" A Face In The Crowd "

Before all of this ever went down

in another place, another town,

you were just a face in the crowd

out in the street, walking around

A face in the crowd

Out of a dream, out of the sky

into my heart, into my life

And you were just a face in the crowd

out in the street, thinking out loud

A face in the crowd

Service over.Vale wheeling out the honda. Pasini wheeling out the Gilera. sad times

There was a guest book for other riders to sign. Very touching words. I can translate on here but basically don't have the text in front of me so can't remember verbatim but the general gist of the words was:

Rossi: Cazzo mi manchi ie .... I miss you

Dovi: You always pushed me to go faster

Lorenzo: Sorry for having quarrelled with you.

Very hugely moving moments after the service with Dovi hugging Paolo SImoncelli, especially in view of the 2-generation rivalry between the Simoncellis and Doviziosos. Andrea looked shattered. As did all of them really. Capirossi, Capirossi's dad. Also lots of hugs from MArco's mum to Vale and some very moving words from Kate and Dr Costa.

It's natural to be sad, we were lucky to see him racing and unlucky to lose him. The most awful thing is to know that his familly will go home and see and feel his empty place for the rest of their lives, But We all should move on now and remember his happy memories and smile and his love for racing. I,m sure this is what he expects us to do.

Miss you Marco, R.I.P

Thank you Rickyduck for the link, this one was with voice

@Rog

OK. Will try from memory as again don't have text.

Kate said basically that on their last very recent holiday with Paolo they met a guy (sorry for the life of me can't remember his name) who is a believing and practicing catholic, and on Sunday night after all that happened she asked this guy why god had to take him away. This guy responded that when a person's mission on earth is finished, he is called back. She said she does believe, though she is not sure quite in what, and has another theory. Marco only had good points and he was perfect, and perfect beings cannot live with common mortals.

Dr Costa said Everyone is gathered here around this casket feeling sad, but inside Marco has a smile on his face. This is the last huge joke he has played on all of us. He there thinking to himself 'you think I'm gone but tonight I'm coming home with you'. With his parents, with martina, Kate. But he is also going home with each and every one of us. Which is the great miracle that Marco Simoncelli has done here today.

Sorry..not verbatim as haven't the text at hand but definitely conveys the general gist of it. I don't think I've left anything crucial out.

BG, thanks for your efforts, we really appreciate it.

I didn't realize Doc C was such an interesting character. I like what he said.

Thanks Bikergirl. I watched most of it (was in work), Kate and Dr Costa speeches were very moving, even though i couldnt understand.

Jumk Dr Costa is a man from another time. A true philosopher and truly and totally completely dedicated to the wellbeing of all the riders in the paddock. He's always calling them 'gladiatori' and 'centauri' and 'eroe' ie gladiators, centaurs and heroes. He's always drawing parallels with the gods and sometimes gets a bit lost in the rhetoric but always beautiful to listen to and read. He has some books out, though not sure if you'd find them in English, and again, a lot of the things he says don't always translate very well. Italian is a very poetic language...sometimes bombastically so...it's hard to always find an equivalent. But yes...Dr Costa in a league of his own.

Thanks mate. Dr Costa's words were as beautiful as i imagined them when listening to him.

So so sad to watch and listen. missed the end with the bikes, but it was such a beautiful ceremony for such a beautiful person. so fitting for him, and so good to see all the riders who were there turn up. For some reason especially nice to see lorenzo turn up, and as someone said dovi.. I don't know why, just to see them all unified. Feel bad for capirossi ending his career on such a bad note, and Dr Costa for being one of the last to see Sic, and obviously all the family and friends.. were he and Pasini close?

thanks for all the updates guys, especially translations from BG. and even if not humanly possible, know that i am hugging you all right now. as Dr. Costa said, Marco will be with every one of us now.
