash at Sepang prevented Stoner from making it four in a row, the Australian doing penance by destroying the rest of the field at his home Grand Prix at Phillip Island.

So what caused this turnaround? What changed between Misano and Aragon, that allowed the Australian to shine once again? After the race at the Motorland Aragon circuit, Stoner explained to journalists what changes had been made to the setup of his Marlboro Ducati that had made the transformation possible.

Ha! What was the magic cure?

Tell ya later...

Riding position further forward? Wasn't it?

Yep! We have a winner!! The simple answer was to make Casey more comfortable!

The team had identified Stoner's reconstructed wrist as the cause of the problems, and adjusted the bike accordingly, Stoner explained.

"Basically, I don't have the mobility in my wrist after the bone graft," Stoner told journalists. "[The bone graft has]completely locked my wrist in a lot of areas, and I can't get the same movement that I can on the other one for the inside of the corner."

The solution, Stoner explained, was to change Stoner's seating position on the bike. "We just put my weight further forward so I don't have to do it physically like I used to. I used to maybe go into a corner, get myself a little bit further forward, get the weight over it. Now we've just done this setup-wise." The change had literally made Stoner more comfortable on the bike, having reduced the stress on the Australian's shoulder, he explained. "It's actually taken a lot of weight off my shoulder. Normally, my shoulder really hurts during the end of every session. After every race, my left shoulder is just destroyed. And [Aragon] is a left-hand track with a lot of left-hand braking points, and I didn't have any problems."

The team had moved Stoner slightly further back, but stretching him out at the same time. "I've basically lengthened from the beginning of the tank to the handlebars, they're further away as well. By doing that, stretching me out a little bit, but at the same time, putting my weight forward, it's balanced me out quite well."

Funny reading it later.

So Rossi needs a bone graft in his wrist?

Nah, but I guess the point is if yer not comfortable ya can't kick it! Just a matter of what scale of effort is needed to reach the comfort level.

Parrish rips on Rossi -

The bike cannot be that bad, it's not possible.

The pace he was going last weekend was just too ridiculous for words.

...at this time it's horrible to watch and I'm embarrassed for him.

Is that a bit harsh after finishing in the position behind your team mate that had started many position ahead?

Does anyone else think that?

I have a feeling that the media are going to start ripping into Rossi, like Parrish has, on a more regular basis.
