We don't know what the bike can or cannot do so allegations that the bike doesn't perform is presumptive.
For all we know, the base road-version could be better around a circuit than other superbikes.
Yes - but is it realistic to think it's going to be (assuming it's priced at $200,000.00) $185,000.00 better than a literbike from Yamaha or Suzuki? The point is all available info points to it not being good value for the money being asked. You could buy the Suzuki and get a Yosh factory kit with all the bells and whistles and still have a lot of money left over.
I think you are ALL missing the point. Those who CAN afford it don't give a flying .... about its specs or track performance, they only care about the exclusivity.

Good point, the power output is about what a typical cafe racer produces. You sure? What if one of them is a hipster and turns it into a cafe racer?

Wouldn't consider guys like like Jay Lenno an enthusiast. As someone who is heavily invested in the market - I would cringe at the idea of owning stock in a company involved in creating a vanity project destined to lose that kind of money. In the event, the sale of 100 limited edition bikes is hardly a trend. The whole thing smacks of pure vainglorious pretension. That might be true, but demand is driven by all of the hardcore enthusiasts. They are the trend setters who generate the hype, which ultimately influences the investors.
Also, Honda is an engineering firm. They have too much pride to ask six-figures for a shoddy cookie-cutter. We'll probably find out that this bike has some of the most exotic alloys and state of the art construction techniques ever used in a production vehicle. The bikes will also be hand built. The engines will be blueprinted at the factory. The titanium sport exhaust will probably be a complicated work of art, like the exhausts used in MotoGP.
For all we know, Honda will lose money on this bike, just like they allegedly lost money on the RC30 and RC45. They were just halo products to keep their engineers from getting bored.

then they would...casually cruise & wave while wearing a bow tie & skinny jeans with their vintage red wing boots & glitter bubble shield helmet.

I need to get me a pair of the red wing boots! I have a pair of hipster glasses that would go so good with them.
I swear I saw this last week!then they would...casually cruise & wave while wearing a bow tie & skinny jeans with their vintage red wing boots & glitter bubble shield helmet.
According to the Chief Operating Officer of Honda Motor Japan, Tetsuo Suzuki, the bikes will be hand-assembled by HRC technicians at the rate of “one per day,” and that Honda/HRC have “decided to end the production period at the end of next year (2016).” That means that around 400 or so units will likely be built for worldwide distribution.
