I've never seen a forum so Reddit like ... the ones so "vocal" and repeating over and over and over and over how everything is Rossi's fault. I can't believe moderators actually tolerate this ... and now same vocal group of members that apparently have ZERO actual real world racing experience are suggesting the sport needs more aggression?

Sounds like you girls (you know who you are) need to get out to the track more often and see for yourself and get some of that need for drama out of your system. See how you feel about "contact" when it actually happens to YOU, get back to us from your hospital bed if you survive.

Cheers, Rob.

If you want to live in an echo chamber where Stoner never existed and Rossi is perfect with 10 championships try Crashnet.

I said elsewhere that Rossi is a scumbag and the dirtiest rider of the last 15 years in grand prix motorcycle racing. The amount of damage he has done to the sport is staggering. But let's not let Dorna off the hook either because they had their golden goose and weren't going to let pesky things like penalties get in the way. They've bent or outright changed rules at his behest.

More importantly Rossi is the man who didn't like being raced by a rider and punted him off his bike for no reason other than he was racing Rossi. That act was despicable and criminal. He should have been banned from GP for 6 months at MINIMUM.

Rob, who is advocating for aggression, contact? Name names so we can set them straight. To the contrary, I've been saying Rossi should have avoided the contact by standing up his bike; afterall, this is what he has expected of others. And, when they haven't moved out of his way, he has barged into them. You yourself defended Rossi's moves on Lorenzo, Stoner, Gibernau saying that's the proper way to race, so it seems you are advocating for aggressive racing that leads to contact. I can quote you if you like. From the other thread you started. You might be miffed to learn what you say, even if it's on another thread, can still be read.

Jumkie,

Thanks for the pictures, great example of just how different Rossi's approach to passing vs. Marquez approach to passing ... although I assume you thought they would cast a bad light, they don't and they're all from different years and not 4 blatant violations in one race like Marquez. Heck the Rossi Laguna pass was off track to avoid contact (I was actually at that Race).

Cheers, Rob.

This was your response to me posting pictures illustrating Rossi initiating contact, some aggressively others out of control. You're logic seems to be: aggressive contact and out of control contact is ok if spread out over several races.

You seem to advocate for a double standard based on certain flawed assumptions, which frankly is odd given your real world racing experience.

If you live in a glass house don't throw rocks.

It’s great fun making these virgin mouthbreathers cry though.

We have a few masochists here who seem to enjoy being minority. Maybe one of them is Rossi himself, you never know who is using them handles.

We've yet to see any evidence of anyone reacting to your ........ with anything other than incredulity at your pompous and unfounded claims, especially those concerning you actually being knowledgeable about racing - which are patently ludicrous, especially coming from a

no-bike Poser

This is a fan forum, and you are not somehow other than a biased fan yourself because of claims of authority, with even your claims based on a different sport anyway.

Your post is classic doublethink. “This is racing” is what Rossi said himself, and Casey Stoner was pilloried for years by his fans as a wimp who didn’t like hard racing. What you seem to be saying is that others have a duty to avoid contact with Rossi, but Rossi himself is not bound by same, which is the main gripe on here in regard to this incident and Rossi’s post race diatribe.

I think Rossi was a great racer, my gripe is with his off track manipulation and involvement in campaigns of vilification against pretty much any and all of his opponents, or are you arguing they were all coincidentally dirty riders of low character who deserved the vituperation from Rossi’s fans which it is abundantly clear now that Rossi orchestrates. You could try developing something known as a sense of proportion. You, like Synn, seem unable to stand any dissenting opinion even on such a small corner of the Internet as this forum while the overwhelming narrative for the last 2 decades of gp bike racing.is not hatred of Rossi but rather massive hatred of his rivals.

Look who started this nonsense nonracing thread on a racing fans forum. Why can't they stay on Crashnet. Why they feel they need to infect every place, even places where they can feel no welcome.
There is only one explanation. They cannot tolerate anything else but worshiping of their idol. This is called fanaticism. Fanaticism is never good.

I hadn’t read the post to which you replied properly. You must not have been wearing your glasses when you were at LS08 yourself Jumkie. Certainly on video/TV it looked as though Stoner was the one who avoided contact/being torpedoed at 90 degrees at the Corkscrew by debarking from his position in control of his bike on the racing line to the other side of the track. I guess it was Rossi who avoided contact when Stoner deliberately took his bike off track and put his bike down rather than run into the back of Rossi, who some consider was brake checking Stoner. Stoner himself said it was his mistake, but that he could have run into Rossi without much blame which would have been to the advantage of his title hopes.
