For the record, this is what literally 80% of us thought last year and we all know what happened then. In fact, last year, Dovi finished in 6th at COTA, and this year he finished 5th, closer to the lead this time in fact(although Marquez did clearly back off in the last couple laps). Not to mention, didn't he win at Qatar this year, a place he didn't win at in 2017? I mean FFS he had only scored 31 points by this time last year and now he has 46.
By the numbers, Dovi is actually considerably better this year than last, which brings me to my point:
3 races into the gp season is not enough time to fully assess the strength of any manufacturer or rider. It is also not enough time to say that a rider that challenged for the championship last year up and into the final round has no chance of doing the same thing this year and possibly succeeding when his stats so far are actually much better than last year.
The only safe predictions we can make is that both Rossi and Pedrosa won't win more than two races each.
And for the record, I am not attacking you, but I do not want to come on here and read the same garbage I read on every thread last year that said Dovi was not a contender when he really was and still is.
