Rossi flirting with Ferrari again

You know.........I really like Rossi. I think he's the GOAT, I think he's good for the sport but seriously, I don't think he'd be any better in an F1 car than Schumacher would be competing in MotoGP. It would be nothing more than a fantastic publicity stunt (which both MotoGP and F1 could use) but no serious threat to any current "real" F1 drivers. Save the fact that he could get very hurt (ala Felipe Massa) and destroy some very expensive gear.

Forgeting the fact that the Ferrari F1 sponsorship is who?? Yeah, the same people who sponsor Ducati in MotoGP. Perhaps Casey can drive in next years Philip Island round?? Nevermind...

I'd like to see it happen one day, although I doubt it ever will. Do you think Ferrari ever get tired of being told no?

cant see him doing it imo even in 2011.he'll be what 32 and a rookie to F1.with ferrari.NOPE.
he might become there PR.Rep now that would be better than any F1..race i'd watch that

Before I would believe Ferrari wouldn't take Rossi because it was likely he would do badly, but after seeing them put Badoer in the car for Spa after his embarrasing "performance" in Valencia I believe they'd put anyone regardless of how humilliating the result could be.

I think Rossi would be able to hold hi own in an F1 car, the man is a great rally car drive. He wouldn't go in there wining the championship or races right away, but with time id see him on the podium more thean once. I for one can only stand F1 for 10 minutes before im bored, but with Rossi in it I think id be able to watch a little more or maybe the whole race

.... this is just more rossi mind games aimed at yamaha because of his percieved future torment.

I don't think he will do it either, and I agree with frosty's later post as to why it has been raised again, but being 32 or older didn't hinder damon hill, or juan manuel fangio for that matter.

I know Schumi has in the past found this proposition to be acceptable. But what do other F1 drivers feel about Rossi potentially racing in F1? He has no experience in the feeder classes and has only driven an F1 car in test conditions.

I mean look at the complaints that were logged in the media about Jaime Alguersuari getting the ride at STR when Bourdais was ousted. They said he was 'too young' and inexperienced. And Alguersuari has way more 4-wheel race experience than Rossi.

Podium?? NO WAY! NOT NOW, NOT EVER! Seriously, driving F1 would be like going from NASCAR oval track amateur hour to F1 and expecting to podium. Way to much competition in F1. Those guys are professionals, they have been racing cars since they were children. Rossi has no chance and he knows it, that's why this has never been anything other than a cute publicity stunt.

Ferrari had few options and thats why Badoer is driving. He has been a long time Ferrari employee and has conducted tests for them for years. He was not expected to be a threat. He would kick Rossi's ... if they were to be on the same track. This Rossi thing is fantasy, pure fantasy.

BINGO!

I guess he took his cue from Lorenzo when he pretend-courted another Italian brand. It worked, he got his way with Yamaha. Perhaps Rossi is hoping for the same effect.
