Because all shoulder injuries are created equal?
You are right. Some can be worse and some not so. But judging which is what is just pure speculation on our part.. (As a Rossi fan I would like to believe his injury was very serious and hope he would recover completely from it. Jumkie, as a 'not-a-fan-of-Rossi' you are entitled to have the diagonally opposite view point
Cheers

Are all back injuries created equal?
Breathtaking. You missed the point despite it being spelled out. You know, I don't alway throw out a hook, sometime I throw out a noose and see what happens. But even that is getting boring, as the boppers see it and proceed on hanging themselves. I'll give you one thing, you boys are consistent.
(to answer your question, as I see you'll probably miss it again, the answer is NO. That's my ....... point.)
I have to say both from personal experience and medical knowledge that in many cases ligament and tendon injuries are more problematic and take much longer both in terms of healing and rehabilitation than fractures; damage to joint cartilage at this stage in medical progress basically doesn't heal at all. Even a back injury if a burst or compression injury which I imagine is what aoyama had will whilst very painful be less problematic than a severed tendon, although he will likely have disc damage and hence problems with his back in later life. Injury to the spinal cord or an unstable spinal fracture which threatens the spinal cord are obviously different matters. I had a tendon injury fairly recently and was told that it took 9 months for complete healing, as it takes several months after the collagen is laid down for cross-linking to occur and the tendon to regain full strength. I was in a splint for months, whereas if I had a fracture internally fixed or even a total knee reconstruction I would have been able to fully weight bear fairly soon, although the tendon injury is preferable to the latter in the long-term because there was no joint damage. In valentino's case despite the blizzard of publicity exact details of his injury and surgery are scanty; whether he had tendons re-attached, tendons severed or damage to his joint cartilage has not been disclosed to my knowledge.
I agree with your underlying point of course that attitudes to rossi's injury are very different to injuries in other riders, with stoner in particular having been pilloried as a faker, and little attention paid to nicky's injuries and surgeries at all, admittedly in the latter case perhaps because he pays them no attention himself. I could perhaps point out that many of the people with the hypocritical attitude to stoner are not posting much here at the moment, with the forum in the off-season mainly involving the die-hard true fans.
It does give me hope that stoner is learning some subtlety because he did recently get a quite nice dig in about rossi's shoulder without provoking any hostility, pointing out as I was aware that he had similar off-season shoulder surgery a few years back, with the implication that he had made no song and dance about it ; he did say that valentino's injury was obviously much worse.
Well said Michael.
Also, the shoulder joint doesn,t have any "true" ligaments as such. Named ligaments are just localised thickenings of the joint capsule. The shouilder joint has an inherent weakness from an architectural viewpoint. If God existed, iI would say that he had a hangover when he designed the shoulder joint, but of course this is total crap because , of course, there is no god (or gods).
I stopped believing in Thor a long time ago, especially after the Ita Buttrose joke (only aussies will understand, well maybe others can, if they understood that she was a public figure with an obvious lisp)....................anyway, Thor came down to Earth and had a long passionate lovemaking( rogering for Roger, bonking for Tom, rooting for Curvey) session with Ita. Thor was so involved with the horizontal congress, that at the moment of climax, he shouted out.."I am Thor, I am Thor...........to which Ita replied..............tho am I , tho am I. ....oom
You paranoid ....... I wasn't having a go at you, I was agreeing with you, 'cept the usual ........ at the bottom.
This time.
Don't diss Thor!
Ren, with all do respect, as you are def one of the good ones....You're free t project whatever you like, so since we are projecting, let me do some of my own. I'd say having a back injury is 10x worse than a shoulder injury, assuming breaking your back is the same for everybody in the world. So Hiroshi has got about as much press of his injury as you could stuff into a thimble; yet his performance has been much improved so far in testing. Usually, breaking your back is career ending effective right now. The article is a joke on its premise, and Neil is by far one of my favorite riders, especially for his forthcoming character and integrity. (You may recall, he manned up and left the sport knowing it wouldn't be fair to the team to keep paying him while he was in no condition to win, that takes balls and integrity.) Notwithstanding, trying to compare this injury because it happened on the part of the body we call "the shoulder" is pretty funny. Neil’s shoulder injury kept him from entering events, UNLIKE Rossi (more similar to Pedrosa actually, in that respect.) Was Rossi’s injury ever in the position to keep him from starting a race, much less competing in it at a level to challenge for a win? That’s all you need to know about comparing the injuries. Undoubtedly, for the Rossi fan, any injury he gets and subsequent recovery is of heroin proportion. I don't mean to be mean, but ...., how can I resist when everything Rossi is always elevated to a sublime level?
"when everything Rossi is always elevated to a sublime level" but mostly it's Jumkie, who does this so he can take shots at him. ImO Jum invents the Rossi-Boppers for just the same reason.
Oops.Well you're so sneaky I never know what is what. Hahaha. Ok, ok, you got me.
Hahahaha, hi Bikergirl. What's up? How you been? Are you gonna stick around?
Pah! Who knows? Trying to figure out what's going on here these days. Mindless cheerleaders still around? Trolls? If you make it worth my while I'll stick around and even brush off my translating skills for you guys.
Yeah, we need an Italian to translate gpone who always take a couple days to upload the English version. U know i need my Rossi news asap.
