MotoGP Austin

My advice would someone get a SUV or van and carpool.  The no in & outs probably won't be a problem because as said earlier, it's not really very close to anything so if you DO leave you probably won't come back that day.  


Or. I'm pretty sure they'll have cabs that'll hold 5 people going to and from all day. so you can split that.  maybe call Yellow Cab Company and ask what the charge would be from downtown to the track.

What part of town are you guys staying?
 
I'm going by myself and staying with a friend to defray hotel costs. My friend has generously offered to drop me off at the track each day so I'm taken of. I originally was just asking if anyone knew when the track itself opened. My parking info was more a rant at COTA.

I dont think we will regret this trip only because we will be with 15-20+ friends, in a mini-mansion house where we are all sharing booze & costs (so lodging will be next to nothing); but this COTA organization is embarrassing and looks to be the worst the US has to offer in terms of tourist leeching. Laguna Seca is NOTHING like this! And in my defense, i have invited u several times, haha. Laguna is extremely fan friendly. Btw, so is Indy, the entire city seemed to bend over backwards for the motofans. These Texas businessmen seem to be living up to the dastardly stereotype, for this i apologize to our foreign friends.

Its a good thing we have this forum where we have informed people giving us the heads up. Im gonna call to see if i can upgrade to a minivan. The good news is we have 20 days to plan contingencies. These fools can shoot themselves in the foot for the remainder of their contract to host more GPs, as i know the moto crowd is a tight bunch and will get the word out. Rest assured, at least for this event, i will do everything possible to ensure my guests have the time of their lives. Have no fear, the tequila im bringing is a fiesta in a bottle. ;)

Thanks man! Enough fuking complaining already. If no free transport to the track is a deal breaker for anyone, you're probably no fun to hang out with anyway...


I rented a full size car, good for 5 at least. We'll work it out!
 
Haha. Thanx for the slap back to reality gentz. No shuttle would be a deal breaker for BM. Other than that, we all good. Lil Red bringing Scapa, Wilski bringing Woods & Pussie, Jumkie bringing Don Julio, and Levi bringing Makers. Parties in a bottle.
 
I don't mind renting some wheels either ! I could even get used to driving on the wrong side of the road ( stupid Yanks ).


I for one can't wait. It's going to be a spfiffing weekend. Top entertainment i'll wager ! Tally Ho !

Sounds like you guys will be having fun despite the lack of transport. I'll be enjoying that weekend too and it's my birthday as well :) So we're all looking forward to it one way or another it seems. I can't wait to hear all about your trip, if any of you can actually remember it that is ;)
