Mugello predictions, practice, and .....-fest

Should also say a big congrats to Barbera for putting that time out there with no tow (and he was actually followed at times by both factory Ducs) as it is good to see the occasional spanner in the works with a wildcard (so to speak) up front

Wondering what some will think of Lorenzo's pit entry and show of anger (
<
) upon return at the end of the session as he clearly was not happy about something, but all good as his times were ridiculously consistent.

Pedrosa is fit and fighting but not so sure about the consistency in lap by lap terms by comparison to Lorenzo'

Stoner seemed quick through sector 1 but then lost all of the time as did the Ducatis so there is major work there and he is not a happy camper (and dare I suggest nor are the Ducatis).

Race will be an interesting affair and I will through in Dovi as a podium with Pedrosa and Lorenzo

On that, good save by Dovi during the session when all were obviously pushing as Spies, Crutchlow and then Dovi all suffered front end loses in a short period of time, only 1 saved it though.

Ah well, that was qualifying and the fun starts later

What are you basing this on, the fact he put in the most laps and had the best times on the hard race tires of all the Duc riders or just a quick look at the lap times?

I am basing it on his own words. I wasn't going to respond because you are such a fanboi nob who thinks he is soooo knowledgeable but thanks for giving me the opportunity to once again prove I am correct when you are trying to catch me out as being wrong.

Know what its like to turn lots of laps on a Factory Ducati in Motogp during a race weekend do we? Easy from you lounge chair to comment.......

Rossi is lazy hey? How so?

From what I can see, as I've looked at the analysis, instead of being a 'lazy' fan and looking at the final QP times. And it seems that Rossi has the best race pace of the ducks on hard rubber, yet again. I guess if he is lazy, Nicky and hector must be sloths.......

How long does anyone here think Nicky and Hector can keep up those times on the Hard rubber in the race? Well Nickys best time on the Hard rubber was 1.48.5 nearly a second slower than his quali lap, and we know that will drop off as the race goes on.

Aside from stoopid comments like the ones quoted above, this actually makes for interesting debate over the rubber, and how it is directly affecting the Ducati, and now also the Honda-for Nicky and Hector also out qualied Stoner-anyone think they'll beat Casey in the race? Not me. I do however firmly believe that with the right rubber tailored for the bike, the Ducati would be very competitive, but under these regs they just can't get it right over race distance.

Whatever the case, Jorge and Dani are going to smash them all-the conquistadors are back again, barring some major incidents or a miracle setup in warmup for Stoner, Spies or Dovi. the Yamaha's look rather good, very consistent, a few front end washes for Ben, telemetry might be having an effect and he's trying to get Jorge lean angles I guess.

Rossi does however, look more despondent than ever in his interviews, he knows he'll probably be top duck in the race, but he'll be 30-40 seconds and 7 positions away from where he wants to be......yet again-back to a Jap bike, or retire please Mr Rossi. Kropos piece on the state of the fans, or lack of at Mugello is also of concern for the series......not surprising though, they need to take some silly regs away and serve up something better or fade away to the Spanish cup.

so you don't think he really put in an effort because of his grid position. That's why I asked you the question so no need to play dumb. The fact is he put in more laps than Nicky and Barbera and he has a stronger race pace. You think that because he didn't qual well that he isn't trying hard and that is false, he sets the bike up for the race and will probably beat Nicky and Barbera like he normally does.

You can do thousands of laps at 95% effort and it means .... to me. Effort to me is pushing the envelope which is something I am yet to see Rossi do except for a wet race in 2011 and a wet race in 2012.

Well I guess we will see who does what in the race won't we.

Can you and Talpa show me the lap time charts where it indicates the tyres that each rider was on for each lap they did in FP & QP? After years of watching and looking through lap charts I am yet to see these ones and would be fascinated to read them. A link will be fine, thanks.

I have looked through lap analysis of FP3 and it appears that in his long run Hayden did 4-5 laps fast than Rossi's fastest lap in his long run. So you are saying that Hayden used a soft tyre that can't be used for the race to do his long run? I think you and Talpa are repeating what some tabloid journo has written rather than doing any type of analysis. In QP first runs which were longish runs once again Hayden is faster in general and has the faster lap. Are you saying that again Hayden used the soft tyre that is not allowed to be used in the race? If so, WTF are Hayden and Ducati doing spending the whole weekend on a tyre not allowed to be used in the race?

It would also appear that your claim of Rossi doing the most laps is also incorrect. Looking at full laps it would appear that Hayden has in fact done 1 more full lap than Rossi across all sessions.

You and Talpa seem to be so blind or so stupid that you keep coming out with such ......... But hey, if you are gay then Rossi has a better helmet than Hayden!

For all the .... HB takes, a podium would be awesome, even more so if he's 1st Duc, and even better if he beats a couple of Sat Yamaha's!

I'm not counting on it, cause Q's different from the race, but hey, why not.

He takes .... cuz he's a fukin clown! A clown getting a tow, session after session...

Nicky said himself his best with the Hard tyre was a 1.48.5 in his interview, you can find this on Motogp.com
<
the QP runs show that Rossi is 1.48.5 to early 1.49 pace throughout on the hard, Rossi said himself he only put the soft on at the end, he also said Hector got in the way of himself and Nicky-mid corner on their quick lap. He then also stated that it didn't matter much anyway, maybe a few tenths. As we all know the Ducati's be racing for 7th-30 seconds back-as they have been most of the season, all of them probably won't be putting in enough 'effort' though hey?

And I'm sure you know a lot about 'effort' from your lofty position on your arse in front of a screen, how much effort does it take to run 10+ laps in a session doing 1.48's/1.49.'s around Mugello on a Ducati?........and you call ........ from others, please continue this is quite comical. Not that I am, but better to be gay than a bigot.......

.... you are a dumb arse. A deaf dumb arse too. Hayden says in the interview which I had already watched and knew you were wrong but just checked again that his race pace on hard tyres in the heat in the afternoon is 1.48.4 not 1.48.5 as you have claimed.

You also claimed above that Rossi has the BEST race pace of all the Ducati's. Well this is simply UNTRUE. He is not even close to the race pace of Hayden. Who gives a .... if Rossi only put a soft tyre on at the end. On hard tyres Hayden is faster. Simple. Again, on hard tyres Hayden is faster.

I am calling ......... Why because you and Hawk are talking ......... You can not back up anything you say with facts. I have backed up everything I have said with facts.

I am still waiting for this analysis you say you have done and the link to the data with the tyre selection. You can't even listen to an interview and quote the correct times. ........!

But not this Q session.

His time was done whilst alone (and actually he did a few laps whilst alone that placed him high up) and was, in fact followed on some laps by the factory Ducati riders.

So all credit where due, the time was fantastic and no doubt a great confidence boost

Talps, I watched most of the Q session and did not see any impeding of Rossi/Hayden by Barbera in any way (there was one pic of Hayden seemingly baulked by Petrucci/Pirro - unsure who).

But, is someone complaining about slower bikes baulking their fast laps, perish teh thought as I thought only Stoner whinged about that
<

All for fun of course

Good to see Rossi got out of Barberas way, I've noticed lately that a lot of guys seem to be right in front of Barbera!! blocking him, even for a whole lap!

At least today Hector got a free run, maybe Casey can teach Hector a few "moves" to use on those CRT's and slower factory Ducati's ..... like Rossi as the sole example, and the only factory rider at fault.

Augmentum ad homiem. More of the same.

the guy on rossi`s helmet is giani morandi, the artistic director of san remo music festival (i think), and the words "restiamo uniti" (we stay together) means (for me) that rossi will stay with ducati. he really have no other options...

Rossi words not mine, and he didn't ... hector in the back from what I read.......
<

I guess from our armchairs and the few cut aways we got on the feed you could deduce categorically, when considering Hectors involved, Rossi imagined it and/or is lying........
<
And he said it would have made little difference anyway.

How gutless. Can't even admit when you are wrong. Even a simple acknowledgement that Hayden did not say 1.48.5 in his interview as you claimed would have given you a bit of credibility but no. Nothing but a whining little ......

At least we all know that real fact's and Talpa's view never exist in the same place.

Oh, and maybe you should learn the meaning of argumentum ad hominem because I clearly put forth my argument and clearly pointed out you are wrong and backed it up with FACTS. The personally attacking you was just something extra because I think you are a total ...... who knows .... all about MotoGP. Oh and if you are going to quote a term that is irrelevant the least you could do is get the spelling correct but then hey what am I saying? Nothing you ever say is correct so expecting some decent spelling is just a bridge to far.
