Phillip Island would kill a baby and blame it on a dingo to have a crowd number half that ..........
Does Auzieland even have that many people not counting New Zeeland?

So it's on the chop block too?
If you live in a glass house don't throw rocks.

We are around 24 million or so (not counting sheep, roos and emus) where NuZulland is much smaller (and, a bloody nice place if ever you get the chance to head to - seriously awesome so I am told by friends and relatives who have been)
I owe you an apology.
Official attendance figures have been confirmed as a paltry 56,000, 17,000 down on last year in spite of the beautiful weather - by our standards. This is the lowest since 2006 at which time Rossi was also lying in fourth in the championship and ironically trailing Hayden by 46 points. 2011 and 2012 also saw a dip in attendance - I'll leave you to figure out why (it wasn't simply due to the mini ice age on Sunday in '11) - but this was a phenomena across the calendar which is why the Rossi/Dorna rescue package was formulated. Doesn't bode well for retirement. Many of these people aren't interested in motorcycle racing.
However, this can't solely be attributed to the Rossi factor. Due to the fiasco surrounding The Circuit of Wales, the promotion campaign which is ordinarily a relentless eleven month push was practically non existent, particularly in the immediate run up. Added to which, race day general admission was £90 with the cheapest Grandstand at £120. Although by no means the most expensive GP on the calendar and nowhere approaching the exorbitantly priced extortion of F1, I can see why people stayed away. Also with predictions of the hottest August Bank Holiday's in history those that are not already abroad flock to the coast.
Like I said, Sliverstone is unimaginably vast. It could house the population of a medium African Nation and it would still look empty. It may well be that we see a return to Doni in 2019 and although that will be great for the soul and atmosphere of the event, it will ....... ruin the racing because it has always been largely ..... to Moto GP. I love the fast flowing nature of Silverstone and the less in the way of stop-start circuits on the calendar the better. If only they could run the shortened circuit from Foggy's straight on to the home straight because Redgate to Coppice is one of the most glorious ribbons of tarmac on the planet.
Anyhow, I'm not afraid to admit when I am wrong - please accept my apology, but judging attendance from any circuit on a Saturday - particularly one as large as Silverstone is in my defence, sheer folly.
I dont really know where they get there figures from but the campsite was the busiest i have seen it since the return to silverstone by at least a third i would say. all the usual grandstands where full and so was the popular standing places.
still miss donnington and hope it returns soon.
Well the god of MotoGp doesn't like it when it rains and is as cold and miserable as Siberia (pun intended) in winter so anything is possible (although he prefers a shift in date and guess what - just as bloody wet then).
But, any removal of PI may cause issues for DORNA as the place is just that good a bloody circuit.
As a financial side, the circuit is owned by one of Australia's wealthiest men who (I have heard through friends in car circles) is happy to make a loss as he writes it off, plus he is a motorsport enthusiast.
We have heaps more people than NuZulland, hell, we may even have a bigger population of Kiwis than NuZulland itself.
But seriously, yep.

Man criminals reproduce quickly. I've always liked how Straya claims Kiwis when they are good at things but as a whole Aussies want nothing to do with the zoolanders.
Straya was convict option two after some colonial unpleasantness in 1776.

Being brutally honest, many of those we claim moved here at a young age as many Kiwis did in years past, although now there is a bit of a return the favour as Aussies move there because the joint is just so damn good.
But that said, we love the Kiwis ................ great neighbours (except for their bloody Rugby Union team ....... way to damn good).
Yes there is a bit of banter between the two countries but it is also fair to say that we would be the first to jump to the defence on NuZulland.
Yeah we pisstake with them but there is no harm although if someone were to get serious man, you aint seen nothing till you seen an angry Aussie defending a Kiwi (feels kind of dirty but heck, it also feel bloody righteous)
Good neighbors the both of you. Not like our neighbors. We need to build a wall to keep one out and winter comes from the other.
Mexico? My president tells me they are all criminals.
