2008 Returns to the AMA Superbike championship with Honda.

2007 Forced to sit out the entire season after failing to find a WSBK seat. Openly unhappy at not being placed back in Ducati's factory WSBK team alongside Troy Bayliss.

2006 Remains in AMA Superbike with Ducati Austin but is unable to trouble the all conquering Suzukis. Finishes fifth in the championship, but without a race win. Ducati withdraws from the series at the end of the season, citing a lack of equality with the four-cylinders due to the technical rules.

2005 Signs to ride for the factory Ducati Austin team in the AMA Superbike championship, to try and become the first person to win BSB, WSBK and AMA titles. However, never able to regularly threaten Suzuki's reigning champion Mat Mladin. Ends season 6th in points, with one win in wet at Road America.

2004 Moves to MotoGP with the new D'Antin Ducati team, but suffers a disappointing season with the underfunded team on uncompetitive year-old machinery. Best finish of 8th, 17th in championship.

2003 World Superbike Champion with the factory Ducati Fila team. 13 wins.

2002 WSBK Championship, 3rd (HM Plant Ducati).

2001 WSBK Championship, 5th (GSE Racing Ducati), 1 win.

2000 WSBK Championship, 12th (GSE Racing Ducati), 2 wins
British SBK Championship, 1st (GSE Racing Ducati).

1999 British SBK Championship, 4th (GSE Racing Ducati).

1998 WSBK Championship, 11th (Kawasaki Racing Team).

1997 WSBK Championship, 9th (Ducati Corse).

1996 WSBK Championship, 10th (Ducati Corse).

1995 World 500cc Championship, 11th (Team WCM).

1994 Competed in two 500cc GPs with Team Shell Harris.

1993 World 125cc Championship, 24th.

1992 125cc International Supercup & British 125 cc Champion.

1990 British Clubman’s Ministock Championship, 8th.

I'm surprised. I thought he was going to be pulled off the track by series organizers before he'd quit on his own. I guess this shoulder thing must be pretty serious.

I believe Ian Lowry has got the ride with Rob Mac.

Good thing for Neil. The injuries last year were massive, I was surprised to see him try and give BSB a go this year. Enjoy the retirement.

Neil Is a Stand up Dude! I had the privlage of meeting and talking to him at a local Track day! he was rehab riding and still mopping up everyone on track at 50% He put in some good time on the Bike and in my opinion should be remembered as on of the UK's greatest riders!

Totally agree. The man was a fresh of breath air in a sport where you can have some primo donas. He not only a great rider, but also one that had a excellent attitude and character!
