A. As I understand it from the literature I found for you, lactose intolerance can start relatively suddenly, by which I mean in the space of a few months. With Stoner, it seemed to take about 3 months to affect him really badly.
B. Yes, he had. But he wasn't lactose intolerant then, as he appears to have suffered from late onset lactose intolerance (the diagnosis for this being that lactose intolerance appears as an adult, rather than as a child). Late onset lactose intolerance affects people who previously had no problems processing lactose.
