I like that Lorenzo and Rossi went at it on the track.....I hate to watch Lorenzo or any rider with a nice points lead take it easy until the title is secure and then get back to racing.

It has to suck for Lorenzo this season to have such a strong first half of the season and then have to play it safe at the end to make sure the title is on the bag. It has to suck to be a Lorenzo (or any fan) to watch the front runner/points leader cruise around in safe mode to collect points for the last few races.

Lorenzo seems to be a racer that wants to win every race and I bet it kills him to have the engine rule and maybe some team "coaching" to not to take the risks before a title is secure. Lorenzo racing hard with Rossi shows he is not content on using his points cushion and Pedrosa's injury to coast the title home.

If Lorenzo thought the racing was a bit rough this round...he should remember how he got called out (banned) on aggressive riding just a few years ago, so he is far from sainthood. Plus he wanted to race Rossi heads up.....well here it is. Don't hit a hornet nest and hang around to see if they hit back.

Very much ... for tat. In that last lap Lorenzo just laid down on top of Rossi. Really looked like he lost his temper

and in doing so forgot that Rossi cannot be cowed. I was great ....; the kind of racing that make me feel extra

glad to be alive.

..............

This is a race worth re-watching.
<

I just re-watched it, and it strikes me that what Gibernau, Stoner and now Lorenzo all complain about Rossi, is basically the same thing. In this case, it happened very clearly in the last pass: Rossi lunges inside, and it looks for a moment like Lorenzo ran wide (but actually it's Rossi who's entering really straight into the apex, something very difficult to do because you have to brake strongly while cutting the track diagonally, and one would normally crash trying to do that!). This is where the famous racecraft is, imo.

Seeing Rossi unexpectedly there, Lorenzo (like Stoner and Gibernau before) instinctively tries to close the line by leaning on him, but he's already too much inside so they just bump into him, and of course immediately bounce back (which to a superficial observer gives the impression they were pushed out); what Schwantz pointed out after Laguna, was that in such a situation the winning move would have been to allow Rossi to follow his line and pass: he then would inevitably exit wider, and they could take the apex and come out in front. But so far, none of them was cool enough to do that; they all leaned on Rossi trying to stop him, bumped (or almost bumped) on him, bounced back, and lost.

And they all complained afterwards.

Poor thrashed Rossi. And those who think Rossi was rough, who pushed Rossi into the dirt. One eyed Rossi hating ..........

I knew when i came on this morning what to expect, but it still amazes me the lengths that Rossi fans will go to give themselves hope.

I have no problem with the racing, that was Jorges decision to push the matter, but personally, i think it was stupid on his part to risk everything for a 3rd pace finish. What cracks me up, it was for a 3rd place finish, but according to bops, it was some resurrection of the messiah. First, Rossi is full of ...., he said earlier this week that he would try and help Lorenzo win the title, it probably came as a little bit of a surprise to everyone in the Yamaha camp, that Rossi would risk taking out his championship leading teammate after Lorenzo raced him clean. No biggie, now we know who Rossi is, and what he is about. For all of you sitting around with your yellow towels and hand cream, here is the bad news. IT WAS FOR 3rd,and he had to result to questionable tactics to beat a guy who had better pace on a worn out engine. Did i mention it was just for 3rd. You guys are starting to sound like us Hayden fans, looking for any moral victory you can find
<
Oh, and one more thing, the shoulder thing appears to have been slightly exaggerated, or does it only hurt when Lorenzo finishes ahead of him
<

Bitchfest between Biagtossi and Lawrenco, makes a bit of a farce of this:

I guess nobody asked Tossi

Dovi and Casey in a class of their own today, I expected a fall from either but they both nailed it.

Oh and for those that think the Mundialato is over ..... get real Spies could easily still take it!

yes stoner was in a class of his own…but i detest the insinuation that stoner is a crasher
<
if the gp10 would have been above an ordinary unit this year then casey would have won the championship…hes a goer and never gives up…not like Lawie who had all the luck and all things go his way in 2010…well see next year when val is on the duck and stoner is on the honda…my prediction stoner

Lorenzo squeeze's Rossi right onto the dirt which is fair enough as he had the inside line through and exiting the corner but this leaves Vr the option of either backing off and letting Jorge take the lead (yeah right) or clipping the dirt then turning pushing Jorge well wide. What happened with Pie'z and Nicky.

with dani out, lorenzo needs no help for the championship actually, he's already champion. they could give it to him right after fp1

and, it didnt matter if it was 3rd or 2nd or 5th or 6th .. both just wanted to beat one another. if jorge cared about his championship he would sit back and cruise around. but he didnt care about the championship, nor the podium, just to finish ahead of rossi.

also. rossi's shoulder is in pain while braking already leaned, not in a straight line, i think. motegi is a stop-n-go track, so i dont see rossi performing like that in the remaining races, and i dont think he ll finish the season

i didnt expect from lorenzo to say these things, (or jarvis) .. well at jerez he also pushed dani hard and there were contacts. though dani didnt complain afterwards.

Hmmm. Had Lorenzo come out on top, you wouldn't dismiss the importance of this duel now. And Lorenzo himself wouldn't consider it "too aggressive".
<

But Little Jorge was bruised in his ego,
<
and rushed to Yamma crying
<

Sad that Furusawa himself played along. What a bad image for Yamaha! MotoGP is already boring, we only need the manufacturers to issue team orders to prevent battles and keep the proceedings orderly according to their wishes...
<

WTF, the rivalry between these two is not something we discover today. And Lorenzo even irritated Rossi in the first lap, getting in front of him only to slow him down. What was Rossi supposed to do afterwards, let him pass and hand him a flower?

look at 1:10 and 1:22 just straight out hack

well the under bridge pass is what happens when 2 riders fight for the racing line....

lorenzo pass was no different up the inside almost forcing rossi onto the grass... rossi picked the bike back up lorenzo was rite next to him they swapped abit of paint big deal.....

guess you only see faults of one rider....clown!

One crash and Lorenzo could be out for the season. If Rossi wants to try and prove something, taking his teammate out before the championship is decided is not the time, especially since he has been eliminated. This was about Rossi being butt hurt because Yamaha chose Lorenzo over him. He let HIS ego get in the way. As far as the shoulder, i believe Rossi said this track would be the one that caused him the most trouble. Rossi has played every angle imaginable with the shoulder to get Yamaha to let him test, after today, Yamaha should tell him to .... off.

You clearly are a dense little 9 year old girl with no idea.

Lorenzo has the championship, no help necessary. Paint swapping is perfectly acceptable and should happen every race. It happens with cars, why not with bikes?

Lorenzo fought back as hard as he could. He got beaten. There was nothing wrong with the last pass. Rossi put it up the inside and pretty much hit the apex give or take half a metre. Nowhere near the Jerez situation with Gibbers. Lorenzo was pushing hard as well - pushed Rossi onto the dirt. I had no problem with this.

It was a race for third - I know that's not a win. In fact, everyone even 9 year old girls know that. How much better would the race be if there was a battle between Dovi and Stoner the same as the Lorenzo/Rossi battle?

At least there were no team orders - well actually, there might have been but Rossi said .... you to them. hehehe.

As for the test, Rossi should tell Yamaha to .... off and go and get the surgery done now. .... the teams championship, .... "helping" Lorenzo, go and get himself right. The only reason he hasn't is because he has more ticker than the other ........

Give me a race like that every week. If I want to watch things go around a track without passing, I'd watch formula 1.

Race sucked for Hayden fans.

All I can say about Rossi and Lorenzo....Lorenzo wanted a last lap battle with Rossi, well he got it. Hell he just got relegated to 4th by 2011 teammates two races in a row, so I'm sure thats a tough pill to swallow.

Had it been any other rider, not on a Yamaha, i would expect nothing less. The fact that Pedrossi put the teams year long goals in jeopardy says all you need to know about Mr Ego. Rossi fans are showing their true colors, just like Rossi. .... everybody, as long as i get what i want. Lin Jarvis was absolutely correct in what he said. Rossi is about Rossi and would probably relish in costing them a title since he got his feelings hurt. The championship is more important than Rossi or his fans feelings. You are the one acting like a 9 year old girl since you dont seem to understand what the ultimate goal is. Like a 9 year old girl, you see Justin Bieber on stage and nothing else in the world matters when you are in the worshipers trance.
