Looks like Suter hasn't done himself any favours in terms of customer base with last years treatment.

Agreed, Suter has all his eggs in the Marquez basket, except pretty much for Aspar.

GO GINO!!

So Takahashi will race with Forward racing Suter next year alongside DeAngelis

Apparently Elias is in the Aspar pit today too

Gino Rea in Moto 2,never knew.He will definately put the cat among the pigeons. The lad has no fear!

Nothing signed yet apparently, but he can't be doing all that testing for nothing, plus i've heard he brings a sponsor. Is Gresini really running a 1 rider team?

Nope. Bet no one saw this coming...

Feem prepares for life with new team in Italy

Moto2 rider Ratthapark "Feem" Wilairot will fly to Italy later this month to prepare for a fresh season as a new member of Gresini Racing, a leading world championship team.

After five seasons on the world stage with SAG, Ratthapark's stint with the Spanish team came to an end last season when the Thai rider's camp decided to move on for the sake of his career.

The 23-year-old is relishing the opportunity to work with the renowned Italian team, where top riders including the late Marco Simoncelli have preceded him.

"I never felt as confident as this before the start of a new season. The injury from my last campaign is behind me," said the Chon Buri native, referring to the crash with Marc Marquez at the Australian Grand Prix. "I was able to rest during the offseason and I feel totally recovered. I'm now 90percent ready but need to lose a bit of weight.

"There was no problem at all in the move from SAG to Gresini. But training in Italy right now is ruled out due to the winter conditions. So I'm practising at the Bira Circuit in Pattaya, though the track is crowded as it's open to both cars and motorbikes."

AP Honda director Alaksh Phornprapha, who has looked after Ratthapark's interests in world championship campaigns since 2007, says there are still minor issues to be sorted out with Gresini.

"There are just a few small details remaining before we can reach the agreement. At the end of this month I will take Ratthapark to Italy to find him a place to stay," said Alasksh.

"Last season, Feem's performances were below par due to injury problems. But this year I think he can bring joy to Thai fans with his results. Maybe we will see Feem claim his first podium finish this time out."

BTW saw this too...

Moto2: Ratthapark Wilairot to partner Gino Rea at Gresini?

The Thai Moto2 rider is reported to be heading for Gresini after leaving Stop and Go Racing.

By Barry Russell

Spain's El Blog del Mundial de Motociclismo has reported that 'Feem' Ratthapark Wilairot has been dropped by Stop and Go Racing (SAG).

The blog also reports sources as saying that the 23 year-old Thai rider will be joining Gino Rea in the Gresini Moto2 team for 2012.

While the story will surprise many after his dreadful 2011, it is believed that Gresini had originally approached Wilairot in 2010, following his strong performances during the first half of the season, but had been unable to prise him away from the Spanish team.

Wilairot's 2011 team-mate, Santiago Hernandez, has already been replaced by Angel Rodriguez, but there is no news yet about who will be the other rider.

Swedish rider Alex Lundh will get a seat in the MZ Racing Team

(only in swedish, sorry)

He's been fighting in the Supersport class for two seasons, Cresto Guide Racing Team.

Placed 16th both seasons 2010 and 2011.

There's also a rumour that MZ will only have one bike on the grid. Not confirmed yet though.

anybody know what chassis mz will use?

from what i've heard they will use honda nsf prototypes in moto3, where does that leave their moto2 project?any more work on that or will they concentrate on the ftr chassis?

I havent heard anything about mz or what chassis they will use...all i've heard is that a lot of teams are switching from the suter to the kalex chassis following bradl's championship win...i guess we just have to wait and see.

I'm still concerned about marquez, last I heard he was still recovering? He hasn't been on a bike since his injury in late october.

no wonder, there were a couple of suter teams that were not happy with the special treatment of marquez team

lets hope marquez gets well soon, this year should be his

Spanish ace Marquez out of Jerez test

figured he was going to be...seems to be getting better but how long with that be. Pretty frightening injury

Crash

It seems Marquez is still not fully recovered yet

"My vision is still not quite right. It’s improving, and with every checkup it’s better, but we don’t have a concrete return date yet. My priority is my vision and when we think I’m well enough, I’ll get back on the track," said the rider from Lleida. "The team has planned all kinds of workouts for me, so when I’m ready, I’ll be up to speed on the bike. I hope that happens as soon as possible, but there’s no exact date for my return."

The problem lies in the lack of ability to focus his right eye when he looks upward, as when tucked into a race position. Because of this, Marquez says he thinks his condition must further improve before he gets on a racetrack. He is riding motocross for training which he says "is helpful but it isn’t like riding at speed, the doctors are very happy with my progress and they said it just needs patience and time."

I do hope it doesn't ruin his career in GP.
