Rd17 - OR Thailand Grand Prix 2023

Great race! Martin was amazing to hold on to that. It would have been better if Binder would have passed him in the last corner and then got demoted to 2nd. Brad needs to stay off the green stuff fricken hippie.

Crap penalty for Binder. This is heat of the battle stuff, not regular laps. And they expect to make racing better with aero and this kind of stuff?

Rules are rules, can't undo them for emotional reasons. At least this one is subjected to objective standards instead of the ones race direction make up depending on who overtakes whom.

Exciting race following the usual beats of the last ones (hectic beginning, paused mid section and amazing finish). The top three riders put so much on the line, none wanted to back off. Not bad for a season that was getting lambasted as boring and the racing labeled as unexciting a couple of months ago. We got a really good title race and great guests every race.

Pecco wasn't too thrilled at the end, he knows Martín has all the momentum. Everything can (and will) change on the drop of a hat.

Last week's race was great because tires influenced it.
Was indeed a great win for Zarco but Jorge had done everything right so felt for him when the victory was snatched away. Dont like tyre wear, tyre pressures or ride height devices getting in the way of any of these guys strutting their stuff.🤷🏻‍♂️

It’s not emotional reasons. In F1 they are lenient in the first laps, it should be the same in Motogp and even more in the last laps, with the exception of something completely outrageous, which this wasn’t.

Almost everything...

Really enjoyed that one. Really pleased that Martin used his head today. Some days I think my head will explode if I hear the expression, "He gave a master class today", but he really did; controlled the race and by not running away, he not only saved his tires, but he didn't give Binder a reason to attempt a pass too early in the race, slowing down the overall pace of the race, allowing for lots of paint-swapping. A good show for all. Loved that end of race pass on the outside attempted by the Bag-Man, very out of character for him, showing how much he's willing to risk to maintain his lead in the championship. Good stuff. Marquez put on a good show too. He knew he wasn't headed for a podium, but seriously looked like he was trying to hold up Bagnaia just for the sake of ....... with him.

I thought Marquez was maybe trying to unsettle Bag to give his brother some space as he was in front of Bag at the time. Fair play to Bag though, I thought that the early Binder pass and Marc’s attentions would mean his goose was cooked but he came back like you’d expect from a champion.

I thought that was just Marquez being the racer he is. He doesn't like losing position and will grab it back if he can. He did it with multiple riders. AE and Fab were another two.
Fab did well here made up a number of places and was still fast toward the end.

I thought he had missed his braking marker but after re-watching it, he was streaking by Brad quite a bit before the braking zone. Ballsy and a low percentage gambit that could have gone horribly wrong. As you said, he showed something today. This is the Brad Binder we need going forward and speaking of KTM, did Jack Miller even participate this weekend? Can't remember a time his name was mentioned so little. Man I hope Bags and Jorge are on equal points going into Valencia.

Awesome race. Bagnaia looked more racey today but he shouldn't be having to come from that far back.

Was difficult final few laps as I wanted both Binder and Martin to win. Epic scrap!

I am on the Martin train this season, and don't like the influence of tyres either, particularly when employed by Dorna to manipulate things which they haven't been above doing in the past imo.

You can't blame tyres for the previous race result imo though, Martin and his team just flat out made the wrong tyre choice out of step with the rest of the field, except for the likes of MM who had nothing to lose by gambling on the soft tyre. I have little doubt Martin would have won had he made the same tyre choice as Zarco, so he made a tactical/strategic error is all.
