After watching The Phillip Island MotoGP from the main stand I was sickened when Marquez was hit by Zarco and the Rossi fans around me started cheering and laughing!!!

Just watched the Sepang MotoGP and to all you bad sportsmen (Rossi Fans) I would just like to say

HAHAHAHAHA HAHAHAHAHAHA HAHAHAHAHAHA HAHAHAHAHAHAHA

I am sincerely looking forward to the last race and watching Vinales push Valentino "The Gypo" Rossi back to 4th place and thus making the humiliation complete.

Gotta say, rossi is copping hugh amounts of flack on the social medias. A lot of it is about the marshal face push ..... well this seemed to trigger the flack. But the real funny thing is that Motogp keep posting stuff that surely they know will make rossi look a prick.

Im wondering if Dorna are getting ready to dump him?

I too was surprised they had posted that. It’s not like they wouldn’t have realised it could be seen.

Don't blame fans, they are just followers. For instance, have you ever seen Federer fans cheering when Nadal fell down on the court? No. Because their leader is a gentleman and good sportsman.
Here, OTOH, the leader is a jerk and the flock is following.
 
We'll have the last laugh when VR retires knowing Marquez will remove his name from the record books and the Valiban goes back to whatever they were doing before joining the yellow cult.

They won’t go anywhere, they will start to say “ I didn’t think I could ever like this guy but I’m warming up to him “ blah blah ......... Anything to keep a seat on the win wagon.

I think the migration has already begun in earnest. Over the last half year or so I've noticed a lot more "Bopperish" comments coming from Marquez fans. And at the same time Rossi is receiving more zings from the crowd. "He's too old." "Time to quit, dude." etc. The public's reaction to this weekend's shove seems far angrier than for similar acts he's perpetrated in the past. As for Karmic Backlash, I look forward to the day that Rossi is actively Booed by the mob. :p
 
I thought cheering a rider's crash was bad? I thought all booing was bad?

Or is that only if Rossi fans do it?

The haters are just as bad as the boppers.
 
Booing happens in sports all the time. Generally speaking, both sides are no angels. Otherwise we would be flying around with wings/glowing halos on our heads, and holding hands and singing kumbaya. What’s the thread title again?

GP bike racing is rather different than soccer though, the risk of injury or even death is much higher than soccer, where the risk to life and limb is probably greater from the fans than participating in the sport itself.

It is precisely the transfer of the soccer hooligan mentality to gp bike racing that traditional followers of the sport/old fogies as the case may be find objectionable. This is partly no doubt because the sport is a lot safer today than in the golden era 500 days which brought many of said traditionalists/old fogies to the sport, but one of the things Casey Stoner said at the time of his retirement which contributed to his retirement was that it took only a scant few weeks after Simoncelli's death for situation normal in regard to backbiting/vilification of riders to return.

Your opinion to which you are entitled, but the number of "haters" involved is still probably several orders of magnitude different on the opposing sides; I can see a philosophical basis for retaliation becoming no different than perpetration though.

You can get back to me when Marquez starts fomenting vilification of competitors by his fans. I don't recall any of the other world champions who preceded him in the Rossi era doing that either.

Rossi will have a very successful retirement in any case. I read an article only yesterday suggesting that the end of Spanish dominance in terms of new riders entering the sport is nigh, with more talented Italians than Spaniards in the pipeline now, which is mainly and probably correctly being attributed to Rossi.

I'm assuming that a goodly number of the Booers will be ex-Boppers.
And the fact that Rossi could stop the current Boo-ing with a word or three only increases the Karma Factor.

Bit of trolling redirection there. I’ll give you some credit you’re the subtle ally of the sinn sledgehammer, yet the message is the same.

If fickle Rossi fans end up booing Rossi? This proclaimed hater says meh? Not really all that interested interested tbh. Now remind me again of everything Rossi has done for the sport, unlike others who only risk life for far less fame and money.

Now let’s try being positive, if only for a moment. Marquez is the most fantastically gifted, entertaining rider I’ve been lucky enough to witness in my lifetime. Sure he’s no angel, reckless abandon personified. but being routinely booed while standing on the top step of the podium. In any other time he would of been loved. Yes I know it’s all the ‘haters’ fault. We must be exercised from the forum for our lack credibility isn’t that right RC?
 
You guys (all of you - pro and anti) have a very strange infatuation with Rossi. Its like nothing else happens on a Motogp weekend other than how Rossi affects everyone. Sad for you.

Well ‘this guy’ yes ‘me’ questions when the .... did this place become so serious? It ain’t ‘sad’ peeps hang on what happens to their hero or antihero on a motogp weeekend bro. That’s kind of the point, sports demand emotional investment. If you want to question the logic in emotional investment into sport, while in the meantime all this other terrible crap is going on in the world? I think you have you’re answer then.

What I question; this was place once had serious comedic value which is, for lack of a better word, now sadly lacking. I’m a ....... in support of jackasses.
