Monster Energy Grand Prix České republiky 2017

The honda is far from sorted this year as well putting the non-contending ducati in contention.

It is buddy, but it's been that way for a few years. They have a Marquez though to negate some of their handling woes. [emoji1]
Yamaha don't, Rossi doesn't seem that man and Maverick hasn't had enough time on the bike to know what he's actually feeling for (if you get my drift).
The unusual weather changes have actually caught many new (to different bikes and teams) on the hop, as they're just not getting the consistency of seat time to enable them to gel with their bikes.
This has played mightily into Dovi's and Petrux's hands, giving them podiums they might not normally get.

Jorge 3. in FP1 (0.12 sec off 1.)
Johann 1. in FP1
Jonas 2. in FP2 (0.2sec off 1.)
Aprillia (Aleix) 9. in FP2 (0.7sec off 1.)
KTM (Pol) 13. in FP2 (ahead of Val.), only 1sec off 1.

Exiting news

Not even 1 sec. between the first 10 in FP3.
Aleix only 0.5 sec. off the pace and 7. fastest
and Jorge 0.6 sec. behind Marc in 1.
...

It's gonna be good...

No matter how much that fairing looks like a stormtrooper helmet, the forces will never be with Ducati

JoLo looks to me like Darthvader riding around on a red star fighter trying to find ludicrous speed.

Marc has been on ice all weekend. He really will be lucky to finish tomorrow. But it looks like rain.

They got this by the scrutineers by saying they're not wings. They're groin ventilators.

Nah he's not got the balls needed to have to cool his groin.

BTW they are wings no if and or buts, take a look at the A10 Warthog, Read somewhere the slots in the wings were for stability when close to the ground, it was IMO better looking as well.

Marquez can probably expect the infamous Michelin email after mentioning having a .... front tyre in the post qualifying interview.

The words 'not in the spirit of the rules ' come to mind.

No such thing. Spirit of the ....... rules...
Write the book correctly and there's no need to worry. Just ensure you know the difference between a comma and a semi-colon.

Then the book wasn't written correctly, they're still winglets enclosed or not.

Someone has got to be talking Rossi tire conspiracy, no? The old fart is a crotch hair from pole. So much for crappy '17 Yamahas. Which if you look at the season so far is a silly concept. The Yamahas are doing pretty damn good when it isn't raining, and even that might not be all the bike's fault.

Well I think the rules were written okay. BUT, the safety sheriff has the last word and I believe Ducati did submitted this form before. I sort of remember it. Since the main concern was safety, it looks like they are allowing it in the "spirit of the ....... rules." Read the following. I don't think the Ducati things should be allowed by how I read the wording. What do you think?

2.4.4.7
1. The windscreen edge and the edges of all other exposed parts of the streamlining must be rounded.

2. The maximum width of bodywork must not exceed 600 mm.

8. Devices or shapes protruding from the fairing or bodywork and not integrated in the body streamlining (eg. wings, ns, bulges, etc.) that may provide an aerodynamic effect (eg. providing downforce, disrupting aerodynamic wake, etc.) are not allowed.

The Technical Director will be the sole judge of whether a device or fairing design falls into the above de nition.

Moving aerodynamic devices are prohibited.

The new fairing is affecting the top speed by a substantial amount. I wonder if it's within the rules to make them retractable

Yamaha and honda have been using their own version of the shroud for a while now so this isn't that much of a surprise. I'm .... at posting photos, calling on gaz to post evidence.

Actually - it fits all the requirements. No sharp edges, integrated into the forum, no moving parts.
