They aired an interview of Valentino Rossi during the pre-race and he said that he loves NASCAR (as well as Indy) and after he is finished racing motorcycles, he might come to America to race cars!

Anyone know anything more about this?

My brother watched the same pre race show and told me about that (I was busy watching baseball during the pre race show). I'm not so sure there is anything to it other than Rossi trying to connect with American fans. Nothing wrong with that, it helps the sport grow in this part of the world.

I saw the interview. I didn't buy it for a second.

I think what he was trying to say was that anything was possible for him after his motorcycle career. He loves the US because he can lead a normal life here. Nobody recognizes him...

Doc, I read that he was getting mobbed this weekend nearly as bad as he does in Europe. He's not quite as anonymous anymore here in the states and he'll become even less anonymous after ABC air the USGP next Sunday.

Greg from Speed interviewed Pam Anderson ...she thought he was hot and too bad she was getting married..

lol...

I would only believe that Vale is getting mobbed here in the states because he has photographers following him at all times...attention whores will follow.

I think after Laguna blows over Rossi would still be comfortable in the US. I mean, he`s only getting mobbed because everyone`s hyped up about Laguna right now. Year round anywhere would be better than Italy for him. But isn`t he building a big mansion in Tavulla for when he retires? God know`s what this man`s gonna do. He loves to keep people guessing, dosen`t he?

He certainly does Richo, life is a big game for Valentino and I think he is enjoying every minute of it. As he should be.

Lool I think he's stalking Juan Pablo Montoya. First he wanted to go to F1 (where Montoya was), now Montoya's moved to NASCAR Rossi wanst to go there.

He'll show a lot of people how things are done.

Part of me thinks that he was humoring the SPEED channel crew. SPEED channel is mostly a NA$CAR channel. They just show enough other forms of racing in order to keep people as many people watching as possible. Its predecessor, speedvision, was heaven. There is a talkshow on SPEED that is supposed to be about racing in general (it isn't really). Non-NA$CAR drivers will come on the show and the host will ask them if they have considered trying NA$CAR. Funny stuff. A few years back, in SPEED's infancy, an AMA SBK race was cut short for the sake of a NA$CAR post-race show.

i went to italy about 3 years ago....im totally no over-estimating...(women are known for that)....it was ROSSIFUMI MAD!

it was pretty unbeleivable how mad they were for rossi...

i was staying in this tiny village called bedonia...and they had a local market every few days....my gosh...they had LOADS of individual stalls just for rossi....there were a few for capirossi aswell....but they really know how to support their countrymen...

but then again....its not that hard to support someone as amasing as him...and i think that as moto gp gets even more popular...and hes in the sport...itll get even more mad for him...

i think the same will hapen for hayden too...and pedrosa...and stoner....

just thinking of this makes me get all excited

Rossi and NASCAR? Blasphemy! That's like taking a giant leap backwards in the talent arena.

just to make sure I have the right image of nascar: that's the races where they race on oval tracks with cars, right?? if so, maybe marissa is right

yeah with cars that look like cereal boxes fitted with carbs and other pre-historic technologies.

yes, you are correct. Personally, I find it boring but there are nuances and strategies to this racing. If Rossi were to join it, I think it would suddenly become very interesting and I may start to follow it!

if rossi joined it....it would be a bloody travesty....

i would say the same if haden or anyother rider attemptet to move to it...

im not saying its .........its probebly orite once you get into it....
it has no comparison to moto gp!

sorri fot the bluntness....im just shoked that rossi or anyother racer would even consider it...even if they had started racing cars from a young age....

MX star Ricky Carmichael is eyeing up a switch to NASCAR after he announced his retirement from full time motorcycle racing which will take effect after the 2006 MX season.

No one could ever spark my interest in to a waste of a sport. I'd rather see him go back to HRC.
