MUGELLO Italian GP (Predictions & Practice/Qual)

To all those who have enjoyed bashing Stoner so much in the last two years, does it hurt to see Rossi 'crack under the pressure' and being 'mentally weak'? I would think it probably does.

In all seriousness though, this is all a bit Doohan and Criville. Mitakes of this nature are rare but it goes to show how hard Rossi has been pushing to re-assert himself in his team. With stoner's rotten start to the season this could have big implications for the championship.

Cold tyre, He dropped 10 secs that lap on the last sector. Was either going to come in or was hanging back for clear track to put a fast lap in. Rossi and mental weakness is an oxymoron, your just a moron.

Best wishes for Rossi on a speedy and complete recovery. Let's hope this is not a career-ender.

All we can hope for now is that Stoner or Pedrosa step and and give us a championship race.

PS: let's also hope the rider Rossi slowed down to let past doesn't get blamed for this.

I sincerely hope alex briggs knows more than we do right now when he said "believe only half of what you read"

it's a good tweet:

"In this game you have good days and bad days. Today is a bad day. I'm not going to waste your time with telling you about the rider's leg. You will be being bombarded with it. This is the side of racing we all live with and fear. Its always hard to see your rider and friend in pain. But don't despair it a broken leg. They heal and when it does we will race. I will read all your tweets tonight. Thankyou for your wishes. Talk to you later. PS belive only half of what you read! AB"

Oh well, it’s racing, the risk is always there. Hope Rossi heals soon!

He (we, as in supporting him) only needs 18 more wins and a Championship, so to Rossi this could be a ‘walk in the park’… Of course all hopes so he can ride to the best of his abilities very soon!

Ouch!!! Broken shin bone! That must hurt like a motherfuck!!!! Poor vale! Well I guess now it's up to dani to stop Jorge!

This also sucks for jorges championship run because if he does win the chamionship all the boppers will blame it on this injury! And say he doesn't deserve it

F that! Rossi didnt deserve his crown last year, it should have been Lorenzo's. This year, he'll take back what was supposed to be his.

going outside of your cave must have taken a great amount of courage

Here's the first ........

Well good on you for putting your hand up as the first ....., but there will be many more like yourself who might "get the picture" finally.

Rog. will still missTom's point no doubt.

Hard fall for Rossi not nice to see such pain. Lets hope he heals well.

and i've read there is a strong possibility he is to miss a lot of races..six as ive read. Dang

Holy Crap! What this season lacks in race action - it kinda makes up in the drama department.

This year is turning out be a bigger soap opera than The Sopranos.

1 Horse Championship..

Reigning seven time MotoGP world champion Valentino Rossi has been ruled out of the remainder of his home Italian MotoGP after being diagnosed with a fractured right shinbone.

Rossi suffered a big highside in Saturday morning practice and with three races this month - and six races between now and July 25, when the summer break begins - the injury is also a monumental blow to Rossi's hopes of winning a tenth world title in 2010.

The #46 has never previously missed a race, since his 1996 grand prix debut in the 125cc class.

While not a "Rossi Fan" I admire the hell out of him. This actually saddens me. I have been looking forward to the historical

moment when he reaches his goal of beating Ago's record. Someone here was predicting that Rossi or another rider would

crash out (during the race) and I have to admit I was thinking it too. But I wouldn't put my thoughts into words because I'd

never wish that on a rider. But I remember thinking - while reading that post - that it was amazing that Rossi could go so many

years without ever incurring an injury bad enough to make him miss a race. Looks like he's going to have to do "A Doohan".

Yes, that is what I meant... Did not remember how to say or spell it though! Sorry, must have been a block out in my mind!

Just to be sure you know Compa - I wasn't taking the piss out of you. I just didn't understand.

Funny... I googled your spelling and found a lot of people for whom English is a first language

who had spelled it exactly the same way.

A real man would have got up and walked it off.....

Now we hear he's out for a couple of months just for a sore leg? Haven't they heard of duct tape?

There goes that Doohan like legendary status. The question has been asked many times how Rossi would react to serious injury, now we know. Doohan would have taped his leg back on and went out and won the championship. Rossi to miss half a season with sore leg.

<

In all seriousness, this sucks. Im not his biggest fan but i dont ever wish injury on any rider. Well, maybe except for that time back in 2006
<

All this aside.... it's good to see that Ayoama is finally getting his bike sorted out

and that he's starting to show a bit of the kind of competitiveness he had last year.

It's been depressing seeing such a spirited rider all the time at the back of the pack.

And Edwards seems to be coming out of his slump.

I missed qualifying this morning - had to go out and run before the heat got too bad.

I came home at the end to hear announcers saying that Elias had run into all kinds

of drama in practices. What happened with him?
