i dont know about anyone else...but im really starting to get annoyed with the doubt surounding rossi and his chances of winnig this championship....

now, im not going to deny that rossi is my favourite, and has been for years...but this does not mean that i do not support the other racers out there fighting for the title.
so, i feel it would not be biased of me to try to defend rossi at this point.i was really proud of hayden taking his second win at Laguna Seca on sunday, and i do beleive he is a great hope for the future....however, to me, a world champion has the ability to collect a win in all conditions. A world champion has the ability to win the championship from consistence wins ...not just consistent podium finishes-consistency at being the best.

now we have all probably noticed the string of awful bad luck that rossi has been facing at the moment...i find it almost heartbraking....but this does not mean that i have lost hope.earlier today i cheked out the official MOTO GP website to get some info on the race at laguna seca last weekend...and i noticed a poll: 'has rossi lost his chance of winning this championship'...and if i rember correctly...there were more people saying 'yes'...than 'no' even though we havent even visited valencia, phillip island etc!

i think those doubters should really take a step back and rethink their mind set for this season...because winnig consistent 2nd's 3rd's and fourth places, on a stronger bike...does not make you a world champion....

ill never loose hope in rossi...

If anyone can do it, it's Valentino Rossi. However, Hayden has historically been strongest in the second half of the year. If that trend continues he could potentially grab some race wins, he is also very strong at Phillip Island and Valencia. If Rossi wins every race (which I doubt he will) and Hayden finished second every race (which I doubt he will) then Rossi will still lose the title by 21 points. All Hayden has to do at this point is continue to ride consistently and if he grabs a race win or two along the way, all the better. Pedrosa might turn out to be the bigger threat to Hayden than Rossi.

haden is most deffinatley a brilliant racer.....and he comes across as a funny, charming guy....

i guess its difficult for a die hard rossi fan to find the idea of him potentially not winning afer so long totally dreadful

and i know it sounds awfull...but 'DNF,DNF,DNF' consistently springs to mind when hayden is doing so well

even the greatest can have off seasons...Rossi is just so beyond what his bike can offer at this point.

I think Rossi is capable of winning but everything has to go his way. Hayden, Pedrosa and Melandri all have to have a horrible remainder to the season.

yes, i agree...but i dont want to

i really ttrully am excited for the next race at bruno

i cant bleave that we had to ait four weeks though....i dunno, maybe it will give rossi some time to collect his thoughts and try to work out what needs to be done to get back on path

i hope so..

i'm a big rossi fan too but you know what, thats racing emz. DNF's come and you have to live with the fact that this happens in motorsport. he isnt the only rider to have DNF this season. you race and you know this can happen. personally i think this is the best season i have ever seen and it can only get better as rossi tries to catch up. its gonna make for some damn fine action

I won't count the Doctor out, if there's a rider who can pull it off, it would be him, but it's looking pretty grim, no matter how good a rider is, if he can't depend on his equipment to measure up to the task then he's fighting a losing battle. From my unlearened prospective, it seems he's wrestling the Yamaha the whole time he's on the track, what puzzles me is why don't they set the bike up like last year, the setup they used served them well then, why not now? Or have the other manufactures bikes inproved so much since last season that last years setup wouldn't measure up now?
The rest of the season should prove to be interesting.

true true.....i have to admit, after rossi won his first season on the yamaha...i thought it couldnt get any better....and looking at it from a different perspective....your probably right....it just gives us fans of both rossi and moto gp something more to get our teeth into

i sooooo fukin cannot wait for the next race.....

yep,all Hayden must do is keep a cool head, keep finishing about the podium, keep an eye on pedrosa, who is more of a threat at the moment than rossi -51, pedrosa -34,and i think unless Nicky has some really bad luck, which i cannot see,as the rc211v is looking ausome at the moment, his destinty therfore is in his own hands, and the title is there for the taking.

join the club! its waaaayyy too long to wait for brno!! and yeah i agree... definately gives both sets of fans something to get into. rossi's fans and will he catch up and the others can they stop him!

As always anything is possible this season, but it looks grim for Vale. Not only is there Nicky, you have Dani and Marco that have shown that they are willing to go for it. What I like mainly about this year is all of the "what if's". If Rossi dosen't win the 06 championship how many fans will stay loyal to him or jump ship and go to the new champ. If #46 isn't #1 this year 2006 will be known as the YEAR OF THE FAN FILTER
if he dose pull it off the flood gates will open!

hopefullythe majority of fans are fans of the RACING...not just the fellas doing the work....

not saying i dont have a little peak everynow and again.....

but im here for the racing......its the most thirilling think ive ever seen

Ya, I did want to turn the race off when Rossi started to blow smoke, but couldn't for the sake of my love of racing. This year has had some of the best that I could remember! Long live the best sport of motorized racing!!! MOTOGP!!!!

As good as Rossi is, I think the DNF at Legauna Seca could be the finishing blow. What can you do when your bike breaks down? If Rossi could have at least clinched third, then it would be a very different story.

Hayden on Rossi's DNF:

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE <div class='quotemain'>"Coming out of Turn 1 I seen him over on the inside. I mean I don't want to win it with him having engine problems, but you got to take every point you can and step on anybody when they're down."

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE <div class='quotemain'>because winnig consistent 2nd's 3rd's and fourth places, on a stronger bike...does not make you a world champion....

Unfortunatly it can make you worldchampion.. Remember Emilio Alzamora? Or Andrew Pitt?

No victories and still worldchampion

I think they're worthy champions anyway, at least better than rivals that may have more speed but weren't capable of finishing races!
