MotoGp 2012 Rnd1 Qatar FP.Quali.Predictions

Sorry if i burst any bubbles but Stoner did his best time on a hard rubber. Couldn't see JLo's rubber yet though.

Damn Ben stayed on hard tires the entire time and did his fastest laps at the end. Does anyone know if CS and Jlo stayed on the same tires? With Rossi staying on the hard tires the entire session I would say Duc is in huge trouble this year.
Ben switched to softs for his final, quick run.

This is a quote from Spies

"“We made our fastest lap when the tyre had dropped off with almost race distance on it. I'm quite pleased with how the bike performed. We've tested at Sepang, Jerez and here and the bike has been good at all three so I'm happy with the bike, the team and myself. "

So he went race distance on sofr rubber??

Ooops MY BAD - It was Nicky, not Ben who ran late soft rubber. Ben WAS on hard the whole time. Been reading too much this morn!!!

I was just looking up last year's times.. and noticed the same thing.. Stoner's 2012 FP1 time, same as Rossi's last year.. 1:57.874 2012 FP1 for Rossi this year.. would've been 15th last year for FP1.. I sure hope he's sandbagging.. this is sad..

I'm a lil gunshy rooting for Hayden with the early results now.. he seems to have a good base setting.. and always able to perform in the beginning.. but by FP3 and/or QP.. everyone else improves, he doesn't.. but we'll try this again.. Go Hayden!.. just get in front of Rossi.. puhleeeeeez!

Will you guys quit with the "last year times v's this years"!!! Its a useless comparision. Track conditions can change each week let alone over a year.

Hayden proved the bike has potential. Rossi is disappointing... crap performance. Go home!

Im Nickys undisputed biggest fan, but man, this is FP1. Means close to nothing. Im happy Nicky wasnt sub 10, but i have no doubt by race, Rossi will match Nicky (if not tomorrow). I think Rossi was concentrating on set up. I just hope Nicky improves as the rest of the crowd is surely to do.

The other guy that has looked impressive is Cal. I see a podium in hus future soon, surely the Brits have something to smile about for Silverstone, Cal, Reding, Smith, Kent.

Stoner is unstoppable here. The only question is who will fill the rest of the podium. I think Spies will give Lorenzo a run. Spies was nipped by Honda last year, otherwise he would have been a two race winner. Now on the 1000s with the familiarity of being on same team bodes well.

DePuniet has also started out the gate well.

Seperated at birth.

This is another of the "worlds most idiotic Rossi myths" as well ....... on two counts at least:

1. WHTF would he be "practicing around at a dawdling pace" for a race that is obviosly going to require a setup for a faster pace than he is doing ........................ idiotic!

2. Why has Rossi never used this new "setting up my bike by riding midpack" method, in the past ........ beyond idiotic!

They are wrong if you try comparing riders on that basis; but to judge if they are pushing or not, that's about the only data you can use since we do not have future lap times available (yet)...
<
).

In this case, btw, it is easy to predict that 'track conditions' will suddenly improve today or tomorrow, when some riders will hit 1:55s on hard tires.

Ive had that issue before..Log out then log back in.

Then someone explane all the new buttons on the screen lol

Just to check that my account was working I went to classic race videos and was initially baffled as to how

you're supposed to click on the individual races to start the video. The "press-to-play" icon is ....... invisible

and you have to kinda feel around in the dark till your cursor runs across it and then it magically appears.

....... Dorna have the worst site designers. Carmello must have his 12 year old niece designing the site.

I would say Rossi is not even concerned about times today and focusing purly on setup or a specific issue. The problem with Hayden is this is proly about as fast as he will go and everybody else will steadly improve. My prediction is that he ends up like last year just inside top 10 (hope he proves me wrong) with VR just outside top 5.

Uhh... that's what Ducati were saying the whole of last year.

not a lot to happen today ?

Toby tweet > Windy as hell here. Buffeted the wheezing hire car across the lanes to the track. Will be a bit hard for the riders today. Dusty too.

So if I pay for a motogp pass on motogp.com I can look at classic races? And if so how far back? Thanks.
