He's done 99 already and is top of the timesheets...

Lorenzo is on top going under 1.40

You're right, tests are still running and Lorenzo's rocking.
Lap times still way off last year's best times though, which were below 1'39 if I remember well.

Yes,the track is probarbly too cold yet maybe.
WTF Kallio is the slowest Ducati,i hope he hasn't crashed.

Don't think so. 99 laps suits him perfectly

He did a faster lap in the end,so he was the fastest non factory Ducati of the day.I was just afraid he had crashed.

From www.gpone.com with crappy google translation:
Jerez MotoGP: Lorenzo Rossi closes in front of Stoner and
Jorge Lorenzo command has ended the first day of testing at Jerez MotoGP: 97 laps of 99 ° ( "just like my new number, I did appear," he joked), the Mallorcan was reduced to 1 '39 "791, leaving a 70 thousandths companion teammate Valentino Rossi, second.

An excellent performance of "Por Fuera", which in tests carried out here in Jerez last November had won third place behind Rossi and Pedrosa, but with a much higher time: 1'40 "4. Certainly, there is the new asphalt that makes a 'faster track, but this certainly means that Spanish, in the meantime, turning test at Sepang and then Losail, has adapted very well to the Bridgestone. Confirms himself: "Yes, now I have much more feeling with the tires."

In fourth place is the first Suzuki to Vermeulen, but already accused by 8 tenths Lawrence, while Colin Edwards was fifth ahead of a trio made up of Italian Capirossi, Dovizioso and De Angelis (author of a fall in an fast, fortunately without injury), which has made the satisfaction of being in front of a team Elias - tenth behind Hayden - who has a Honda RCV "factory spec".

Capirex as usual has tried many things on his GSV-R: "I am doing my usual work supercollaudatore ... - he said - I'm happy, we know we can be faster. Lawrence has certainly gone high ... BMW? Difficult to win, but not impossible. "

Melandri for the twelfth time with Hayate, 17th Niccolò Canepa.

Soon complete remarks.

Some of you called it, and certainly Lorenzo is gonna be tough to beat. I'm hoping if he has a good season that Honda will attract him and give Peder's the much need boot. But I expect lp time to go down significantly since Stoner and Rossi will push. So I'm not gonna look to far into today's session.

Again, Suzuki continues to impress.

Hayden, 9th. certainly not good enough but when you consider 0.4ish separating him from 4th, that's decent considering the history of the second and other Ducati riders in the past. (I know it sucks that this is what I have to resort to but its reality that cannot be ignored). I was also impressed with Malandri's start to the test, however, how long will his optimism last?

It just make it more of a challenge, and separates the men from the boys...

Ahh yes, since the last couple of seasons have been so short of separation.
