Looks dangerous. Surely those protrusions could put an eye out or even worse drop a lap time.

Partly. I really think these guys are part of the new Moto2 generation, like Marquez, that are much better prepared to race the big bikes. I thought Redding would do better because of his Moto2 style, but I guess everyone isn't an automatic A grade going to the big show.
Damn Dovi is trying really hard to become a damn contender, even though Rossi doesn't think so. The guy is pissing me off, by ruining my contention that he isn't a contender.
I was really excited to see the "enthusiasm" with the first session after the long break and the poor weather. It looks like the second half will be good, IF no one gets hurt and the crashing is kept to a minimum.

Yamaha have messed up this year. Did they miss Lorenzo's input to the new bike (I ask this sincerely and not maliciously) or was Rossi so preoccupied with beating Lorenzo last year, that he didn't do enough on the development of the new bike?
Whichever it seems this bike is definitely not up to their usual high standards, especially in the handling stakes.
Hope they sort it quickly or Marquez will be away with another world title in his pocket...

The honda is far from sorted this year as well putting the non-contending ducati in contention.
To be fair Dani, us Aussies have had a lot more of Boris than have many of the overseas places, although the 'Dear Jorge' column that he writes has increased awareness of him (which is quite disturbing as his ego was large enough before Dear Jorge took off).
The guy is as others have described, a wannabee bad guy who really is one of the biggest dipshits going around.
Don't worry JKD.
It is a Ducati which means that any and all positive changes must and will be outlawed forth with.
Now, if HRC or Yamaha had this, the world would be forces to accept it
