Hey Krops, do you watch anything other than racing? Do you have any thoughts on soccer? I opened up a soccer thread in the Lounge. Can I interest you in that? (And no we are not talking FIFA or conspiracies, just soccer (well, trying to at least ).

Yes, I enjoy cycling, rugby, cricket, NFL, and, from time to time, a spot of speed skating. All other sports are ..... Any sport which relies on points scoring is doubly, triply ..... That includes Freestyle MX. I can admire the mad skillz, but it's not a ....... sport if it doesn't have an objective, quantitative outcome.

Also, the only racing I am interested in involves two wheels. Cars the work of Beelzebub, and should be banned worldwide immediately for anything other than the transport of fridges and sheep.

And yes, I know cycling is riddled with drug abuse and cheating is rampant, with the outcome of some races often stitched up between the competitors, but I know that and I don't care.

As someone who grew up playing rugby, I naturally regard soccer as a game for old ladies, and people afraid of physical activity. Players all too often seem to be sidelined for 6 months with a hangnail. And as far as I can tell, the reason it is called the beautiful game is a reference to the amount hair care products involved in the barnets of the ladyboys who play it.

Hey hey, stop insulting each other's intelligence, leave that to the professional Kesh.

Speaking of intelligence, what would compel an "intelligent" person to drop his birth name and take on such a sacred cow?

Mohammed Ali (You know, the boxer guy);)

Kareem Abdul Jabbar

Mahmoud Abdul-Rau

Carlos Devadip Santana

The Dali Lama

Mahavishnu John McLaughlin

Every pope that ever existed

Every one of the Caesars

Jamaal Abdul-Lateef

And those are just off the top of my head.

BTW - your assumption is both culturally ignorant [big surprise there] and wrong from start to finish. I never "changed" my name. It is an honorific bestowed on me by one of India's most beloved saints. I was honored by her offering to call me by this respected name, and because I lived in India for ten years, everyone with whom I was close, used this sobriquet because it was easier to pronounce than my Christian one. After 10 years of being known by Keshav it kind of stuck. But that's okay - you can call me by any name you can manage to wrap your tongue around. Makes no difference to me. I understand that you have your limitations.

Back in good ole days before you became a ...., you and I discussed this topic to death in one of the social threads and both of us asserted our agnostic bent - so this is another invented lie of yours as you perfectly well I do not belong to any religious organization. And so ....... what if someone here does? Is there now a Powerslide fatwa against people who do believe in a spiritual practice? I didn't realize along with all your other failings that you were a bigot as well.

Hilarious Krop.
Great post. I dont watch soccer but I couldnt help to see some of the World PissCup. I couldn't tell if it was a game or a fashion show

Its Frack mother ....... I would call you guys a gang but technically you need four to be a gang and I am sure you guys don't have a fourth friend. I think I can speak for everyone here plus your families and friends when I say, we wish you three were never born. You guys are a waste of space.

I don't have any friends, why the .... do you think I hang around here all day?

My mum told me a great line:

"Rugby is a roughians sport played by gentlemen, and Football (soccer) is a gentlemans sport played by roughians"

I too grew up playing Rugby as did my brother who was massively better at it than I but if I watch any these days, it's Rugby League. It has much more action in it, I cannot stand the 'kicking for territory' culture in Rugby Union now. In what other sport is it considered a good thing to kick the ball out of play?

I've stopped watching F1 for the reasons you list, along with Indycar. So now for me it's Bikes and NFL.

You got me, I had a laugh out loud moment in work here...

Agree about rugby. I enjoy watching it but for the life of me I don't get what's going on. I just like the fact there is no diva feigning or diva celebration, etc. I grew up as a baseball fan 80s, and for me the modesty of on field play was admirable. Today that's gone to ..... Its like most sports have gone the way of the modern NBA.

About cycling, I don't like the doping stigma it has garnered because frankly the "doping " is so misunderstood in my opinion.. Who the hell cares if the guy took a drug to increase oxygen recovery, he still has to pedal the bike. I wish they would just lift the bans, though I know it won't happen. Did you know Willski is heavily into cycling? He's scheduled to do the Tour of Cali next year.

I have my skepticism about soccer. Some .... really does make me go bonkers. But then again sometime we follow sports and set aside the obvious ........, eh?

I used to follow X games religiously, and yeah scoring it is next to impossible. I was at the Staples Center when Travis Pastrana nailed the first ever double backflip. Would u believe one of tge judges did not score it a 10? That's all you need to know about scoring extreme sports competitions.

The rot started with Rob ....... Andrew, who did only one thing: take the ball from the scrum half, hoof it into the air, and wait while the wingers and backs rushed down field to try to either recover it or smother the opposition player who caught it. Mind-bendingly awful.

I grew up playing rugby with French kids, who always had a lot of natural flair, and loved watching Serge Blanco, who was an absolute magician. I have supported France since then.

Kareem Abdul Jabbar

Ha...ha...hahahaha.

Yes let's cite Muhammad Ali and Kareem Abdul Jabbar as good examples of intelligence.

The myth of Muhammad Ali is something that needs to die.

He was a race baiting piece of ..... That my friend is a fact. The media covered his ass for years and refused to call him out on any of it. What he said, and did to Smokin' Joe Frazier was disgusting, and not at all indicative of someone with any meaningful intelligence. He went along with a bunch of religious psychotics which showed how weak he was as a person.

Kareem, or Lew Alcindor as I prefer to call him --since the Muslim .... is a joke-- was an interesting story. He hated white people. And more than anything, he hated the fans. The very fans who adored him, he grew to despise....refusing to sign autographs for kids who looked up to him...refusing to change his ways when the fans donated all sorts of records and money to help him rebuild after his home burned down in the eighties. Now he spends his time pontificating on racial matters for Time magazine, when he was anything but an open and accepting person.

Bravo.

Many black people of their generation had good reason to hate, or distrust white people.

You, Trumpkie, Muddy Flappers and Johnny Name-change demonstrate amazing amounts of hate. Are you saying that this precludes you all from having intelligence???

Besides - you are cherry-picking two names from a list of illustrious people. Or do you have issues with the Dali Lama and all the other folks I listed. Care to pontificate further?

I suppose I should post this in the boxing thread, but Ali was against the Vietnam War. So he deserves props for that. Unlike Kesh, who is pro War. Against peace. He doesn't want this fight to continue, but he just can't help himself.

Thanks Kesh...you're showing off your real colors once again.

You claim to be above it all, and then accuse me along with others of having amazing amounts of hate, even though nothing backs you up on this.

So once again you are a liar who resorts to straw men arguments to try and support your tenuous grasp of reality.
