Even more interesting would be to know what you base your opinion on.

Is it so absurd to think a rider of Rossi's caliber, even past his prime (03-05) is still a contender for the title?

That Honda team haven't had any direction since Valentino left and took half the crew with him.

They need to officially make one of the riders the number 1, Dani probably feels he is because of his results and Nicky with a championship in the bag wants to have an opinion too.

They don't know whats what and who's doing what

Well it is possible i give Rossi too much credit, but I don't feel that despite his improvement in form he does not posess the same advantage he used to. Not only has he lost two titles in a row and had to raise his game, he's also had to secure the very best machinary to re-obtain his position at the front (he confesses himself that this is the best bike hes ridden at Yamaha).

EXACTLY!!

We are all fans, with varying levels of knowledge, bias and interest in both the sport and individual riders but it doesn';t matter. There is no need to always polarize the views of anyone who you do not see eye to eye with in order to label them and I would hope people around here were too mature for basic name calling, but a few members approach a "conversation" very differently to myself.

Must admit that it does seem that you are trolling if you reckon that stating that Rossi is a title contender in 2008 is "giving him too much credit".

He may yet not win, but at the end of the day he has had to adapt as much as pretty much any other rider (B'Stones with no data and no help) and yet is the only rider out there to have won more than one race, let alone 3 on the trot. He has definitely raised his game (hard to do if you are past your best) and why shouldn't he request that Yamaha do the same?

Does he need to win on inferior equipment (as he did last year, BTW) in order to be considered, in your opinion, not to be past his best?

Do you honestly have a clue what the word means? Or are you just using it because it's 'cool' now?

From the .... I've seen you post on PS3forums etc, you're a troll.

I would have expected you to be able to work out that i am suggesting i may hold Rossi's past form in too high regard, which would explain why i think his current achievements not to be on that level. I don't think he "has" to win on inferior machinary, but as he relies on machinary for his results more than he did in the past it appears his ability is not as far ahead of the competition as it used to be.

I reflected your behavior in hope that your predictable objection would make you see how destructive your attitude is, perhaps you will bare it in mind should you want a discussion.
