J4, you're back to rooting for VR? Poor Dovi, maybe he should try the injury sympathy strategy.
Theon's post is an obvious play on the Misano boo birds. It's a good thing you posted on the Misano race thread to rebuke such un-elegant behavior. Maybe it got lost in translation, though I don’t know Daniboy's excuse since he's an English speaker.
Nobody is relishing in Rossi's injury but rather using the occasion to point out the double standards, the disproportional sympathy, and the assignment of supposed extraordinary heroism. I invite you to watch the pre-event preshow. The chick and the bald guy were orgasming on the comeback of the century. They interviewed Massimo Meregali, who was trying to put it into perspective, saying injuries are different and this one allows VR to come back relatively quick, the commentators ignored him and continued falling over themselves to praise the super human feat.
That wasn't enough, the reporter's just needed more on the subject. Kropo using the opportunity to ask Rossi the redundant question, so Rossi, when did you know you were coming back this 'early', when you sat at home watching the Misano race (just a few days removed from incident)? Nominate Rossi for the Nobel prize for inspiring comebacks.

To be accurate, the 2010 fracture was a compound fracture, but less of a problem than normally would be the case because it was contained by his leathers.I'm completely alien to your idea of "rooting" for or against. I love the sport and try to respect all riders, even those I don't like. Your obsession vs Rossi is so apparent, Jeez -- you can't leave alone this rider even when he has a broken leg. Silence would be the right thing to do for you in this case -- but no, you can't help trying dismissing his best efforts to ride a MotoGP bike at 38 with a compound fracture. Others may have done the same or even better, but so what? Why hitting a wounded enemy? Vultures may have something to learn from people like you... Beer or even whiskey is no excuse in this case, I'm afraid.

This one wasn't compound by all reports, which doesn't mean getting 3rd on the grid 3 weeks or so later at age 38 is unimpressive.
I'll be sober in the morning, you'll continue to be detached from reality.I'm completely alien to your idea of "rooting" for or against. Jumkie, you have to look things up because they happened in the past, little wonder that they're not in the news now.
Your continuous anti Rossi diatribe is getting a bit tiresome, you're looking less of a GP fan and more of a hater which is a pity really.
Try talking about moto GP in the current sense without referring to Rossi all the time, there's a lot more going on than just him.
There's more going on than just Rossi, that's EXACTLY my point!

Read J4's take, I'm preaching to him buddy. Unfortunately you're caught in the cross fire. I know you're on board...Yeah but you're preaching to people who already know this. WHY?

Marcel Shrotter riding today following a fractured scaphoid one of the worst injuries that you can sustain as a motorcycle racer. No cameras and crowds awaiting his arrival at the circuit, no plaudits saturating social media no media spotlight. The lad simply grits his teeth and goes ahead with the job, for the team the sponsors and most importantly, himself. 99% of the viewing public doubtless utterly impervious to this.
I actually have no problem giving Rossi plaudits for qualifying third at age 38 only 3 weeks after fracture and internal fixation of his tibia and fibula. I think Colin Edwards and to an extent Lorenzo were given credit for riding after clavicular fractures, and it has always been the way that the premier class attracts all the publicity.
What is laughable is Daniboy chastising Jumkie for not letting bygones be bygones where Rossi is concerned, given a significant reason for his (and my) animus against Rossi is the career long off track vendettas against his rivals, and his involvement of his fans in detracting from those rivals. When Rossi gives up on his narrative about the 2015 title, and instructs his fans to do likewise, DB's attempt to assume the moral high ground might have a vague chance of having something in the way of credibility.
I am not one for false moral equivalence actually; perhaps you can point out the falsity in this case.I didn't think you would subscribe to a, "one wrong deserves another" philosophy. Didn't seem like DB wasn't assuming moral high ground, sounded more like he was complaining about the incessant sound of dogs barking.
Am I the only one who starting to doubt Rossi's injury?
Doctor expect him to fully fit 40 days after surgery. VR decide to race just after 24 days.
that is nearly 50% faster.
this weekend I expect him a bit struggling just by walking, BUT, his first appearance in the paddock showed the opposite (see this video https://twitter.com/MotoGP/status/910838706428350464)
he walked with crutches on the wrong hand, then eventually realized it before going upstairs.
then after the race, his later race pace was down to M1's eating the rear tyre faster than anybody, not his broken leg (https://twitter.com/matoxley/status/911999551351017475)
and no sign of pain at all after the race, is that even possible?
I can already see the headline after the race if Rossi races this weekend: "9 time WC Rossi put in a heroic effort to race today
and bravely risked his life finishing 6th. If not for the leg injury, he would be no doubt have won the race'. The media will fawn all over him, as usual!!
Oh and another lap of honor after the race.
Lol........ I need another coffee.
