hi guys
I really want to know wat othr people think micky haydens problem is this season?
Did he just have a lucky run last year.

The Honda is rubbish this year, and that coupled with Nicky not being the fast enough to adapt and the resultant confidence dip has led to him not riding at his best. I don't think hes finished yet.

All the ones offered the Ducati should have taken it… Melandri, Hayden… men, if they had known!

But then would it prove that in most cases 'it's the bike'? Hell no! I refuse to give Honda credit for that statement and still love when it comes down to the rider!

Yes

Although I'm not really a Hayden fan I do feel sorry for him. The amount of crap he got about last year (some from me) combined with the performances and bike he has this year makes me hope he'll at least get a couple of podiums this year. At this rate he won't even win at Laguna.

You don't luck into winning a 17 race championship. Nicky is obviously a very good rider, unfortunately for him the circumstances this year work against him (new (crap) bike, new style, tougher competition).
Still I think he'll sort it out, and when Honda fixes the piece junk they've made (aka RC212V) he'll be up there again.

Exactly

regardles of all the .... people say bout Nick and what-not (i'm guilty as any)..i like the guy, he's seems to be a real down to earth guy...he's a fantastic pilot with out a dought. he's just not digging on the 800s...he likes and does better on the big horse bikes...simple.

He will come around.

great post.

He'll improve no doubt. I don't think he'll improve enough to win another championship. At least not on a Honda, he needs a team that will give him whatever he needs.

Still the numbers don't add up for another championship. Dani and Casey are only getting better, Lorenzo and Dovi should be their next year. Getting rid of no hoper's like Edwards, Checa & Jacque should really stack the class with talent.

He will get better and better this season! Stoners glory is over for awhile folks, the power circuits didnt suit the other bikes. Rossi is going to make a huge statement starting from Le Mans in 2 weeks!

It's sad to think that Nick will probably have to ride another make before we see what he can really do, but I believe this to be the case. I would love to see Colin and Nicky switch bikes for a few races just to see how they would do. I know Yamaha were interested in Nicky before, and someone help me out here, but I believe it was Rossi's mechanic that made the statement Nicky was a talent Honda shouldn't pass on. Wouldn't that be ironic if that same mechanic ended up wrenching for Nicky at Yamaha after Rossi retires?

No I don't think he had a lucky run particularly, but his luck was perhaps better than others, he has talent. I think the bike this year is not suiting him for whatever reason, but he's not the only one out there struggling to get the best out of this particular bike. Europe will give us a better insight into where all the teams stand cept mugello where Dukes should trounce everyone and should Stoner win again then his win count would be quite a mountain to climb.

You can only go on past races and it does look like Honda fell asleep over the winter break and need to catch up a bit, but I wouldn't count anyone out just yet, the tyre regulations are going to catch everyone out at some point. Some riders will be able to get the very best out of their machine, some will never manage it. I don't think Nicky will give up.

I would like him to get up there at the front though and the quicker the better.

Pudding belly is not good enough.A top class rider can adapt to new challenges and bikes.Pedrobot.although not winning is outriding him every race(when he stays on).How many races has Hayden won over the last couple of years???not many.World champions should be fighting for the win every race, not tailgating people to get the fast lines.Nuff said

Don't even bother slating me,as the last time i looked this was a forum for people to post views on

I'm not gonna bother slating you because your obviously a lost cause, but to tell people not to bother disagreeing with you (their view) because its a forum for people posting views on is quite funny. If you post what is obviously a controversial opinion you should really expect some disagreement/slating

You ask for people not to slate you yet you are clearly looking for a fight. There is no point in me trying to convince you, you've even made your point in capital letters.

Haha, that's pretty funny. But I do see your point through the smoke of your bashing. Yes, as a fan of Hayden, I agree with you that a top class rider should adapt. I'm not making excuses for the guy, he's struggling, that's for sure. And he certainly is the representative; the team figure that should bear that responsibility, even though we know it’s a package team effort. I could make a case as to why I think he's struggling but I have the feeling you are not going to buy it. But its cool, you have the right to say it because after all, it’s true, he hasn't had a good start to the season. And getting taken off track didn’t really help.

The only thing about your post though is this idea that you don't give the guy credit for some great podiums. As I recall, Rossi has had an excellent start to this season (except for Turkey and even that had a sense of respectable effort), and in this time he has podiumed twice and won once. So what’s wrong with podiums? I think Rossi's podiums are commendable, I just don't see why you think Hayden's podiums shouldn't be given the same respect as he did this time at the same tracks last year. Podiums are podiums, and they are earned. Of course a rider should aim for the win, I think they all do (including Hayden), even the last place guys want to win, but as they say in baseball, the other team is also trying to win. Anyway, I like your spunk, though it’s little misguided.
