A lot of people have been throwing out language like Yamaha chose hohenzo. From what I understand, Yamaha didn't choose Yourgay. They wanted both Rossi and hohay and made offers to both. One of which was accepted and one which was denied. It was Rossi that chose to leave Yamaha. Please, someone correct me if I am wrong.

They are trying to paint him into the picture of succumbing to the mind games of Rossi and Motegi is going to ruin his career like Gibs and some may argue Stoner. Just wondering how you, as a more level minded Rossi fan see things shaping up between Rossi and Jorge. IMO Jorge is going to surprise a lot of these people at how strong an opponent he really is.

ok, on a mark from 1 to 10 on objective debate mark Talpa and povi don't expect you to actually do that and put yourself on the spot but you get my meaning compai don't always agree with members side of a debate but if they debated it with thought and passions i respect them for it. That's how we ended up friends
povols seems to have given up. I hope it's just short-term.
I feel exactly same about Talps. With the only exception being that Talps never said anything marginally insightful.

Sack, Lorenzo has been beat by VR before in a battle. (Catalunya). The difference at Motegi was more being caught off guard because of the situation. He didnt expect Rossi to race him like Pedro at Estoril 06 (without the crash). When Rossi beat him in Spain, he was all congrats & humble to Rossi. This time it was simply unexpected that such agressive counter moves would result from his clean passes. Despite some peeps following the line that this was just racing as usual. He knows it was about some statement at the expense of him being in a predicament of having to be extra careful. Its this that he lashed out at in frustration. And judging from his prerace conference, the mind game has affected him, at least in his expressions to the media. Dont forget, Lorenzo got booed at Misano, this was pre Motegi. The lesson is that no matter what Lorenzo does now, hes gonna b a villian (just look at the list hes been placed with, Gibers, Stones, and non Lorenz). Complaining about Motegi, (despite his rival's issue of similar complaint at Turkey 07) did him no favors. Im sure u will hear people say that its this recent complaining that has soured their view of Jorge. But its really just 'sour grapes.'

I think half of this is dorna directed to up next years viewing rates. It's like a soap opera building up to the big finale next year.
Quite possibly. They are both showmen and might go along with it, although everything including the race itself suggests genuine animosity; I don't think rossi really hates stoner.

In a sense, Yamaha did chose Lorenzo over Rossi, Rossi layed down the ultimatum, him or me, and Yamaha politely told him, you can stay, but Lorenzo will be your teammate. We will pay you equal money, and give you equal equipment, but Lorenzo stays. Rossi doesnt deal well with equal.

You cant have an objective debate with Talpa [and others] regarding Rossi. His undying belief that Rossi can do no wrong makes every debate subjective. He leads with his heart, not his mind.
Hey, do not forget that Stoner is mine too
I never dismissed his merits in 2007, supported him through all his mistery illness, campaigned for his prompt return, I have some rights

I think you are as fair-minded as it is possible to be whilst being primarily a fan of a single rider, and not being primarily a fan of a single rider imo takes away a lot of the fun both in this forum and in following the sport

What he didnt expect a battle from rossi?
People will not accept that jorge was the one with everything to lose, and yet decided to engage.....his tactics were obviously geared towards getting in front of, and trying to stay in front of rossi from the start.
If lorenzo does the sensible thing(having to be extra careful) then he doesnt engage in these needless battles from the start.

In an interview with the Italian edition of monthly magazine GQ, Valentino Rossi has said that his rivals Jorge Lorenzo and Casey Stoner “hate” him but that such animosity is “normal”.
“When you’re injured and are losing blood, those who are younger feel stronger and more able to devour you,” said Rossi. “It’s like a jungle, but I like it, it’s fine like that. They say: ‘Ah! Valentino! He’s been my hero since I was a kid’. But that’s not the truth, it’s all lies. I’m an obstacle, a rival, as Biaggi was for me. Let them say what they want, it only gives me pleasure.”
Rossi also added: “When two people are fighting for the same goal it’s normal they dislike one another.”
Yeah, rossi was actually a bit miffed about that early pass by lorenzo. He moaned about it in parc ferme saying " lorenzo passed me at the start and held me up by at least 2 seconds letting stoner and dovi get away. That lost me the race". Lorenzo later moaned rossi's passes were hard

I think the sequence leading up to the GQ interview was:
Stoner passes Rossi in his comeback race on the last lap. Rossi makes a bitchy joke about how if the positions were reversed, Stoner would be crying.
Stoner says in press conference that Rossi's comeback wasn't all that remarkable and the press were bigging it up.
Rossi says the Duc is a good bike and that Stoner hasn't been pushing it.
Stoner replies that he'll find out next year, and anyway, he's getting his arse kicked by Lorenzo and that's what he should be worried about.
Rossi does the GQ interview....
What I don't get is Rossi mentioning how "they" (Lorenzo and Stoner) talk about Rossi being their hero - I don't recall Stoner mentioning anything of the sort, certainly not in recent times.
You dont remember the T-Shirt stoner wore when he won the championship ? Had all his heros on it including Rossi.
