Yep. Tomorrow we have FP2 & 3.

Hayden proved the bike has potential. Rossi is disappointing... crap performance. Go home!

...and please someone who was watching tell me that Nick's fast lap didn't come from getting a tow?

Maybe, maybe not,. all the riders in front of the first Honda are notorious for catching tows, while Stoner usually is all by himself

That's true, but Stoner is amazing at top speed (cause of his corner exit) and Rossi is there just with him. And remember, Rossi is a heavier and taller rider.

Ducati's bike could be a crap, but the all-hated desmo L-twin seems unbeatable. It's consistently at the top of sheets throughout the years.

My sentiments exactly. He is no dummy come on. Rossi have every chance to pull the rabbit out of his hat.

I would say Rossi is not even concerned about times today and focusing purly on setup or a specific issue. The problem with Hayden is this is proly about as fast as he will go and everybody else will steadly improve. My prediction is that he ends up like last year just inside top 10 (hope he proves me wrong) with VR just outside top 5.

hehehe wait til the panigale come out next year, especially with the rumored KERS system on it.

Oh, I was talking about the D16 L-4, hehehe. Ok, it's actually a L-Twin^2.

But the Panigale engine is very strong AFAIK. For a twin cylinder it's amazing.

Rossi's best lap time on the GP11 at the end of FP3 last year was almost exactly... like Stoner's best time at the end of FP3 this year, with 200 extra cc to burn.

1:56:479 (Rossi FP3 2011) vs 1:56:474 (Stoner FP3 2012).

So... lap times are still way too high to make any judgement.

They've been mostly testing the new 1000cc bikes, probably tuning the electronics to minimize wheelies in the long Losail accelerations. See also how in the last two minutes those who felt like giving it a push all improved considerably, and with apparent ease. It looked like the last minutes of a QP...

Tomorrrow they'll be going into the 1:55s, and then we see who can really keep up with Stoner.
