Who doesn't? His name will be the one on everybody's lips. When folks ask which guy is riding in
Rossi's seat and they're told, they'll be saying Wat? Wat? Maybe Spies and Edwards will
make another of their comical videos... with Who's on first. Wat's on Rossi's bike?
The rumor is that Poncharal signed sponsorship deals that require both Edwards and Spies to ride unless injured. Edwards probably had to decline. I don't know if Spies was offered a chance, the last thing FIAT want is someone to take points of Lorenzo. Spies knows Laguna pretty well.

He won't be for very long. I can't see any way he holds on to his seat when his contract is up. If he's able to bottom feed at Suzuki or something like that perhaps he'll extend his career but i don't think he's going to be able to hang on to this for very long.

So whilst on Rossi's bike, should he be called ROSSIKAWA?
I think DORNA has now seen how asinine their limited testing rule is. Seriously, if there were more tests they would have given people from outside the MotoGP paddock (guys from Moto2, WSBK, etc.) opportunities to test/ride the bikes. Since no one wants to take the chance to get on a MotoGP bike without/little testing, all these teams are left with are data gathering test riders. I doubt anyone wants to watch test riders go through the motions on race day.
